    Sectional Dual Alignment

If they allowed teams who took second to be seeded I think this is how it would be seeded. Union: clear favorite Larue: head to head over Wayne Wayne: High win % John Hardin: win over WV Walton Verona: head to head loss to JH Harrison County: win % Pending a Larue win over JH, JH will be hard to beat if they fill the weight classes.

    Sectional Dual Alignment

I believe only the section winners are seeded. So the loser of John Hardin and Larue will not be seeded. So as of now Harrison will be drawn in along with the possibility of JH or Larue.

    Sectional Dual Alignment

Seeding small school will be an absolute mess. I see it as: Union Wayne Larue/John Hardin WV Franklin Sheldon Clark Based off of Sectional winners. I dont think anyone wants to draw a John Hardin/Larue or Harrison County in small school.

Do we have a master list of all region locations 1-8?
  6. Hats off to all of the finalists for CU and LW. They also have several that are going to AA. In one of my earlier posts I neglected to mention Thomas from LW and he shows me, he's an AA. Congratulations! I talked to several CU wrestlers about Ashbrook and they told me he has had blood pressure problems and he has been sick to go along with it. I really thought he and Nickle had a good shot at AA and making a lot of noise...shows how much I know about this crazy sport. I hope Ashbrook can get healthy and Nickle can continue to improve because they are good guys on and off the mat.
  7. I'm glad we get the transplants and I hope they make everyone step up their game. I was referring to the Mpire. His kids are fantastic on the mat, I just hope they can live up to the hype and if they can we will have two fine wrestlers at the next level. I am disappointed that the brackets won't come out until the 29th. It would make for some interesting discussion. Don't forget Jones from Campbellsville, he's tough. I will be pulling for all three KY schools, and I hope LW and U of C can knock off every Grand View kid they can to help Campbellsville bring the title to Ky. Have a safe trip.
  8. NAIA Nationals are in Des Moines, Iowa with Grand View being the "home" team and odds on favorite. I believe there are some wrestlers in Campbellsville that will have something to say about that and are not ready to hand Grand View the team title. I will be leaving around 2:00 am on Thursday morning, hopefully arriving before the opening matches and providing updates for KY teams and KY boys.
  9. I'm disappointed we can't get more people to comment on this thread. CU, LW, and Cumberlands have worked hard get to nationals and given a lot of KY boys a shot to continue their careers and we can't get anyone to congratulate them and encourage them next week. It will be hard to grow the sport in this state if we can't get behind the only college teams that do have a team. I guess we need a couple of OH transfers with an egomaniac for a father to generate some buzz for the NAIA Nationals...my bad.

