Btw, as far as I know there is no rule against private school kids doing it. It is an agreement among the private schools not to do it.

Both Coach Tressel and Coach Fickell told me they were happy to have Jordan wrestle his Senior year. This was after they watched a dual with us and Floyd Central.At one point there was an article online where Coach Fickell talked of recruiting kids who wrestled (btw, Luke Fickell is considered one of, if not the best high school hwt. in Ohio history)

I had the pleasure of getting to know Jordan, his brother Alex, and Josh Johnson when they used to train at Trinity in the spring and summer months. Once Jordan started wrestling he immersed himself in it and accomplished great things while having little or no experience prior to High school. What a terrible loss this is. From the Trinity Wrestling family,our thoughts and prayers go out to the Murphy family in this difficult time.

Open mat at Trinity starts up again this evening from 6-7:30pm. It will be Tuesday and Thursday from 6-7:30pm. Also, this is a reminder of the BGSG weighin at Trinity from 6-7pm.

The KYWCA region representatives have discussed many issues concerning the State Tournament. This being the first year at the KHP there were some areas that needed to be addressed. Realize, though, that it took this first year to see what needed to be addressed. Some of the things discussed off the top of my head: -scoreboards moved to the inside corners of the mats to not obstruct viewing -Semifinal round lost its luster this year because there were only 2 matches going on at a time -Elevated finals mat(was told it was a liability issue this year) -Lighting change(It was too dark for the finals, either turn all the lights on or get a spotlight) -The floor was bought specifically for the State tournament (why it had holes would have to be answered by someone else.) -Another stairway to the floor(I believe this has already been addressed These are a few things talked about for upcoming years. Happy 4th!

Trinity will host its annual youth Wrestling camp from June18-June 21--9am -12;30pm. 3rd--9th grade to be Cost-$110 ( includes camp t-shirt) Clinicians will be: Myron Bradbury 4X State placer, 2X State Champ, wrestles for Lindsey Wilson Isaac Thomas 3X State placer, State champ, 2012 All American for Lindsey Wilson Trenton Kulmer State placer, wrestles for Lindsey Wilson Brendan Darrow 3X State placer, State finalist Trinity Wrestlers and Youth coaches will be in attendance as well. 2012_Trinity_Wrestling_Camp-1.doc

We had close to 30 kids on Tuesday night from grade school to high school at Trinity. Very good workout. Come join us.

In the interview after the match, Dake said he would go whatever weight helped Cornell to a team title.

I have seen other forums talk about California numbers and I believe it is just above 800 schools with wrestling teams.

They very well may have a club currently, but from what I have seen, over time there have been former HS wrestlers at UK who want to get back into the sport.Every few years the club will start up and go for a season or two and then go dormant for a couple of years after whoever picked it up gets a heavy class load, job, or graduates. This is until the next group of former wrestlers comes along and starts it up again.
