In regards to have events on Sundays, I think it is a good idea. Most of the middle and elementary wrestlers have older brothers who wrestle in high school on Saturdays. If more of the youth wrestling were on Sundays then families wouldn't have to choose which kid they are going to watch. Even if they are on Sunday, there are plenty of youth football, baseball, and basketball games played on Sunday's and hardly anyone has a problem with that.

on a more serious note some refs call quicker pins than others but from what I have seen most pins are scapula pin falls

I have always been told that the way to avoid a quick pin is to stay off your back lol.

Just curious, when discussing imminent nearfall I think one example is when one is being turned to their back and they scream out that they are hurt. If the official has began the count even if it is not a full one count then the top man would recieve a 2 point near fall. If it was a two count then the top man gets a 3 point near fall and if it is a five count the top man gets a 4 point near fall.

It states in the rule book that the official needs to develope a feel for the match. Most everyone knows that most officials are former wrestlers and they know a lot of tricks also. Our better officials in the state are usually very verbal to the wrestlers while on the mat, so I am pretty sure that the wrestler who was penalized was probably verbally warned before he was penalized. I hear the officials all the time so you probably knew a penalty was coming. In your case though if it was a couple of years ago then I think it was called potentially dangerous the first two times.

Cattan gets hated on all the time and in my opinion he is one of the best refs in the state. It seems if he is on the mat even if he is an assistant he gets blamed for the calls the head ref makes. Like him or not he is consistant and that is what everyone wants.

Is it only for high schoolers or what is the youngest age that can attend

Okay now one has said anything about the refs performances this weekend. I know that somebody has an opinion to state good or bad. Also who do we want to see at state and who not.