    MOW

In my opinion this award was given before the tournament ever started. I'm not taking anything away from Fahy at all, but we all know it was his award if he won. Given the results, Myers should have won MOW going away. Neither weight class was stacked, so that being said, you compare results match by match and it's not even close. Myers absolutely dismantled every guy in front of him, as did Fahy, but the domination displayed by Myers is without rival. Mpire, I realize you are proud of your boys and you should be, but let their performance on the mat speak for them. The drama you may or may not create for them is a liability that may cost them in the future.
  11. Campbellsville should have a strong showing at the NAIA national tournament. If they can stay healthy, score bonus points, and avoid upsets, it is very possible that they can compete for a national title. I have to agree that Thurston and Jones are the favorites in their respective weight classes. At 141 Teague and Pretty both have a shot, at 157 Young may be peaking at the right time of the year with an impressive pin over Pingleton, 174 has Kentucky native Ashbrook wrestling strong-nothing flashy, just winning, 184 Scruggs may not be an offensive machine, but he also finds a way to win, and with Coach James in the corner for CU the rest of their line up can be very formidable. I had a chance to see some KY wrestlers this past weekend and they did a good job. I was surprised to see Courtney get pinned twice by the same guy and get beat in the 4th place match. I hear he has battled different injuries this year and 57 was a tough weight class, but honestly he looks like the same wrestler he was four years ago. He was by far the most accomplished KY wrestler there yet had the worst finish. Ashbrook had a couple of close matches, but managed to win. I know Stephens wasn't there, but he did what he needed to do. He could be the sleeper for Campbellsville this year and as far as KY boys go, I believe he has the best chance to AA. Gardner wrestled tough and was his usual scrappy self ending up finishing 3rd. Nickle looked good in his first match and then wound up getting pinned by a guy that got lucky (I think he did come back to pin him later). If he can avoid a let down he has a good shot to AA. We need to get behind all of our KY wrestlers on every level and cheer for them regardless of what team they are on. Courtney, Nickle, Ashbrook, and Gardner collectively have 5 state titles, numerous state places, and a bunch of wins on the high school level in KY so it's important that we all give them their just dues on this site.
  12. Very solid performance from Campbellsville, I hope KY wrestling fans appreciate the team and their accomplishments. Lindsey Wilson had a very disappointing tournament today and it kind of reflects their season this year.
  13. Campbellsville has Thurston, Teague, Pretty, Young, Ashbrook, Scruggs, Jones, and Adams in the finals. Lindsey Wilson has Klink and Pingleton in the finals. I haven't heard any team scores, but Campbellsville should win it going away.
  14. Heading into the semifinals Campbellsville is in first, Missouri Baptist second, followed by Shorter in third, and Lindsey Wilson in fourth. Campbellsville has all but one wrestler in the championship bracket.
  15. I believe Campbellsville has only lost one match and Lindsey Wilson is up and down so far. When I hear some team points I'll give everyone an update.
  16. Courtney just got pinned by Waldrop from Campbellsville.
  17. I wasn't aware of Adair County adding a program and yes, LW can take a lot of credit for generating interest in the sport throughout the community. Like I said, if Taylor County and Adair County will use the coaches and wrestlers around them, they could possibly create a couple of really good programs provided the kids come out and the parents and school district embrace the sport.
  18. I'm not saying there is not a passion for the sport of wrestling in the state of Kentucky, but we pale in comparison to Ohio. The sport is established in Ohio, while we are trying to grow the sport here. I believe we are on the right track with a few schools adding the sport each year. I believe Taylor County announced they are starting a team next year and the success of Campbellsville's wrestling program combined with their youth wrestling program in the community have made that possible. The counties around Campbellsville and Columbia have so many talented coaches and wrestlers to use as a resource that it would be a shame if we can't get more schools in that area to add such a challenging, rewarding sport. With the success of our high school wrestlers on the national level and the success of our in state NAIA programs we are headed in the right direction.
  19. I like the fact that there is a thread about this tournament and we are finally talking about how well Campbellsville and Lindsey Wilson are doing this year, but Hawk Eye you are quite the LW fan. Nothing wrong with that, but you might want to reign in some of your enthusiasm on some of your picks. 125- Larone Madison's to lose-clearly the best at this weight. 133- Tim Thurston is still a little rusty, but if he is on, Klink will get more than he can handle. 141- Advantage Campbellsville. Pretty has more experience, although he and Riley have split this year and Teague took it to Riley in their only match. 149- Not real sure here. If Milton wrestles the way he is capable I agree with you, but he can be inconsistent so this weight could be a crap shoot. 157- Should be the most entertaining with four wrestlers capable of winning, Pingleton, Young, Ramirez, and Waldrop. I would like to see Pingleton and Young again, but Ramirez is tough and Waldrop could be the sleeper. 165- At the beginning of the year I heard a lot about Haywood, but he hasn't lived up to the hype-if he can it would be a big win for LW. This weight is up for grabs. BTW has Courtney even wrestled this year? 174- Stephens is the favorite, but Ashbrook closed the gap in their last match losing 3-1. Could be an exciting finals match. 184- Keleher and Scruggs are who I see in the finals in a coin flip. 197- Jones from Campbellsville no doubt. Is Bradford even wrestling? Heavy- I'm pulling for Nickle because he is a KY boy and I don't know anything about any of the others. This should be a good tournament, but Campbellsville is clearly the favorite. Regardless of who wins, KY is well represented with our wrestlers and our schools, something all fans in the state should be proud of. If we want to grow wrestling in this state we need to get behind all of the wrestlers and all of the teams on every level and generate enthusiasm to create a wider fan base. Too bad this tournament and our state tournament are this weekend, it would have been great to have the opportunity to see them both this weekend.

Has anyone checked out the results on how the three Kentucky NAIA programs faired at National Duals this past weekend? I know we had numerous Kentucky boys wrestling, which is great for the state.
  21. Any predictions on how this dual will turn out? There will be several KY boys wrestling in this heated rivalry. Im almost positive there will be a live feed, so check out either school's website for the link. Dual starts at 7pm central time 8pm eastern time.
