I think that Zeppa could take 125, so far he's having an awesome season. Has he ever wrestled Parks before?
-
How about Zeppa at 125? He seems like he has a good shot at going undefeated. I am almost 100% sure Martin will go undefeated and take state again, if not it will be a BIG upset.

Who will win Region 5 Duals on Jan 8th and 9th?
threequarter replied to OCMVP's topic in 2008 Season
North Oldham has a few upper hands, their coaches, their home advantage, and the fact that they have a really good dual team this year. The fact that the matches will be at North Oldham will have a MAJOR role. They wouldn't want to lose at home... nobody would. -
How about this one, some sibling rivalry... Antonio Zeppa (125 for NO last year) or Andre Zeppa (125 for NO this year).
-
Yeah, I bet that can be pretty intimidating.. good thing I'm not 125 :-D
-
I didnt mean NFL and yeah thats who I meant... I guess thats why i wrestle

He did break his nose again and he has to wear it. But I think he should keep wearing it kind of like that one dude in the NFL.. I forget his name...

What were some of your favorite matches of the day?

KentuckyWrestling.com HS Rankings - 2007/2008 Pre-season November 14

I don't care, he scares me haha. He's a beast. -
which region will be the most competitive?
threequarter replied to meadecowrestler's topic in 2008 Season
region 4 will definitely be a tough region. I'm interested in seeing how region 5 will be this year with Fern Creek, OC, South Oldham, and North -
Maybe its because they're one of the better teams in their region. Who's the 103 though, how do you come up with him placing that high? I might be mistaken, but that's the kid who broke his leg last year at the Lonesome Invitational... He was 112 then.

103 25 NO Zach Richardson whos this?

Which team(s) or wrestler(s) do you think will be the underdogs this year?
-
I've seen in wrestlingone that there are these spandex shirts and shorts that work like singlets, its not underarmor but its similar. If you get a magazine just check them out.
-
the new north singlets are like our old finals singlets. the only difference is what is white on the finals (majority of the singlets) is now black and the black is white now. i like them a lot.

I was looking at the rankings and I saw Chris Martorano (sp?) was at like 18. He's one of North Oldham's key wrestlers and I've watched him, he has a nasty fireman's carry. I think he will end up doing a lot better than they have him ranked at now.
-
Thats good. Hopefully you will have a good season. I think we will be scrimmaging you on the 14th.
-
As long as North wrestles like they did last year. I saw them against Ryle... It was a close match.
-
I would recommend asking a teacher you're cool with also...
-
Wasn't Kip supposed to coach there? He was my coach for the USAA wrestling and he said he was going to Atherton... but I think Plee's idea is a great one. It would work
-
I think I read somewhere in a post that Seneca might change their region...
-
I remember last year (by luck or skill?) North Oldham made it to state duals and placed 9th. I don't know how their team will be this year but I'm interested to see how they do. I agree with you about St. X and region 4, that will be something I will be paying attention to.

I'm going to agree with the NOHS_Wrestling guy, the sport isn't about who can beat the crap out of who, I've made friends from different schools wrestling, and I'm sure everyone in here gets crap just like I do about wrestling. "Wrestlings gay" "You guys are pansies" "You're a twig you weigh 100 lbs you couldn't hurt anyone" I would love to tell these kids off but thats not going to do anything. If I could get these kids on the mat I would show them, but thats not going to happen. I think they should just do like NOHS_Wrestling's basketball team did and go through it so they can see how hard we work. We are elite but we don't need to be cocky about it, we don't want our sport to get a bad reputation. On the other hand, if someone says that wrestling doesn't require athletic ability and then you make a deal where you play his sport and he plays your sport (I've done that with my cousin, now he doesn't run his mouth :-D) then maybe he will realize how tough we all are...

Last year I really enjoyed watching Tommy Warren (Fern Creek) and Elliot Martin (Seneca) wrestle because they were great wrestlers. Tommy had his own little style to him, he was kind of a scrappy wrestler. Elliot was just dominant, he would walk out on the mat and pull moves on people. I also liked watching the 119 and 125 matches because they are 2 really tough weight classes. I think 125 will be an interesting class this year. I'm eager to see how they end up.

I think that tapping out should't be allowed. My reasoning is that if you're truly in pain, you'll be making some kind of noise or you will tell the ref you're done. I think that if it is allowed, a ref should be able to know when someone is faking it or if they are really hurt. I saw a few times last year when people were about to get pinned they would start tapping and saying they were getting hurt from moves like half nelsons...
