    Travis Sullivan and Dalton Evans

119 is shaping up to be a really tough weight especially if these three are all there along with a couple returning 119 such as Johnson. Don't forget about little Voth or Spencer both very capable of wrestling tough.

    Travis Sullivan and Dalton Evans

Nobody has forgot this but did you see him get owned for about fivminutes and twenty seconds of the finals last year. If Evans would have stalled out with a spiral ride and not tried for the pin he would finished the match with not only a win but by dominating. Yes Sullivan won the match and you can use the argument of he finds a way to win, but if you were watching the match you could clearly see who was the better wrestler THAT DAY!! We will have to wait and see. Sullivan, Evans, and Zarth would make for a rough weight class. Evans and Zarth met last year I think?? It was a very close match from what I hear.. Anybody have any insight?

    Travis Sullivan and Dalton Evans

If this match happens again I would say Evans just because of how he controlled Sullivan the whole match and that he has enn getting closer and closer every time they wrestle. With that said Sullivan does always have that homerun factor of being a pinner and that always has a chance of determining the outcome. Sullivan has more to lose and Evans should have a huge hunger now that he knows he can beat Sullivan. Does anyone know what they are weighing now or what weight they plan to wrestle next year?

    Unsportsman like conduct

I seen this match as well and Specer actualy did hit frasier with an uppercut and got hit for unsportsman like and yes it was very unclassy. I also seen the 215 match and luckily Dials ducked it tok him down and got to shake his hand.

    Vote For Your MOW ?

I think Zarth from Henry Clay should have got it. I am not sure but I dont think he was scored on but once the whole tournament and this was suppose to be the toughest weight class. He controlled everyone.

    State bracket - 112

    That is very well said.

    State bracket - 112

I do believe that will be the finals match but Evans is wrestling really tough beating Spencer in the Semis at regional and losing o Sullivan 6-7 in finals. Could be a great second round match. I also think Spencer will beat Voth in the second round.

    Proving the "Student" wrong....I hope!

Here we go again, this was over and you keep bringing it back up so who is doing the "crying"? I simply stated my opinion of the thing, and you stated yours, as well as others. It worked for him and it will continue to work for many others despite your opinion on the thing so you might want to go ahead and quit. I AM NOT SAYING TO TEACH THIS TO YOUR KIDS BUT IT HAS WORKED AND IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE KID FROM "TRINITY I THINK" WAS HURT, CHOKING, STRATEGY, OR WHAT EVER.THE POINT IS HE GOT OFF HIS BACK AND BEAT THE OTHER KID, SO I THINK IF IT WAS STRATEGY THEN IT WAS A GOOD MOVE. Get off you soap box and dont let what other people say bother you so much. I hope this concludes our discussion.

    Dragon Results

Well I thought we dropped this topic but here goes some guy trying to get his two cents worth. Actually I am not a coach but I was taught in COLLEGE and it has never came into play with me because I rarely go to my back but I see it happen all the time and not only when people are on their back. For example when someone is having their shoulder cranked on and they are obviously going to their back so they squeal a little and the ref stops it, you have probably done it D.W. considering most people have. The other thing is maye he cried maybe he just yelled a little I dont know I was not there, either way he got off his back and did not get "laced on his face again" and he got the pin. I am not saying that this needs to be taught to kids so they do it everytime they are on their backs, but it is a very smart move. You can call it what you want D.W..

Which Weight Class Is The Toughest?

I will keep this in mind at state and see where you fall in the end. I hope you do well, but when you get to state all the forfeit are eliminated. I do agree with you on the 103 it is very weak this year but 171 is no where near in the same league as 112 and 119 this year even though it has several great wrestlers in it.

Actually no I am not kidding. Its the same concept of if you get burned on a pass play in football and you grab a little jersey to slow him down and the ref does not catch it, you take a charge and fall to your back in basetball although you really was not set bt you get the call, you scream and fall to the ground in soccer when really your opponnet gets all ball but the ref calls a penalty thinking you got kicked in the leg. I could go on and on. I would not teach this to my wrestlers but I do think it is a very strategic move and won him and many others matches. If you ever watch any higher level of wrestling this happens alot especially if someone gets in a tight position, sometimes the ref stops it and soetimes the ref lets it go. It is up to the ref to stop it or not just like in any ither sports.

I would call it more on the lines of smart wrestler. I did not see the match but if you think you are going to get pinned then you should do what you have to do to get off but this is just my opinion.

Which Weight Class Is The Toughest?

