Exciting individual match ups were: Ryan Kelly SC defeated Tyler Pace Wayne 13-6 Ryan Harlow JC defeated Brandon Bell Wayne 1-0 Casey Delong SC defeated Matt Sullivan Wayne 5-4 Jordan Freeman JC defeated Casey Delong SC 4-3 (official awarded Freeman one point for a pushout to decide match very sad) Tyler Grimm JC defeated Avery Ray SC 2-0 (Ray is going to suprise some people this year he is definately a sleeper) Corey Vincent from Anderson County Beat Ray 3-0 Saturday at Montgomery Co and Lost to Grimm only 5-0. He has also Tech falled Nelson County at the second regional duals in Danville. -
Hmm....could be a few trying for the varsity spot at 130 next year at ACHS.
-
Was McCall not even approached about being on the team since he did wrestle at that weight all year and state? And, although Hull is a good wrestler, he did not even wrestle at state since he was over weight for 117. I may be wrong, but if a state champ at a weight class is first in line, then the state second placer would be the next obvious choice. Or even someone who wrestled state at either 117 or 131 before someone who didn't even wrestle.

If someone sends an email with the info, will there be a reply sent back letting them know if they are officially registered? -
Definitely! Harrison is very long and that can be deceiving. he has long legs but he is definitely strong upper body as well. good point.
-
He is a very good wrestler and I wouldnt be suprised if he took state this year and next. I'm not sure on his record either but his number of wins at the end of his carrer is going to be outstanding. If anyone knows his record please post it!

There are 15 teams in region 4, including Woodford, Bourbon, Anderson, Franklin, Johnson, and McCreay.
-
would seem to me that it shouldn't be allowed for a middle schooler to take a high schoolers spot on a high school team no matter how good they are. I am not sure of the rules on this. Does each County have their own rules since Unions seems to be different?
-
Hey Sammy, no love for Jacob? I see how it is.
-
Are middle school wrestlers wrestling in high school only of there is an open spot on the high school team?
-
you are right on. Anderson had a wrestler who lost his first match in pigtails, worked his butt off winning the next three, and then had to settle for 6th with no chance of even getting to be an alternate. (Shea Sparrow 96#) Woodford, Anderson, and Bourbon wrestled each other about every other week, and hadn't seen Johnson until yesterday. They have a terrific team, and it would have been good for all teams if they had seen each other at least once before regions. I also think that McCreary did a good job running the tournament considering the pigtails and 15 teams.

Well, Eric Cunningham went in to the night with only a couple losses on his record. He had one match with some questionable ref calls, and was beaten by a couple guys, who also deserving, he had beaten before. He's a good wrestler who had an off night. And not to mention any names, but there were a couple wrestlers who I feel are not as good as some that didn't place higher. It's just how it turns out sometimes, and with so much on the line, it can be disappointing to see some not achieve it.
-
I think there were a lot of upsets last night. Some people that didn't make it to state last night should be going. Ryan Mckinnon from Elkhorn, Eric Cunningham from Anderson, and Wyatt Courtney from Woodford, and Mason Baker, from Anderson, just to name a few.
