Snow is getting on the way now that Wrestling Season is in its high peak. Hardin County and Oldham County schools are closed on Friday.What's the rule about athletic events then...? In JCPS, if school closes on Friday, Saturday events are GENERALLY cancelled, specially those with regular attendance like wrestling, not those with traditional high attendance like basketball or football!!! Drive safe if you have to be out on the roads!

Since there are some Wrestling Events this Saturday, and it is the day of Coach Dan Wilkerson's funeral, I think the tournaments should start with a moment of silence in his memory. He was a member of the wrestling family and as a family we must honor his life. I know that one of the events is at Jeffersontown High School, I hope the organizers will consider this suggestion. Blessings to the Wilkerson family!

Woodford's website says Dec. 28th and 29th...

The YUM center brochure lists wrestling as the first type of event they plan to host. I personally vote for YUM center for the state tournament!

During his high school career Myron proved that he is a very talented and strong wrestler in the mat, BUT outside the mat, his behavior DOES NOT reflect the best about him and his school. At the Jefferson Championship at Eastern HS, I saw Myron seriously disrespecting other wrestlers and parents while at the parking lot during the false alarm fire we had at that event. Many other wrestlers from Trinity are friendly and respectful with their other wrestling peers from other teams; Fahy is just an example of that. That attitude of Myron is responsible for most of the bad reaction he received at the State Championship. I hope Myron have help to develop a true character. As the young man he is, he deserves to become the best of him, not the worse!

Any info on where REGIONALS will be this year? Last two years they were at HOOPS, a very uncomfortable place where audience can't even sit and watch. Hope we can find a very choice for this year. Wrestlers and fans deserve better!!!

I know some of the wrestlers from Seneca and I am confident they will provide a smooth and nice practice. I'm glad to see more open mats in the Louisville area. That's the way to continue building a strong wrestling community!
