Nice. Butt please do us all a favor and burn that singlet!!!! -
a few notes from memory of what I saw. Yenter 1 match from placing. top 12. Lost in 3rd round to eventual champ 4-3. who happened to be a master at stalling. Shirley 2 matches from placing lost in rd 3 then lost in consos to texas state champ 4-1. top 20. Murphy Alex lost his opening match. Won his next match in consos and lost his next 3-2. J.J. Jude almost lost his second match up 10-4 late got defensive and held on to win 14-11. In semis was trailing 8-4 in the third. Opponent went for a shot and Jude pinned him. Great match. Barnett won his 1st match by pin faced #1 seed in second match was down 2-0 and hurt his leg. Finished match on one leg getting pinned late. tried wrestling next match but could only use one leg. Finished in top 20 though. Tevon Clay lost 2 matches in his return from injury. Lopez lost his 1st won his next and lost the next match. No info on seniors. Middle school I know Fausz and Brown were both runner ups. All in all a pretty good showing in what turned out to be a very poorly run tournament IMO. Curious to hear how flonationals go. May go there next year.

Kentuckywrestling.com 2010 State Tournament Rankings - February 16

because in region 7 the wealth is spread throughout the region and not concentrated on 1 or 2 teams that get a cake walk thru regions and qualify everyone. -
103- yenter 11 112- fahy 12 119 hall 3 125-osborne 9 130- cooper 2 135-thomas 10 140-ervin 13 145-shotwell 4 152-johnson 8 160-jude 5 171-hitchings 14 189-barnett 1 215 newberry 6 285 pace 7 MOW Hitchings

The toughest region to win is definitely Region 6. Mainly because to win region you have to go through Ryle and Campbell. However, the toughest region to qualify for state from is definitely Region 7. You have to battle woodford and tates creek for the win but to get 3rd or 4th you have to get past bourbon co, dunbar, franklin co, henry clay, harrison co, lafayette, all of which usually field a full squad. Add in the qualifiers from western hills ( a few) Bryan station (eh) Montgomery Co (an up and comer) Madison Central( a 6 A school that will take off soon) and it is tough to make it to state. There are no weigh in qualifiers in this region. After the top 2 in region 6 there is a huge drop off. Not so much in quality but quantity. SK, Cooper, WV Scott all have some good wrestlers but usually only field half a team. Every year Region 7 has several top 20 kids that get upset at regions and are on the outside looking in. If all regions were as competitive as region 7, the 32 man bracket would be an awesome thing!!!

Lacy would be a deserving finalist

I have to go with Yenter! I think this year Yenter can compete with last year Fahy. Just my opinion. Not sure Brock will be able to get past Milford. I don't think brock has faced anyone with Pats speed. As usual though it will come down to the draw. If all 3 of those draw the same side.......then runner up is wide open!!!!!!
-
Did soriano or abney beat him at super duals? Wait Abney wrestled logsden. Wonder if it came down to win percentage? If so you get punished for wrestling a tough schedule!!
-
Not sure but I think you got a 1 seed!
-
yea right!! In a few years Mark Hall will be back in Michigan. Actually in a few weeks!!!!!!!
-
Careful what you ask for!! He is all that and more. I know you want your shot but wait for it don't go looking for it!!
-
Fahy would beat Hall right now even spotting him 7 pounds. Not sure what weight Fahy would have to wrestle to get challenged. I hate to admit or proclaim someone as unbeatable but he is. Only chance is if he somehow misses weight. Well that is my two cents. Feel free to disagree but you would be wrong.

Trinity, Woodford Co., Ryle, Union Co., Mark Hall etc.

Before we get ahead of ourselves and give Hall 2 championships 1 he has to beat Myron again at state and b next year I have a sneaky suspicion he will have to go through Fahy!! -

I asked our coaches how they would handle the situation of a move in move out athlete. They said they would like to think they would not allow this but did not know until it happened. I let it be known that they would no longer have my support if they allowed this to happen. I feel too strongly against it to participate. I have lobbied long and hard against these move in athletes and though I am sure it will not change, I am proud of my stance on this issue and will root long and hard against these kids. Will not bring myself to booing them but will never cheer for them. I have always been an extremely fierce competitor but I must be losing my edge because there are some lines I won't cross! -
it has been a while since these posted. Any changes that would shake things up?
-
could care less about this entire Hall situation. I think it is incredible he is that good and that young!! However for his plan to work, a school has to accept him and let him wrestle. It is now different than all the basketball and football and baseball transfers we have going on within our own state!!!

Ray lost the 171 finals by DQ illegal uppercut i was told. was down 4-2 to gardner when it happened
-
well that matchup not gonna happen Ray wrestled 171 at 5 star today although Ray almost lost his 1st match to bryan station kid!
-
can't wait to see the Ray- Barnett match in the semi's! Prolly the best matchup of the day!!
-
WOW!!! So everyone agrees??? Lets skip regions and go to state then!!!
-
agreed and those were based on where everyone is now. I understand people may change and say Hitchings decides to go 189 for some reason that list of contenders would change to 1.
-
I gauge the toughest weight class by toughest to win. Ex. 112 is not tough because Fahy is going to win it. The only battle is for 2nd. That being said here are my weight class ratings based on number of legit contenders. 189- 5 contenders 103, 130, 135, 160 3 contenders 119, 125, 145, 215, 285 2 contenders and finally 112, 140, 152, and 171 with 1 that should walk away with the title. Just a little different way to rate them. Feel free to disagree.
