Drew Newberry has a torn supraspinatus. He did it in practice about 3 weeks ago. The Doctors advised him not to wrestle anymore this year. He (the doctor) said nobody could stand the pain & he would basically be going out with one arm. Drew did not want to let down his team. He continued to go to practice each day. He tried to go at the State Duals & just didn't have it. A one armed 8th grader at 215. He also wanted to give Middle School a try. On Saturday he over came extreme pain & won not only a personal championship he also was informed by his coaches that for LaRue County to be 3 time state champs he would need to win by pin. I know a lot of you were not impressed with his performance on Saturday. I thought he showed true the true HEART & determination of a CHAMPION. Drew will under go surgery Tuesday February 5. His parents & team should be VERY PROUD>
