David Woods the 2017 State Champ @ 195 from Calloway will be making an appearance. Wrestling at 220. Hope he makes a big splash!

Watching him in the R1 tourney...he has the potential but makes too many mistakes. Also the gas tank is questionable. Both of the matches he lost, he was tied or ahead in 3rd period before eventually losing.

FWIW...the Woods kid from Calloway in last year's tourney majored (13-0) the #2 ranked (Jett) in the second round, beat a returning finalist (Irving) in the semis, and pinned the #1 in the finals (Steven). Woods was ranked 13th coming into the tourney. Probably the best 2 day run I've seen in my 10 years of watching Kentucky wrestling.

No. Woods is not hurt, nor injured. He sat out @ the Dragon Invitational after being clinically diagnosed with the Flu.

With Stevens dropping to 145 and Cunningham to 152, where does that leave Crabtree? You have both him and Stevens ranked at 145. And Great Job on the rankings.

Need to reconcile the BMI results with your rankings...I'll throw a few out. Dearmond at 120 has a MWC of 132, Slayton at 126 has a MWC of 145. There are probably others but will leave it at that. Also one would need to check the rosters for those that aren't wrestling. Tige Littlefield at 220 is not wrestling. Jacob Bellah is not wrestling. Several guys are in the wrong classes by two or three weights i.e. Dylan Martin at 152....wrestled 126 at Sikeston this weekend. I have no doubt that the top 1-2 in each are pretty close but there is a lot more homework that needs to be done

I have attached a flyer and a brief bio from Jared’s induction into Western State’s Hall of Fame. Cost is $50 in advance and $65 the day of. The event will be at the Calloway County Day Treatment Facility, the site of our home matches and not the high school gym. Admissions will be capped to 50 wrestlers. First come first serve basis. If it were to be mandated as uniform rules...who is paying for all the teams to buy new uniforms? Also, I very easily see this as being a year to year new uniform whereas we can use the singlets for multiple season. If mandated this places a financial burden on programs with limited funding, especially those that may have just purchased new team singlets.

Derek Miller wins 9-7 in the round of 64

Derek Miller who placed 4th and 8th during his sophomore and junior years at Tilghman is now a senior and wrestling for Clay high school in Florida. He won his region Saturday heading into this weekend's state tournament by defeating a returning state champion and the #1 ranked wrestler in his weight class. Miller is/was ranked #3. Just an FYI and update on a former Kentucky boy.

Derek Miller has reached the semifinals at the FHSAA state championships. He will wrestle to make the finals in the morning. Way to go Derek!
