College has a 6 match rule in a day so most of the one day tourneys are ran like this. Lose before semis the best you can do is fifth.

I thought all 4 guys looked good but there's work to be done. All practice getting ready for March. Very impressed with how Ben B is wrestling for Coach K. He will make some noise before he's finished.
-
Finished up finals too late to travel with team. Will be in Reno and then Naples, Italy.

Exactly EScalera! That's why Zeke is at the level he is! Even if every school in KY had open mats it would still be most beneficial to travel outside of the area for the reasons you mentioned. The more coaches, partners, and technique that they're exposed to the quicker their progression. You have to be willing to make the commitment and sacrifices.

Just trying to help with my opinion, and I'm very calm but serious. The time you have from youth, MS, and HS believe it or not is over in the blink of an eye, and In a year and a half even college will be over. Unfortunately, you have to do what is best for your child and their goals. If schools won't allow it and you don't want to travel out of state then it has to start with the coaches and ex-college wrestlers starting clubs in a non-school venue. No one is going to reach their potential wrestling the same kids and the same style all of the time with the same coaches. KY has made huge strides since my son first started. There have been numerous college wrestlers at all levels and probably more D1 guys than in any other time. They've laid the foundation and now it is on you and others like minded to drive the agenda forward. Good luck! As far as off season opportunities, yes, KY is in the dark ages compared to other states. Take it for what it's worth, nothing, Andy Fausz

You can't wait for KY to get with the times. Seek out the best training environment for your son/daughter out of state if necessary and make the drive. If that is what your son/daughter wants, it is well worth the time and money. We were fortunate to have Nate Carr close when we were seeking out training opportunities. There are any number of places to choose from in Ohio.

No weight issue, no injury, and Cox doesn't have his number. It was the plan all along. His engineering classes have kept him from training with the team. Works with the RTC guys. Second semester, after Dec 13th, his classes are in line with practice and he will be in the lineup, count on it.

Very happy to see the state moving in the right direction. FS/GR will only make you a better folkstyle wrestler, period. Said it years ago and will continue to say it. If you're not doing the other styles you will never reach your full potential. I'm pretty sure I might have made money the year it was $0 cost. I think that was the year Keith and KY USAW reimbursed me for mileage. Thanks to everyone that is pushing this forward because it is truly in the kids best interest! Well done! Andy Fausz

There's a petition on twitter...something like @saveboisestwrestling. Already signed it.

I personally think you can thank Jason Nolf/ Cael Sanderson for that. Why else do you think he goes to 165? Clearly undersized! Gassed because he had to work so hard to overcome the size difference!

ACC slightly higher percentage with 5 of 6 HWT AQ's. But, yeah, both higher than B1G. ACC also higher than anyone percentage wise with 31 AQ's. Not sure 35 total ACC qualifiers is a higher percentage than everyone...my guess is yes.

Pretty sure there's only 2 schools taking all 10 to STL and neither are B10...Okie St and NC State #STATEment!!!!!!!!

I think Ruschell will get in, but not so confident about Fahy and Lampe. Hope I'm wrong...would love to see 4-5 KY boys make it which would be a new high for a year.

According to Flo and D1CW the SoCon lost a spot @149 so he just missed. Unfortunately, also only four at-large bids available @149. The NCAA committee releasing a revision hours after releasing the allocations is a complete blunder.

I'm thinking last year was probably the most in a single year with 3, Fahy, Fausz, and Lampe with Ruschell and Blackwell barely missing and Ervin hurt.

The number of HS titles is not an indication of ultimate success. The truly best achieve it at the college and international level! That's where the measurement should be especially with all of the state of Kentucky wrestling talk!

No not LOL...if i wasn't in North Carolina, I'd be there. Do basketball fans not show up because it's Friday?

Disturbing crowd...state tournament and stands are nearly empty!!! SAD

October 15 & 16 - Dennis Hall Wrestling Camp - Campbell County High School
CCMS_SC replied to Grappler's topic in High School Wrestling
It amazes me every year that this camp is not packed. You won't find a cheaper camp to attend than this one offered every year by Dennis at CC. All of the talk in the state about improving the level of wrestling and a World and Olympic Champion every year in Kentucky and only 20-40 kids show up. Amazing opportunity to learn from one of the best! You won't find a better person or opportunity!!!!!!!!!!!! -
Do whatever you think is best for the kids, but at the end of the day it isn't going to matter. A TRUE wrestler doesn't give a D??? what he is wearing!
-
They're all winnable...rankings and seeds only matter on March 20th!
-
Dad...I mean PinAndWin, I guess you'll have to wait on that matchup with AV a little longer!!!

At USAW events there is no allowance, but you do get bumped up automatically if you miss weight. http://usawevents.sportngin.com/page/show/1670180-weigh-ins-medical http://usawevents.sportngin.com/page/show/1670178-divisions