How else would you analyze these two weight classes if not head to head. Isnt head to head how every tournament is seeded? I dont understand your logic about middle schoolers making it to state because if they do make it to state in either the 112 or 119 pound weight class then they obviously are good enough to be there and beat high schoolers to get there. I respect your opinion so thanks for commenting on this topic but I still think I have the best logical explaination with if we match them up right now even if they are in two different weight classes the 112 pounders would beat the 119 pounders in a dual meet or tournament points standard.

    Capital City Classic - 1/20/07

See I saw the first match and it seemed like Frazier was in control and thats why I thought he would win again.

Didnt Frazier beat Voth earlier this year at 112

Which Weight Class Is The Toughest?

I would have to say 112 is right in with the mix. Lets compare 112 to 119 and see 112-Sullivan 119-Parks Sullivan wins this match 2-0 vs parks Carr Zeppa Carr wins hands down Cornett Daniels Close one maybe Daniels pulls one off Spencer Wood another close one depends on which Woods shows up Frasier Zarth I think Zarth wins this but Frasier did place higher last year Voth Chui Cui is just to up and down while Voth is getting better and better Voth wins Smith Barton Have not seen a whole lot of either wrestler???? Scheuer Norwood Again same as last ???? Evans Supe Evans wins without a doubt. This is top nine in each weight so you decide. I have 4-3 with the 112pounders leading with two ???? matches. Lets not forget I am matching 112 against 119, so If you match them up in their own weight classes it seems 112 is a much tougher weight class.
  19. Yeah they weighed in really low wit Sullivan arond 106.something, Daniels 116.something, and Vinsant 122.something. Wayne could be team to look out for at state if these three can get a little help from their teammates.

    State Predictions

GREAT Post. Anyone who has ever seen Sullivan wrestle knows that he is a great wrestler and probably could win 103,112,or 119 this year but he is a team player and is doing what is best for his team. Colleges will loo at him no matter what weight he wrestles they just might be smaller colleges. From what I have heard he has his mind made up on Campbellsville anyway. The reason for this I dont know because he is much more talented then to limit his self to this college. If I were in his shoes I would at least be looking at the better college in the state (UOTC) and even some small DI, DII, and DIII schools. The reason Sullivan is so good is because of his confidence that he will not be beat. Will some people be in a close match with him, of course especially if he is cutting alot of weight or injured, but no one will beat him this year for sure. For the Parks Sullivan match last year yes Sullivan was gased out but he did control the match and the reason Parks could not finish a shot is Sullivans credit not Shanes discredit.

    Region 8 champions

I am not from this region but I have had the chance to see a few of these wrestlers this season and I agree with your 103 and probably 112 but Spencer dropping down and Evans wrestling tougher and tougher we will have to see. 119 Vinsant and sloan good match but both will favor better at state at 125 so their coach may want to look that over. 130? 135 Kennedy wc, 140 probably right not sure, 145 freeman or winchester, Stevens has yet to make this weight plus kind of like the rest of Mccreary stay out of headlock and you will win. 160 probably Stevens not Shoopman. 171 Singley hands down I think he has pinned or teched Harlow everytime I seen them wrestle last year and he has only lost one match this year. 189 Kely if he gets head whip Roe if it is close match both are way out of shape and look for big moves only. 215 Watson with a throw unless someone can keep him close to the third where he will gas. HWT who knows

    119 TOUGHEST WEIGHTCLASS!!!

This weight class is tough but it is very up and down. Two of the kids you have on here have already quit once this year so who is to say that their heads are even anywhere near what it is suppose to be. The other thing is everybody keeps losing to everyone else. I saw Parks get man handled by Zarth at the Bourbon Bash and then I hear he beat Zarth pretty bad at the regional duals. I say this could be a tough weigh class but wh knows somebody may quit tommorrow or wrestle really well one day and then just wrestle like crap the next. 112 is still the toughest in my opinion. you Have Sullivan if he stays and Daniels if he drops, Cornett, Voth, Carpenter-Frasier, Spencer if he drops, Evans (had a really tough match with Parks at Bourbon), Scherer is coming on very tough, and many others that are ranked higher then most of these guys.
  23. So Wayne Counties three headed monster has officially dropped weight? (Sullivan 103, Daniels 112, Vinsant 119) I saw them wrestle just last weekend and they were still at their other weights 112,119 and 125, have they dropped or this just an assumption that they are going to drop.?
  24. yea i think he pined him in the 2nd.

    Wrestling without being assessed

I think the punishment should be that they cannot wrestle until they are assessed starting now, or we could just all go what ever weight we want starting now? I agree with the person who said that some coaches know how to work the system and will always do that and you cant really stop them but like Teresa said rules are rules and we should follow them as wrestlers, coaches, and parents. Why don't some of these coaches that have not assessed their wrestlers yet get on here and justify their reasoning.
