Cooper can still add another team to its opening match at home with Boone Co. and Scott December 2nd. Contact: coachjohnson@cooperwrestling.com

The original plan for 10 team would have 2 pools of 5. Not all teams will be full and therefore some weights will still be at 10 or less making two pools of 5. Weights with 11 or 12 will be 3 pools of 4 Had some good competition show interest late and I felt that adding them to the field was more valuable than keeping the 10 team format.

I wanted to take the opportunity to thank everyone that came to Cooper High School for our season opening Wrestling Boot Camp. I hope that every wrestler that participated was able to walk away with something that will benefit them in the upcoming season. The concept for the older kids was to give exposure to a few local collegiate wrestling programs. This exposure hopefully would answer a few questions and give a level of familiarity with the coaches as well as what to expect in the practice room at the next level. Each wrestler will certainly relate to some clinicians better than others, but having the variety of styles helps. If I can assist in passing along any information or aid in making a connection to one of the coaches that you saw over the weekend, do not hesitate to contact me. For the little guys, the High School Staff wanted to cover the basic fundamentals of the sport to get the kids started off on the right foot. Hopefully it was in a fun and enjoyable manner, because in the end we hope that these kids become lifelong wrestlers. The Cooper High School Staff wants to wish you all the best of luck in achieving your goals this season. We hope to see you all back again next year.

All, Three weeks ago, Lindsey Wilson Wrestler Jake Bradford was involved in a tragic bonfire accident that left 60% of his body burned. He has had a couple of surgery's since then and is still recovering in the burn unit at the University of Kentucky Hospital. Before starting his college wrestling career at Lindsey Wilson and just 8 months after becoming a Kentucky State Champion for Ryle High School.....he is faced with the largest challenge of his life. His friends and family have been by his side all along and now his wrestling family at Ryle want to help Jake with a Benefit. Ryle High School will be hosting a camp October 10th at Ryle High School to benefit Jake with all proceeds going to his family. Camp Clinicians: NCAA All American and current Univ. of Wisconsin Wrestler Kyle Ruschell All American and current Walton Verona High School Head Coach Dave Barnes Lindsey Wilson College Head Coach Corey Ruff Please contact Ryle Head Coach Tim Ruschell at Timothy.Ruschell@boone.kyschools.us or you can contact me as well and I can get the form to you. For those travelling: Just did a search on Hotels.com and found at least a dozen rooms that were in the $40-50 nightly range. Use Union KY as a target and I did a 10 mile radius. Many will be listed as Florence for the city. That is right next to us.

Guys, Numbers have been great for open mats and have been steadily growing. We will continue until the season opens. over 40 kids in the room last night. MS kids have been coming as well....so all ages welcome. questions: coachjohnson@cooperwrestling.com

Keep the registrations coming in. Just found out that Campbellsville University will be bringing all of the wrestlers that are from the Cincinnati/N. KY area to the camp. Great opportunity to get some instruction from these guys and and test yourself during the live sessions. Lindsey Wilson also confirmed that they will be bringing some wrestlers up for the Friday evening session. I am confident that Cumberland's will have some guys coming as well Dont miss out on a great camp at a recession friendly price:)

Great camp last year....Princeton (OH) brought a handful of kids, got to see some great go's. Tyler Alsip and Steven Cox from Norwood (OH) came down and rolled with NCAA All-American Kyle Ruschell (Ryle) from Univ. of Wisc along with Tommy Pretty (Elder, OH) from Campbellsville. The Alsip brothers will be there this year as members of the Campbellsville wrestling team and hopefully Tommy Pretty (NAIA All American) makes it again as well. Coach Ruff from Lindsey Wilson will be bringing some kids on Friday. Coach Medders from Cumberlands always gets in a rolls with the kids during the sessions that he is not instructing. Great camp at a very reasonable price. NCAA All American Dave Barnes will also be there....he is now Head Coach at Walton Verona High School. Good chance to meet a few coaches and roll with some collegiate wrestlers email any questions: coachjohnson@cooperwrestling.com follow on Facebook as well: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=159428846280#/event.php?eid=117292228908
