    Best match ever?

Ohlmann Vs Shotwell 2009 i think in the semi finals Match ended when Shotwell got in on Ohlmann , Ohlmann went to a seated postion and then did a wicked switch and pinned shotwell

    Middle State Surpises or Shockers

Surprised by the Mow pick? Frankrone is a freakin 6th grader, and he wrestled his butt off, beating a kid in the finals that wrestled high school all yr, and did well I might add in the high school state finals.. I think he placed 4th.(talking about Rush) Frankrone is also wrestling up a little, he could have wrestled at 103, but took one for his team and got the job done. He beat my son, and I still think he deserves the MOW. Good job Tyler keep up the hard work, you have the stuff to be a national champion, I have noudoubt.

    2010 Middle School State Championships

82-Brady Emerson-Oldham Co 89-Michael Whelan-HC 103-Justin Lampe-River City I'd have to agree with the MOW going to Tyler Frankrone(6th grader) Strong and deadly on the mat, he diggs into his strength in the 3rd period when most have little left, Good job Tyler, can't wait to watch you in the yrs to come.
  5. I didn't mean those kids were fist pumping, I meant those were the kids that didnt' and I respected that.
  6. I'm kind of split in my decision on the Bradbury / Hall match , Yeah, Bradbury released emotions, and even his coach was beside himself and embarrased , you can see that on the replay. I thought he should have handled it better. I was sitting right next to the Ryle crowd and heard things from the fans during the match that was unacceptable , and even pitiful, the boos didn't just come from a bad call , I heard them and saw them booing when they announced his name in the face offs, and I'm sure Myron did too. As far as Mark Hall.. wow what a kid, great attitude and wrestler, I wish him the best of luck in the future and hope he stays in Ky , if youre worried about beating him , you should be he will only make you work harder. You kids that are reading this .. you are under the microscope whether you want to or not, and how you react on the mat is amplified by the spectators who are full of testostone or hormones and have been sitting there all day waiting for someone to screw up , so if you don't want people talking crap about you , take a second and think before you react. Other kids I noticed that won with class were Kevin Cooper, John Lampe, Grant Olhmann, John Fayhy, and Brock Ervin.. I'm not a fan of all the fist pumping and screaming, but I totally understand the release of emotion and pressure and don't blame them at all Good to see the Marines there with the chin up contest too, I had more fun watching those kids and even a few older people taking part in the4 challenge.. I only got 4, but I am carrying a Keg in my belly so thats equal to 20 at least

    MOW

I second the olhmann vote, that dude was on fire last night.. Can't believe he put shotwell away so fast, and Demery looked like he was in slo mo next to olhmann. Brock Ervin was impressive too, he's an 8th grader???, and I can't imagine anyone from Ky putting him on his back. Awesome tournament , with a lot of talent. A big congratulations to the 2nd to 8th place finishers, state champ is a great honor, but it's also an honor to make it there, a lot of guys standing on that podium that have given all they had and still finished with class, stay hungry guys.

I believe the plan is.. wrestling will take place on Sat as planned, those who can't make it will forefiet.
  9. Well, I wasn't going to respond, but I think my son and I have a unique situation similar to the one you speak of. We started training my son as soon as he could crawl, he was doing granbies before he started on baby food, we knew he was talented so we kept him away from bad (spoiled) kids with bad habits and began a intense ritual of raw meat , vegetables(mostly Jolly Green giant green beans) and Jolly ranchers to keep a little sweetness in him incase he decided not to wrestle till the day he died. We chained him to the basement wall with enough links to wrestle him on the concrete floor, he is now a 6th grader and we have decided to release him to the Ky wrestling community, he will eat St.X and Trinity kids for breakfast, he has no fear , but is curious of the outside world, he is 1/4th Catholic 1/4 th Baptist , 1/4th Jahovias Witness and 1/4 Amish. I think 7th grade is the best time to release him to the outside world, I believe he could go on the mat with the ryle and Trinity varsity teams in a battle royal, and still come out the victor. Well, I hope your sons are ready for the ultimate test. On a serious note, good luck to all kids in the upcoming State tournaments , Wrestling is the ultimate sport to teach a kid early in life that if you want something bad enough, hardwork, and persistance is your best friend , and hopefully they will take what they learn and use it for good in their everyday lives.

    Open Mats

Could someone give me a list of schools in the Louisville area that will be running open mats April-October, just trying to keep my son active in wrestling during these months. Thanks
