How will the hiring of Bob Redman effect J-Town Wrestling and perhaps Male Wrstl
CoachBrown replied to stand-up's topic in 2010 Season
He's at Jeffersonville. -
The most weight you can get is 2 poundsover the course of the tournament. The wrestler would get to weigh 134, as usual. The following is a portion of an e-mail sent out regarding weight for the region and state tourneys. Remember, this is only a portion of the e-mail. +There are no modifications of this rule with regards to the regional and state tournaments, and therefore, if the situation arises, we will default to the written NFHS rule book. With that said, several key points need to be made. +The tournament manager then must notify all schools that they will receive a 1-pound allowance for the tournament. The weight class boundaries will be increased by one pound in this case, as well as the 1-pound growth for the second day in two day regions. +After notification, the school that originally asked for the allowance may not practice at all on that day prior to the region. However, there are no restrictions on the other competing teams in the region from having practice the day before the region. +Keep in mind that should this happen during the state week, the allowance of two pounds for the tournament will be enforced.

A lb. can be given if there is no school the day before, we know that. The most weight anyone can get, though, is 2 total pounds for atournament. That would be fine if this was a two day weigh-in, but it's not. So, the wrestlers will get a total of 2lbs., just like normal, over the course of the tournament.

Got a phone call a while ago that Mallory Ervin was on TV in the Miss USA pageant. Turned it onand she was in the final 12 and sang very well. Remember, she has sung the National Anthem at our state tournament the last few years. Good luck to Mallory. BTW, Dad, Gary was in the audience and they showed he and mom. Gary, you look good in a tux!

Mallory is 4th runner-up. Congratulations to Mallory and the Ervin family.

Trinity, Woodford Co., Ryle, Union Co., Mark Hall etc.
CoachBrown replied to CERON's topic in 2010 Season
Actually, say if a MI senior went to NHSCA tourney in Va.Beach, and this young man played a spring sport. He would be ineligible to play that sport. Just saw recently MHSAA is going to allow there kids to attend the FloNationals Open. -

I have spoken with Coach Coomes at Eastern. The JCTC will not be held today. The new plan is for 7 am weighins The coaches meeting will be at 7 am also. Hopefully wrestling will start around 9am.
-
My apologies, I am typing too fast. Weighins and coaches meeting will be Saturday morning @ 7am. There will be a 1 lb. allowance the first day, 2 lb. the second day.103 can weigh 106 then 107.
-
UC asked for, and received a waiver from the state commissioner. Anyone can do it.
-
The ref you are speaking of was told the meet would be over by 4pm,so he took the assignment. He stayed until 7pm with the threat of losing his job. He did the best he could with information he was given prior to the start of the meet and felt bad having to leave in the middle of it.

All 3 Trinity kids are in the quarters.Wrestle again in the morning.
-
Rod- We had it happen against us last year in the state tournament. I was caught off guard to say the least.
-
A FORFEIT normally means something has happened to the wrestler that was entered at a particular weight, for example, an injury or the wrestler was disqualified. Otherwise it is called a BYE, as was previously stated, and no points are awarded (though advancement pts. are).

Kentuckywrestling.com HS Rankings 2009/2010 - December 5
CoachBrown replied to Ranger123's topic in High School Rankings
I am not sure of Ohio's bylaws, but I know for sure that middle schoolers cannot wrestle in Indiana. Even when Indiana schools come over here they are not allowed to wrestle middle school kids. -
Fahy lost to Rodriguez 6-2.
