Thanks WHS98! That sounds like a great system to try out!

I agree with jpizar83! I heard three different kids mention that they didn't like the multiple champion thing! Everyone underestimates these kids! They think their just repeating what they heard their parents or another adult complain about, and that's so not true! They can think & comprehend what's going on on their own! Now I understand 5, 6, 7, 8 year-olds thinking that every tournament seems like the State Championship, but some of our kids the older ones 9, 10, 11, 12 year-olds are more aware of whats going on, and actually do speak their mind without any influence! They have single champions in every other sport! Basketball, Baseball, Boxing, Football and whatever else that a child plays at the youth level! My son has one more year left for the elementary division and he's already said that he does not wanna wrestle State next year because of this (WITHOUT MY INFLUENCE)! If it's just about participation why not use other tournaments throughout the season to promote participation of the sport?

River City took 1st place in region 2! South Oldham took 2nd!
-
Haven't heard much about this weight class! I know North Oldham & Elkhorn have some good ones at that weight, and River City has Hunter French who I think is undefeated this year.
-
I thought region 2 consisted of only Jefferson & Oldham Counties?

Best up and coming middle school team!

As far as up and coming goes, River City will be very tough after this year for next 2-3 years! They have 2 elementary state champs from last year that will probably when again this year that'll be in middle school next year and Noah Algier & Justin Lampe will be eight graders next year along with Justin's younger brother Dominick who will be in middle school next year! -
I'll go with Justin Lampe for the #1 spot!

So, is Kevin Cooper an 8th Grader? How many years experience? Just curious, because I haven't heard of him before now! -

Well, I gotta tell you! I've been keeping up with Hunter French from River City all season and he's someone to definitely watch! He wrestled the Elkhorn kid and the kid from North Oldham and beat both of them! Sounds like it would be a great match up if French & Cooper go at it! I believe he wrestled up at the time when he beat the Elkhorn kid! The only thing going against Hunter French at the moment is the he's just coming off a 3 week lay off from a hand injury! -
124lb weight class!!!!

I heard that Brock Ervin was gonna drop down to 82 for state!
-
Yes, I that's what I heard to, that Matt Fahey quit!

I don't need to back anything up! "Workhard" kinda made my point for me when he mentioned the fact he's a 2nd year wrestler & a 5th grader! I'm just going off what I've seen out of him this year going up against 8th graders all year! My opinion, any 5th grader that can compete and win the majority of his matches against 7th & 8th graders is "like I said" someone to keep your eye on! He made it to the finals at North Oldham Dominator last weekend.

River City has a beast at 96lbs! Tyler Frankrone! He's been wrestling up at 103 all year and only lost twice at that weight class! One of the losses was at the hands of a ref's mistake. He broke a bone in his hand last weekend at North Oldham, but if he heals in time for regional & state he'll be one to keep your eye on!
