Seeding was straight criteria and placement in the pools beyond that it done automatically and at random by trackwrestling. It is not feasible to have a seed meeting prior, everyone would be there until midnight. Placement criteria determines your seeding, The only exception to Criteria is a head to head victory over someone seed above you. All this information is on the trackwrestling website, Seeding Criteria 1- Placement in State Tournament 2- Placement in Ohio District or Indiana Semi State Tournament 3- Placement in Previous Raider Rumble 4- Placement in Kentucky Regional, Ohio Sectional or Indiana Regional Tournament 5- Placement in Middle School State Tournament 1 seed BJ Carmen (Larue)- Placed 3rd in the State of KY in 2012, 1st in the Rumble last year and 1st in the Region 2 seed- Noah Bauer (St X)- Placed 5th in the 2011 Rumble and 1st in the Region last year 3 seed- Matt Kennedy (Glen Este, OH)- Placed 7th in the 2011 Rumble and 5th in the Ohio D1 Sectional 4 Seed- Sean Root (Harrison, OH) Placed 7th in the 2011 Rumble 5 Seed- Eli Matthews (Campbell Co) Placed 2nd in 2012 Regional 6 seed- Jacob Warwick (Conner) Placed 4th in 2012 Regional Alt- Elijiah Miller (Scott) Placed 5th in 2012 Regional The other big tournament in Kentucky (The Dragon) has a format that if you lose in the 1st round that the best you can place is 7th. Coach Graven and I are friends and I am sure that he knows that I would not screw one of his kids over.

Trackwrestling is great with all the options and formats available to you. This year it was a matter of trying to allow more teams that have quality kids get into the tournament and this format allows that. In years past you wrestled in 4 pools to start and if you lost within that preliminary pool in all likelihood the highest you could place would be 5th. So it is not that much different from that standpoint. Last year 1 loss in the first set of pools and winning out from there would have gotten you 5th place. Years past 4 pools of 4 feed with winners placed in champ (1-4) semi bracket. Finishing second in the pool placed you in the conso (5-8) bracket This year 6 pools of 3 with winners place in one of two champ pools (1-6) that represent semi bracketing. Second in the pool goes into conso (7-8) pools Once you look at it and think about it, its not that far off from where we have been in years past. The quality of wrestling was great and we hope that the Rumble continues to improve every year

Larue is still coming, but only with a partial squad due to injuries and ACT testing. Moore was added a month or so ago, and this week we have added Scott and Lafayette. We will have 19 teams and running on 5 mats There is no seed meeting, seeds are set by criteria automatically after weigh ins. You will be able to follow results live on trackwrestling and also be able to watch via internet stream on iHigh. Should be another great Rumble this year!

Due to a late drop, Ryle has the opportunity to add one team to its very competitive tournament on Saturday Dec 8th. It will be an 18 team pool style tournament placing the top 8 wrestlers. There were some notable matches for a few of the Ryle wrestlers. 113 Gus Adams beat Richie Screptock of Oregon Clay who was the Champion at the Brecksville Holiday tournament and then pinned in the finals. 126 TJ Ruschell beat Mike Screptock of Oregon Clay who was the Brecksville Holiday Runner up and placed 4th in Ohio D1 last season. 132 Corey Ahern got caught in some funk and gave up a 5 point move against Conine from Oregon Clay. Conine has given Kagan Squire of Wadsworth all he wanted twice this season and should place high in Ohio D1 this year. It was unfortunate that criteria placed Conine in Ahern's pool and he could only fight back for 5th in the pool format. Top 4 out of North at 120 and Meiman at 145 this weekend as well
