I've not been able to find information on the regionals for youth anywhere. Eastern KY is under Region 5 if it hasn't changed with Johnson County, Martin County, Pike county, Letcher County, Perry County and anyone else in the neighborhood who wants in. Anyone have any information to share?

The area was to small for her to play on the floor, and I did not let her run around the arena.... . Also, what in Haiti was the restriction that you could only take photos, or record matches, from your seat, and were not allowed to use a tripod? You are to be commended for not letting your daughter run around the arena. I was run over several times by youngsters during the weekend when I didn't dodge quick enough. The reason the tripods were not allowed, I was informed, was that a girl crashed into one during Friday's matches and they were afraid of more incidents ( I read that as possible lawsuits). We were allowed to use ours at our seat as long as the legs were not unfolded from the center and it was immediately retracted when finished.

Thank you for the clarification on our behalf, there is not a day goes by without missing our middle son. Perry Central is also hosting the Region 8 Duals on January 14 at the Perry Central High School gym (first time for mats on the basketball floor). We also have the Freedom Classic Tournament December 22 and the Commodore Invitational Tournament February 4, both at the Sherman Neace Athletic Center.

Good question--you couldn't see the wrestlers above the shoulders at all.

The point was deducted from the Heavyweight tossing his headgear. Saw too much of that happening at state. Scorer made a mistake.

PCC coaches were told by Shaw it was an injury default because the whistle blew and Hollon couldn't hear it over Unions crowd yelling for another match. Don't know where the DQ came from.

Chaney coached from 1999-2005 and seldom kept more than half dozen. Had strong 215, 103, 140 with a few others sprinkled in. Not exactly matching weights.

It was interesting to see Durbin come off the mat with a sly grin and pumping his fist by his side after his drama performance on the mat with Hollon. Couldn't handle being down to Hollon and took the wimpy way to the top. Not MOW material by any standard.

Totally disagree. When Perry Central started under Coach Paul Chaney he usually had about 6 wrestlers with no match ups in weight and came away with medalists at state many times.

Apparently Louisville is considered central because they discount the presence of Region 8 in the east.
