If ou place high here you have prbably wrestled a Graham kid
-
To be specific Ryle ted Lakota East for 8th with 107 pts. and Simon Kenton had 76 pts. Cory Buckler 215 from Ryle also placed 8th
-
Kyle Ruschell placed 5th at 66kg last weekend at the Sunkist Open. I guess his active wrestling career isn't over yet.

Notfromhere: Do you know how many of these kids in basketball, football and baseball actually make it to the real money? Can you name 10 kids in the last 20 years from Kentucky who made it to the pros and really cashed in. The idea of making it as a pro athelte is about as smart as funding your retirement plan by buing lottery tickets

No problem for the voe of confidence. How do you think this thread might evolve if a certain wrestler named Steffan (and his dad) had moved down here instead of Mark Hall?
-
As is not usually the case I agree with refdad Mark Hall is a unique talent which we are unlikely to see in the state of Kentucky (or anywhere else soon) again. He is not the one making the decisions in his career. Quite simply I believe his dad's goal is too make him the "best wrestler at every level for all time" and is prepared to do anything to achieve just that. I agree he is bending the spirit if not the letter of the law. But before we get too critical lets look the most sacred cow in this state Kentucky Basketball. They hire a coach who is known to break the rules but wins. They recruit "student athletes" knowing that this is just a one or two year stop before the NBA. The powers in high school basketball recruit the best kids. Where's all the uproar about this? We all know that any high school program in the state would love to have Mark Hall in their room this January he made the other kids in the room better by wrestling them and he demonstrated to everyone else what you can do in this sport with hard work and dedication. This sport more than any other rewards the kid who sacrifices the most and works the hardest (and smartest). Mark Hall will probably devote his entire life to wrestling. Maybe he will make a ton of money with it (Chertow or Jordan). The history of this sport is filled with stories of fanatic dedication leading to success (Gable, Mills, etc.) I think the worst thing about mark Hall is it forced us to realize our wrestling is not as good as we thought it was here. That's why some posters felt such "sweet vindication" when a high school senior who was cutting a ton of weight to get to 119 was able to beat a 12 year old in the finals.

I believe he went 4-0 but acertain other big name KY wrestler went 2-2

Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings Pre-Season 2010/2011 - November 24
oldwrestler81 replied to Ranger123's topic in High School Rankings
In team duel rankings, Simon Kenton (#4) lost to Ryle (#8) by 12 points. Will SK stay at 4? -
Ryle did not have Gus Adams (injured hand) or Caleb Lonkard (not out from football) or Jake Williamson (academic vacation). These teams will see each other several times in the next few weeks at the SWOWCA and the GMVWA tournaments.
-
My how Fern Creek has changed. Maybe they can be Wolfiser?? another year of eligability. That would prevent a shutout by St.X
-
Having refed at the high school level in Georgia for 3 years I understand how hard it is. That being said I can forgive incompitance but not bias or a lack of motivation to improve There is a huge differance in our refs compared to neighboring states
-
it's definately pile on the ref time
-
start with a lobotomy then contact the local officials association, join and they will outline the peocess to get certified. If you do poorly enough you should be working the state tournament in about 2 years lol
-
I would rank them in order of least likely to most likely at 1. Union (unless all the Ervins quit) 2. Trinity (unless all wrestlers are required to come up thru their program) 3. Ryle (unless their kids are all recruited by that "purple" team 4. Jonson Central ( if they don't lose any more of their stars) (these 4 are locks) 5 Larue these last 3 are not as strong Eastern Lafayette Southern I wouldn't be surprised if this is not the order they finish in February If I have offended anyone.... well that's the point of this website. Tell me where I am wrong
-
Which of the 8 teams that won their regional tournament last year have the longest streaks of winning their regional. Which team champ from last year is most likely to be knocked off this year?
-
Ryle has a Hauk protoge
-
In Northern Kentucky it's called the Hauk Syndrome (big name coach who hated wrestling) wh infected all of his disciples. That's one reason why when Nothern Ky football teams cross the river to play Cincinnati teams they tend to just get the living xxx beat out of them
-
Teams that win their regional every year
oldwrestler81 replied to oldwrestler81's topic in 2011 Season
Does anyone know how many years in a row Union has won it? -
Do't forget those underground recruiters from the lnand of the "Golden Cross" Their biggest problem though is they dropped out of the Coaches Classic because they said they wern't good enough to compete
-
I har Cincinnati Moeller may be in the market They lost 2 players last year to free agency
