This is what drives me nuts about how khsaa runs the state tourney. I mean, how in the world can you have a blind draw? Every year we see things like the 103 bracket this year with a ton of the top guys in one side of the bracket. You're telling me that there is no other way to set it up? come on, what a joke!

Yeah, but didn't the Bryan Station heavy win?

385, if you had Trey Gentry of Woodford as your dark horse you would have scored even more. I don't think he was even ranked coming in. :-D
-
MIke Barren is running it now. You might want to check with him as well.

Wish I had thought of that! :-D -
I doubt it, since he is listed on the roster as having a 2-3 record.

don't you mean 2 points for Jo mamma for the early take down :-D

It amazes me that a lot of guys don't realize how good their coaches are until they get away from the program. Sure the Woodford guys know about Joe Sr and Jr's stats, but I've talked to a couple of guys that were wrestling collegiately and they were complaining that their college coach wasn't very good or didn't really know what he was doing. I told them, think about who was your coach in high school. You can almost see the light bulb above their heads light up as they realize how much they learned from Coach Carr. I'm sure there are a lot of others on here that have seen that as well when they get away from their high school. My father is 65, and played college basketball but he still talks about how much he learned from his high school coach. You should thank your coach for everything he does for you because you will no truly understand until you look back.

That is 100% true, but in the state of Kentucky, Harrison has shown that he is unbeatable since his sophmore year. You can say what you want about the refs during his matches but his numbers are set in stone.
-
yes, Headley and Carr were on the team. If anyone remembers Chad Scott from Woodford, his father had earned a scholarship to wrestle at UK but they dropped the program soon after he got here.

Something my parents taught me long ago, life is NOT fair.

It's run by the coaches association, so if they want to get it done, it will get done. You know the wrestlers want to do it, so put the pressure on the coaches to see if you can get it done. Check the Khsaa rules as well, knowing them, they don't want anything to rival what they are doing (don't want to give money to anyone else) so there may be some rule to kill the idea of rescheduling.

You're all wrong about the importance of baskball over werstling. The All "A" basketball tournament was able to continue because just about every school was there before the storm hit. I talked to one of the athletic trainers working there and he said it was useless to cancel when the teams were already there. I think there was a bit of a delay but otherwise they were there so go ahead.

Are we talking about South Oldham or southern high school? Sorry, I'm not that bright. I know South Oldham had a couple of serious injuries so it makes sense that they would not make it.
-
Thank you...that is a bit of genius

So if we move it to say Bowling Green, then the eastern part of the state will probably not show up and if we move it to Paintville we won't get the western part of the state. As much as people want to whine, Lexington is one of the easiest places to host it. Or, you could talk to your coach to work on getting it moved.

Richard Starks -US Military Academy, ranked in the top 20 most of this year.

tell them to show up next time and we'll know how they would have done... :-D

I've been a certified athletic trainer for nine years with experience at the D1, D2 and high school level and have worked with individual professional athletes. I and all the other certified athletic trainers are completely qualified to determine the medical abillity of an athlete to compete. That is what we are trained to do and it is our job. I won't comment on this particular question though because I don't know all the facts. Suffice to say I have overruled a doctor before. It won't happen often, but once in a while an odd situation will occur and I have to act in the best interest of the athlete.

I talked to Coach Carr about that once. He says it wasn't dropped because of title 9, but for the fact of spending money else where. Title 9 was just a convenient excuse.

Holy crap you couldn't be more wrong!!! They in fact had 2 lol :-D

Oh man that was a great match to watch. Both were working for every little bit.
-
Well, so far they have broadcasted soccer (men's and women's), basketball (men's and women's), wrestling, and football. I am pretty sure they will be broadcasting every sport now that they have the ability. Over 3000 people watched the finals of WCI and over 12,000 watched the women's soccer game against East Jessimine. So I would say that tennis will get some coverage as well.

I guess I'm late to this, but how is Zarth not ranked 1? Has Osborne beaten him?

I talked to Ethan on Saturday. He won his match, and I think MSJ won the dual.
