    Championship Celebration

I don't know if it's part of a "motivational tool box" but sure it's to get a reaction from their fans and that's good, I just stated for the person who mentioned myron's outcry (which I thought was fine) where it might have come from as he had seen it 6,7, 8 or more times from previous matches in the earlier days. Sure those three wins were great and by all means deserve a fist raise or pump, i was referring to the every match walking over to the fans and yelling. As far as the C & C show, I don't think most people still like the fact they go onto the mat almost every match. but it's funny how they hold each other back while the other one takes another step forward...they are comical out there for sure.

2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

It wasn't taken to a 32 man bracket to pay for the center. It was done to try and up the sport(right or wrong is another story). I don't think they would have a problem with it being 2 day tournament, actually khsaa and the individual school systems want that so one less day of school is missed. But the facility can't hold more than 4 mats so it has to be 3 days. If a cheap facility was found that could hold 6 mats I think you would find it going to 2 days real quick.

2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

That would be too big in my opinion...a better location in Louisville would be broadbent arena. It seats like 10-12 thousand I believe but could still hold 6 mats I think.

    Championship Celebration

I agree with the not a big fan of celebrations, especially for a mundane match but for a state title ok. But when a pro does it for just a tackle, or big gain heck you are supposed to do that. I would be surprised to know that Coach Brown had told Bradbury to go back and apologize to Ryle for his actions as he is the first one to go running infront of the Trinity area from whichever side of the mat he is on and raising his fists in the air and yelling. So it is kind of an expected reaction I would think based on the examples given, but just my observation as well as many others I have talked to.

    Food Concessions

Then like I said in an earlier post, everyone needs to call, email, write the KHSAA and not just say it on here. Coaches need to tell their athletic director how they feel and hope they will back them and say something and the parents need to tell the khsaa how they feel about it, I guarantee they won't see it from sitting on here.

2011 State Tournament Will Be @ Frankfort Again

I think another place would be good and go to two days with 6 mats. But there aren't many places that would hold the mats and then the rental of it is always a cost problem and very few cities that could hold that many people in hotels.

    Championship Celebration

I don't think most people mind it for winning state, that is a heck of an accomplishment. I don't care for it when it is the first few rounds. I think maybe some people were mad about Bradbury because he had beat (all beat a bada$$!!) a 7th grader. That's a heck of a maturity level difference in body between a 12-13 year old and a 17 yr old! Heck of an accomplishment for him to get there even.

    Trinity

Oh well I guess I wasn't paying attention to some of those matches then..I had thought Trinity kept winning. I didn't see the Palmer Hitchings match or the Lonkard Pender. I think I was busy trying to eat too many hotdogs maybe.

    Food Concessions

The best suggestion you can do is to either write or call the khsaa and let them know what you think. I believe that the food vendor is attached to the convention center and not to the state tournament. The khsaa had no say in who it was or prices, and I completely agree it was terrible and unacceptable. But like I said everyone needs to express their opinion to the khsaa and let the emails and phone calls pile up..I confess I did buy 2 cokes because I had my fill of lemonade and raspberry tea!! Next year they would be better off just not even opening up the concession stands. I think it was all so overpriced to pay for the 4-5 people standing in the booth doing nothing while one person could take money and get a coke out...

    Trinity

I may be wrong, but I think the places it was won was the 4-5 head to head matches that I saw from trinity and ryle. A few of those were in early rounds and Trinity won them all that I saw. That would have made a big difference.

    Proud Dad

You could always become a referee, now you don't have anyone to watch specifically so this way you could still see it and be involved. But even better suggest to your son that he becomes one if his future plans, college, job, military, whatever, allow it that's the best way he coul give back to a sport that needs help. Or coach at a new school that doesn't have a program yet!!

    Big School/Small School championships

Correct me if I am wrong, but for football don't they base it on the number of males in the school? Not just the school size, I thought I heard that somewhere.

    Region 4

I don't think they "really stepped up their game" with the exception of McCauley i don't think there was much different then expected. But even with him I would have guessed he would beat Broussard...If they do this next week then i would say they stepped up their game!!

    Mustang Classic Predictions

12 is a power of 4...the problem being is it doesn't divide out to 1 v 2. That's why its a 16 then 32. But you also don't get points for byes in tournaments that's why 19 people in a 32 man bracket is fine...the problem there being is that if you lose the first match then you can only get 7th place and will only get one more match for the day. You can use an 8 man bracket for 4 people but it's just that everyone has a bye in the first round so if all other weight classes are 8 then that weight just wouldn't wrestle the first round and would all receive byes so you catch up to them the next round. This way everyone stays together in the same round and not having to skip around and guess what weight class is on what round at the time.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

JV state is still on, so anyone who is participating come on...and if you now have nothing to do come to it and cheer on your teammates or watch some wrestling going on this weekend...one of the few things now going on.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

I don't think that half of the schools involved were told by their districts that they couldn't travel. There are 5 schools alone from the Louisville area and none of them were told they couldn't. Then you add in the Northern KY schools that are still traveling tomorrow for JV state, now up to 7, some Lexington schools are still coming for it, now up to 9. So I think maybe a couple were told they couldn't but I believe it was just cancelled prematurely by some people. And wrestling could be done on Sunday many churches do service on Saturday night as well but that's a whole different issue... It should have just happened with whatever schools showed up and go from there, that's a much better solution than cancelling it completely.
  17. Any teams in the Louisville area now planning on hosting some type of a dual matches for the day? A tri or quad or 5-way? Just wondering if anything was going to happen since others are getting cancelled. Thanks.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

That was a bad decision to not cancel schools or at least delay them that day. But this is a bit different as it's snow that's being called for not the sleet mix like that night was. And no snow has fallen yet but the brine (here in louisville at least) has been put down already and I didn't see that on tuesday nite. But you are right, zero injuries obviously are what is expected and are OK.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

I remember when I was in school (16-20 years ago) and even after when at J-town at least twice a year we would travel from the Louisville area to either lexington (woodford, tates creek) or to Northern Kentucky (holmes, conner) for a tournament or matches and would travel with 2-3 inches of snow on the ground. I dont ever remember an event being cancelled from snow, sometimes a couple of schools wouldn't show up but I remember us going every time.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

I don't even know if this is possible, but just throwing it out there. What about remote weigh-ins tonite for the teams and then wrestling starting at 10:30 or 11. Or just pushing weigh-ins tomorrow back to 10:30? I am not even involved in it but hate to see it get cancelled especially for Lafayette as has been mentioned, you know how much effort and planning goes into a tournament to see it go away.

    STATE DUALS CANCELLED

I don't understand why it just can't be carried on with the schools that are able to get there...if there are only 8, 7 however many it would still be some good matches and at least not cancel it. Unless of course it's only 2!
  22. They won't be posted on here, but all the coaches should have just an example of them. The actualy brackets everyone won't get until Saturday morning after weigh-ins to make sure everyone makes it. The coaches have the listing of the kids and should be able to figure it out based on the sample bracket compared to the kids in the tournament I would think.
  23. We don't usually have a full bracket in any weight class as some regions choose not to attend for whatever personal reasons they have but we try to fill in the weight classes with alternates from the other regions. I would say looking at them this year that the average is about 12 kids per class. So it should allow for some good matches and a good day of wrestling. Thanks to all attending.

    REGIONALS

KHSAA had schools listed last year too for 3, 4, and 5 but we all know that didnt happen, I am glad it is going to be at the schools again though.
