It's a pool tournament. This format allows this many teams to compete in one day without hitting the 5 match rule.
-
This link has the results for this duel/pool tournament http://www.jakeswrestling.com/pdfs/moellerduals120311.pdf Besides Moeller, teams from Cincinnati, Columbus (Oh) and Cleveland participated

Bradbury/Hall in the finals 2 years ago was good
-
I am thnakful we have gotten thru the fat test and first grade check without losing half our team
-

Back on topic: I would think most teams will do their 'fat test" in the next week or two and then hopefully we can see where the interesting matchups are likely to be -
Grant Farwick has seen the light and returned to Ryle
-
The thing about 8th graders becoming freshmen is they tend to still be growing so their weight classes often different then what we expect
-
congrats to a great young man. I think your style will work well in college
-
Clay Brown gets hammered here I would say a weight class that combines any two (or 3) of Cooper, Myers, Hitchings, or Fahy would be interesting
-
so I guess all of the old posts were deleted? To refresh the Raider Rumble includes 7 of the 8 top teams in Ky. Virginia powerhouse Grundy, several strong Ohio teams including Cincinnati Harrison and several very good Indiana teams. What teams are scheduled for the five star?
-
Does anyone have list of KY wrestlers going to the Super 32?

As someyone who does not have a dog in this fight I would like to comment on the idea of a Jude Myers match: I have watched both kids wrestle and am aware of what they do. Honestly I don't believe Jude can win. Austin just brings to much experience and is a much more technical wrestler -
The word is that Newberry is definately back this year

The wrestling community suffered a great loss last week when former NCAA champion and Olympic Gold Medalist Doug BluBAugh was struck and killed while on a Motorcycle on 5/16/2011. For us "old timers" who ever attended a Blubaough clinic (I had that opportunity several times when he was at Ohio State)he was a grat clinician and very entertaining to listen to. He will be missed

Kyle Ruschell Summer Wrestling Camp @Ryle July 11-14
oldwrestler81 replied to KickEmOut's topic in 2011 Season
Some of the more interesting live wrestling matchups included Myron Bradberry going against Kevin Cooper and Jake Bradford matching up with Trevor Brandvold (Wisconson) -
Kyle placed 5th today at the world team trials. Some of the matches are on flow, including a pretty good match with Brent Metcalf
-
Has there been any further discussion, official announcement, or really good rumor about where we will be next year for the state tournament?
-
From Ryle TJ Ruschell Corey Ahern Gus Adams Dallas Pruitt Who else is going to Cleveland this weekend?
-
open mats at Ryle tonite 5-7 (every Tuesday and Thursday) and Saturdays 1-2
-
On a more positive note Ryle will be young next year (probably only 2 seniors) But they have a solid group of sophmores (and freshmen) with a very good 8th grade group coming up.
-
with the change in start time on thursday, I think a venue like the horsepark with the ability to put more mats down is important. And yes that option is real as Frankfort is becoming less willing to work with wrestling
-
This is looking like a tournament that could be won or lost in the quarters
-
yup Wrestling starts at 6:30 on Friday
