Help me with an Article for WrestlingUSA- Best teams in last decade
oldwrestler81 replied to NOHS_wrestling's topic in 2009 Season
Ryle in northern kentucky has become a state factor. They finished 2nd last year and are ranked 3rd right now. They have won 7 individual championships in the last 4 years. Not bad for a program that had it's first state champ only 10 years ago. -
Does their recent slump have anything to do with coaching changes in the last few years?

Has Matt Neal (189) wrestled yet this year? -
For those of you who are interested, Simon Kenton had a rematch with Ryle in the St Xavier (Ohio) duel team tournament yesterday. Does anyone want to know how the match went?

another comment about Jeff Jordan: It's known in Ohio that if you are trying to transfer to Graham. Jordan generally wont even talk to a kid until after they register in their district. In other words they come to him, he does't go get them. Thats a lot diferent then a certain Cincinnati program. Ask any Cincinnati public school wrestling coach and he will tel you about a certain "archbishop" school that actively recruits prospect from as far away as Columbus

You're missing the point as to why Ryle wen't to the SWOWCA toournament. They did not go to showcase a few kids. They went to find the toughest competitiion for all of theit kids because that's what makes them better. That's why they went to the Dayton tournament the next week, then St. X. (ohio) the next week then Bellbrook (Ohio) the week after that

Ranger brings up an interesting point about the "assembled" team at Graham. Coach Jordan is following a model that all the elite teams follow. This started in the 70s in Cleveland when a real estate mogul named Howard Ferguson transformed a mediocre Lakewood St. Edwards team into Div I state champs & national elite status in just 4-5 years. There are a whole lot of schools that now practice this model

St. Paris Graham is ranked 2nd behind Blair Academy out of New Jersey. Blair beat them at the Ironman

What is the purpose of the NKAC wrestling tournament?

For those of you that do not know Ryle sent it's varsity team to a tournament in Ohio. Campbell Co and Simon Kenton did manage to beat their JV team.
