Just Lovely myGSP, Good Lord- Do you think you critiqued enough people. I really have just one thing to say to you. I think that you obviously think the rest of us are ignorant. We are the parents of these kids and we of course would make the best decisions possible based on the safety of our children. We are the adults and we decide whether we put our kids on a bus or not. Quoting gloom and doom and belittleing the quotes of other people speaks tons to your character. We all agree. This was handled poorly, we have to make the best of the situation and we all have to move on. All of this "who makes the call " stuff you speak of is answered this time by you yourself ...., "Mrs. Johnson" made the call. As I see it, she made the call for about 1500 of us. Now the question becomes, is this appropriate? Is she the best person to make the call for our wrestling tournament? A tournament that isnt necessarily always school sponsered ie. Madison County Wrestling Club. So do not threaten me with the idea of "taking away my middle school wrestling team" because I do not have an "official state or school "sponsered team to take away...although we, a club are sending 5 kids to a state tournament. If a bus slid off the road and killed my child who would I blame?....Myself because the bottom line is I, the parent, the adult am ultimately responsible for my child. I do not understand your finger-pointing mentality or even endorse or give credit to your idea that I would blame someone other than myself. And volunteering, believe me, my family volunteers every weekend for this sport and these kids. We will make it better without belittleing others. Finally, there are so many things wrong with you saying if anyone gets killed post it here so we can pray for their families that I cant even approach that topic. All I can say is go take a look in a mirror. We all are upset and we all are waiting to see what the decision makers have in mind to make this better. people who want to just point fingers and blame others need to chill. As much as I am dissappointed about this entire situation, BEFORE anyone starts blaming KYSWA, think about what you are saying before you say it!!! I am not a member of the board, BUT I challenge ANYONE that has a problem with decisions that the board is making to remember they are VOLUNTEERING their time and energy. If you think you have all these answers......become a board member. It's easy to sit back and criticize people for decisions that you could have had the opportunity to have been a part of. So....instead of pointing out all of the problems, become more active and be a part of the solution.

I would like to see this moved to a location such as EKU in Richmond. The All A Classic is already held there earlier in the month so there is experience holding events like this already there. The University gets a chance to make an early impression on future prospective students so the facilities may not be too pricey. I know it would be a longer distance to travel for a handful of teams from the west but it's not any further for them than it is for teams like Johnson County and Ashland to travel to ETown. And it's more centrally located for the majority of schools in the state.

Next weekend is the high school regionals and a good portion of these kids will be wrestling for the high schools. The following weekend is the high school and youth state tourneys, so that pretty much eliminates that weekend as well.

that is correct, North Hardin is district 2, region 1. When I had posted earlier my eyes read N Hardin, but my brain read N Oldham. Sorry for the mispost earlier. Johnson County hosted the Regional and said they would get the results posted over the next couple of days. Let's just say the officiating was EXTREMELY inconsistant throughout the day and got worse during the Finals.

I have a question: Does anyone know what happens when the brackets for a weight class aren't filled for Regionals? Do they become a bye or can the alternates from the other district fill the open spots?

What were some of the results from District 8?

Our youth team has been practicing for a couple of months now and has also competed a few times. The kids practice twice a week right after the middle/high school teams finish up. Last year Madison, Montgomery, Bourbon, Woodford,Franklin, and Lexington started their own conference to give the kids more wrestling opportunities and it's worked out great. Some of the middle school kids stick around after practice to help work with the younger ones. The mats are already down and the coaches are already at the gym, so it makes it conveniet for everyone. Just some food for thought. I think it's things like this that will eventually help Kentucky wrestling close the gap between it and it's neighbors.

Just a sidenote, if you do get the full card, that covers you for all the summer USA tourneys as well. If you have the $10 league card for the regular season, you can pay the additional $15 to upgrade the card to cover the wrestler through the rest of the summer. I have done this the last 2 years with my son. He's been able to get in an almost additional seasons worth of wrestling experience by wrestling in the Bluegrass State Games and the other summer tourneys. Just something to keep in mind if the cost is an issue.

Bourbon is hosting a few teams as well. Madison will be headed there.

I just found out that at least for district 7, they will try to seed the top 4 and the rest will be a blind draw.

Danville did a great job once again this year with this tournament. Here's Madison's results: Darion Coleman 1st place @ 140 Storm Savage 1st place @ 150 Marcus Childers 2nd place @150 Tyson Gregory 3rd place @ 150 Blake Nelson 1st place @ 165 Logan Thomas 1st place @ 185 They had the weights wrestle specific to a mat, and since our 6 were all on the same mat, I really didn't get a chance to see any of the smaller weights today.

Madison will be there with a partial line-up. We should have about 7 or 8 kids with us.

Does anybody know who the hosts are for the 2 district tourneys and where the regional is being held this year?
