    Dylan West

Dylan really is one of the good ones. Really missed seeing him on the mat this year.

Central Hardin's Cole Overman got beat by Jonathan Little from North Hardin.

    region predicitions

The 126-pound bracket in Region 2 has changed. Alex Lee has had to drop out because of injury, so everyone behind him moves up in seeding. LaRue's Dalton Bell is now No. 2, Taylor's Griffin Hall is No. 3 and North's Jake Burroughs is fourth.
  4. If you guys want/need any help, I'm game.

Don't see Apollo making a run at the title, but I've been wrong before.

    Most Regional Titles by Team

How does that skew the regional results?

top ten ky wrestlers never to win a state title?

Jordan was great. His passing was a real punch in the gut.

    Ft. Knox

This list is missing one team. Coach Cullen couldn't remember that team when I just spoke with him, but I'll have it later. Woodford County, Male, Central Hardin, John Hardin, Fort Knox, Caldwell County, Montgomery County, Owensboro, Daviess County, PRP, Nelson County, Whitesville Trinity, UHA, Thomas Nelson, Lafayette, Shawnee.

    state duals SMALL SCHOOL

It's pretty useless until they release the seedings.

    State dual qualifiers

Not piling on or anything, but I have one question. If the sectionals were done geographically, why was Woodford County competing at John Hardin? Wouldn't it have made sense to send them to Lexington?

    Wrestling in Bowling Green

Is it a Title 9 issue? I guess schools figure it's cheaper to not add wrestling, plus a girls' sport to balance things out.

    Section 4

I got to watch the last couple of matches and it was back and forth. There were a few iffy calls, IMHO, but you're gonna have that in any match.

    State dual qualifiers

Neverbreak, I get that. But what I'm wondering is why teams can't have the duals penciled in on their schedule and have another on the docket just in case they don't qualify? I know a few teams around my area did that, choosing to enter Fort Knox's tournament in case they didn't make it to State Duals. I'm not trying to argue anything; just trying to better understand it all.

    Section 4

The Oldham-North match was pretty dang good. Oldham was up 36-33 in the final match, which had to be stopped because of Jake Burroughs' breathing issues. Joe B stopped it 17 seconds into the third period.

    State dual qualifiers

Who mentioned Canter? Yeah, he was great to work with, but he wasn't the only one saying the State Duals were a big deal. And I agree with you that it's been further watered down by the split. I don't know how to "fix" it, either.

    State dual qualifiers

Just my two cents, but that's ridiculous. What's one Saturday to set aside for this? Qualifying for State Duals used to be a big deal, because a lot of folks felt that it crowned the true team state champs. It's almost sad what it's become now, with teams choosing not to participate for whatever reason. If an illness has hit their team, that's one thing.
  17. Thanks for the update, Ranger.

    duals

Uh ... they have to qualify for those. You can't just enter them.

Good deal. I can follow along from work that day.

Anyone got a list of teams going to KOB?

Breathing Issues at the Horse Park

Not sure why they couldn't have done that to begin with. Common sense says folks were going to have breathing issues, what all the dirt and dander floating around in the arena.

Breathing Issues at the Horse Park

EKU's arena, IIRC, isn't big enough to put down six mats. KSU has an on-campus gym, but it isn't very big and doubles as the student activity center. Kentucky State rarely, if ever, plays at the Civic Center. I'd be in favor of bringing districts back, especially since the regions are getting so crowded and spaced out even more. Region 2 stretches from Meade County to Owensboro now. I wish there was a way to move the central time zone teams to another region, but it is what it is.
