  1. Okay why the hell would Paul H be posting on ky wrestling during school I mean seriously this is exactly the type of horseplaying mentality that keeps kida from reaching Thai potential I see Stephen Cooper and Hamilton in so many rooms and practices and it looks more like romper room than wrestling room it's giggle table top kick start the head ear flicking a shot or sprawl here or there but nothing resembling a real practice whatsoever , I mean between a certain Sk dad yelling at his 3 yr old to shoot and hit a move most HS sr couldn't hit and the horseplay of the three middleweight stooges it's a wonder any kid in NKY can wrestle at all.

    At least Austin and a few others show up with game face on Faust obviously has learned how to tune Paul and Stephen out I hope the rest of CC do as well .

    Imagine Fussy calling someone BOBO LoL school must be fun in the modern age I couldn't imagine surfing the net when I was at CC during school . But I guess at CC wrestlers get special treatment . I wonder what coach B thinks of his wrestlers love of the sport duiring school yet at open Matt's at least away from CC its total anarchy no wonder those coaches from SK get on Hamilton for goofing off Nice reply by Hamilton though "you like our rings" ,that's classic , good stuff and yep BO BO is going to smash clowns like Stephen and Hamilton giving good hardworking focused kids like Austin clown nicknames , it's irony at its best

    Did they even have the internet back then? LOL, just messing with ya.

  2. I am glad that others agree that this forum does not have to take every thread down that people disagree in. While I understand some threads go to far and must be closed, I hate seeing threads closed or people wanting them closed when a nice debate/argument is going on. Of course not everyone is going to see eye to eye on every subject and I think that the kids and younger adults that get on here need to know that it is perfectly fine for you not to agree or have some one not agree with you. I have strong feelings on many things but if you come at me with a respectful argument you may very well change my mind on certain things. Having everyone agree with everyone or closing a thread when this does not happen teaches nothing.

  3. The difference I see is that the private schools dont really let a lot of kids just get by like you can easily do in public schools. I went to Pleasure Ridge Park, pushed myself, took honors classes and got a pretty good education. At college I was in the same classes as the kids that came from private schools and my bachelors degree is the same as theirs as well. In high school I seen a lot of kids do the minimum and get passed through. I would always joke on the people that would flunk out because all I figured you HAVE to do is show up to pass. From what I have heard, this does not happen as much in private schools like Trinity and X.

  4. If the Myers' brothers had a sane father then this might be worth discussing. Until that day, I say congratulations to Fahy on an excellent career and a well-deserved MOW. Also, congrats to both Myers boys for wrestling excellent tournaments...

    I think that the Myers looked like great wrestlers as well, no one is doubting that. You bring up a good argument. Lets say that Austin actually does get to stay at one school through his HS career(doubtful), he dominates everyone and never gets the OW award. I would say this is solely because of his Fathers antics. It's sad but you think that Dad would realize this and just keep quiet. Something must truly be wrong with him if he cannot see how his words and antics are actually hurting his kids in some ways. It would not suprise me if these two young men have some serious "daddy" issues when they get older. I hope I am wrong.

  5. Woodford has great coaches. Carr Jr. Is the best technician in the state..hands down. Little Rusty is a good technician too. Nothing to do with he coaches, I've heard through a good source that there is no parental support and the numbers are way down. I'm sure woodford will be back on top very shortly..I know I would have loved to wrestle for Jo Jr. And little parks. Very good guys and they know their stuff..they are yelling moves out constantly. I just think woodford needs more numbers and they'll be fine.

    This can be said for most teams in the state. I can remember sitting in the stands at state near Woodford. They would have a whole section just for them and they were usually the loudest. It seems they are lucky to get a fraction of those people attending now. Do their fans only follow them during championship years?

  6. Central is a great example of how wrestling has helped football and vise versa. I believe I remember reading something about the UK football coach saying he loved coaching ex wrestlers. Central has had a few of their wrestlers/football players go to division one schools to play football. One was drafted to the NFL not to long ago. If you have a D1 coach saying wrestling is good for football, how can any high school coach think otherwise, I don't see how they can justify it. Ballard had some very good teams in the early 2000's. After their coach(Great Guy) got cancer and passed away, the program went down hill very fast. Trinity and StX seem to do fine in football every year and a lot of their players wrestle as well.

  7. Happens every year that many deserving kids do not place. Luck of the draw, bad day, many reasons behind it. Same can be said for the opposite situation. Some kids step it up for one weekend, get a good draw, etc... This is part of the reason I find the state tourny interesting, there are no gaurantees on anything.

  8. The original thread is still locked so I figured people could post their results here.  Did not do so great this year but my bonus pick helped me out.

    Total= 85

    Bonus Felix cas de valle Ranked 7th, finished 2nd...  5 extra pts

    Grand Total=...... 90 pts......

    Everyone who paticipated, post them up.

  9. Caleb Ervin deserved it.  As much as MOW should be about the wrestler that wrestled the best that weekend, it usually isn't.  It seems to be more a career acheivement award.  Caleb had a GREAT high school career, great season, and great state tourny.  He teched 3:07 into the match in the finals.  He was deserving.  I say Fahy gets it next year barring any huge upsets because of it being his 4th championship and him probably dominating once again.
