The biggest problem IMO was wrestlers leaving or dropping out after losing their first match and not having the courtesy to inform them at the scorer's table. This resulted in many delays waiting on wrestlers. Thanks Coach McCoy, Coach Clark, Coach Upchurch, and the announcer(Sorry don't know this gentlemans name) for working all day without a break. If you took a break, I missed it. It must have been when I was on one of several I took. Thanks again..

Got me a copy several years ago from a video store that was going out of business. Cost me 2 bucks.

Bryan Daniels of Wayne County also beat Zarth 4-0 in the 119 pound finals for the Junior division.

Great Post,
I had many of the same thoughts but am an "apprentice" writer at best.

Well said byrddog.
Class act!

Hang in there Ryan and come back next year stronger than ever.
In case some of you don't know, Ryan suffered a dislocated elbow in the semifinals with 23 seconds remaining leading North Hardin's Jones 8-4 at 189lbs. I myself had circled this match in my brackets as 1 not to miss when the brackets were posted. Great match - Hope to see you 2 meeting up again the next couple of years.

These 3 may not be state champions next year but watch out for them.
3rd grader Geordon Blanton of Johnson County - 5th @ 70 pounds
3rd grader David Rich of Gray - didn't place but excellent wrestler
3rd grader Johnny Meiman of Gray - 4th @ 75 pounds
These 3 are very young and talented.

Kincer won by a score of 7-6.
You may have read that Kincer destroyed Salyers but it never happened.
Again, Did Kincer wrestle in the Beast of the Southeast at Letcher in early December?
-
Johnson County Middle was 7th as a team with 77.5 points.
Tates Creek was 7th as a club with 12 points.
Middle School is divided into team and club divisions.
Tates Creek would not have been in the 20 in the team division.

Did Kincer wrestle at the Letcher County Tournament on December the 2nd?
If he did I don't believe he won that tournament. That would make 2 losses I know of if he did wrestle.
Salyers won at 103.
I believe Buchannon Upshur won at 112.
Spencer of JC won at 119.
Salyers or Kincer will be the #1 seed
Overall record is not 1 of the top 2 criteria. If that was the case, some would not wrestle the best competetion.
-
103
1-Salyers, Split with Kincer, I would think Salyers would be 1 on criteria concerning common opponents.
130
1-Grimm, Same criteria
I could be wrong on this but I don't think so.

Luke Metzger won it after losing to Billy Clark in Regional Finals as mentioned earlier.
I'm not sure but I believe the following Doug Upchurch of Wayne County won it after losing to Billy Clark in Region. Clark had appendicitis and didn't get to compete at state that year. He won it the following year.

165 - Conner Coyle of Gray in OT I believe
185 - Jones of Henderson over Newberry of Larue by pin
Hwt - Smith of Inez decision over Staten of McCreary
Congratulations to all participants.
Congratulations to Larue for team title and Union County for club title.
Middle school wrestling in Kentucky has improved tremendously in the past few years.
-
I'm with Low Single on Spencer at 112 and Kelly at 189 in Region 8.
These 2 could both reach the finals.
I believe the only in state loss for Spencer was to Zarth of Henry Clay earlier in the year at 119.
-
103 looks awful tough.
-
I agree. Regional results and state tournament pairings should have been already posted.
-
What were the results in each weigh class?
Someone please post results.

I haven't seen Ashland yet this year but I find it hard to believe that they don't have anyone who deserves to be ranked.
-
Congratulations to everyone who made this team. Keep up the good work

I think Frankfort is a great place for the state wrestling finals.
The only problem I have with it is the lack of space to add more mats for all other rounds.
If you could run 6-8 mats for these rounds, the tournament would be so much better.
