This was sent by Mike Barren yesterday... This is being sent to all KHSAA Wrestling schools, through the Principal, Athletic Director and Head Coach. Administrators, since many of our coaches are not on the teaching faculty, we would greatly appreciate if you would forward this email to the coaches in case the email address we have on file is not correct I want to address a rule interpretation before it becomes an issue for some of you to address at your regional tournaments. NFHS Wrestling Rule 4,Sec. 5 Art. 5 states....Competitions that are postponed for one calendar day or more,for reasons beyond the control of the participating school(s), or practices that can not be held in these situations due to school policy shall be treated the same as competitions when there are consecutive days of competition in terms of the 1-pound allowance, with the exception of the required 48-hour notice. There are no modifications of this rule with regards to the regional and state tournaments, and therefore, if the situation arises, we will default to the written NFHS rule book. With that said, several key points need to be made.

Just got them this afternoon. Cannot upload to site at work. Everything is up now.

Region Results will be posted as we receive them at http://www.kyswa.org/2011.php We only have Region 2 so far. We will do the State Bracket Random Draw Monday night and post it on the website. Brackets will be completed soon after once we get all the results. Congrats to all the wrestlers for all their hard work so far this season!

140lbs: Sam Gnadinger- Oldham Co Jacob Patterson- Oldham Co Their only losses this season are to each other. The both were in the finals at District and Region against each other both times. Jacob won District and Sam won Region

Coaches have already been emailed this.... If any team in a Region did not have school today and was prohibited from practice...every team in that Region will get 1 additional pound tomorrow. The 2 pounds are a growth allowance that most kids at this age need b/c they are growing so much. The extra pound for missed practice due to weather is straight out of the NFHS rule book.

Believe it or not, the Region 1 Event is back on at Danville. In light of the fact that Girls basketball games were still going to be played tonight and tomorrow night in their County, Coach Sallee was able to get approval (out of fairness to all sports) to keep the event on as scheduled. They assured me, that there was no chance that it would be cancelled again. The schedule is the same as the original plan! Sorry for this mess and all the confusion

The Region 1 tournament at Danville has been cancelled. They are not allowed to use the facilities due to weather. This is unfortunate, but it is what it is. Coach Sallee at Danville will be in contact with all Region 1 coaches for reschedule plans. All other Regions are still on as planned.

All Region 1 coaches should have received an email (around 10pm) from Coach Sallee (Danville) starting a discussion on re-scheduling options. If you did not get it, please contact Coach Sallee
