    Wrestling without being assessed

I would agree that some type of punshment should come about but maybe it should be something like they are not allowed to drop anymore weight even when we get the two pounds. This is not a confusing rule considering they put on a clinic in Lexington free of charge for anyone who wanted to attend. If you could not attend then you should have sent your assistant or a parent. This rule is only confusing if you make it confusing. Once you have your assessment done which we have been doing for t least one year now then you just have to punch the numbers into the computer and then it tells you exactly what weight you can go that week, then after you weigh in you punch your weight that you weighed in at into the computer and it calculates your next weight in. Seems pretty clear cut to me and I am computer illiterate.

    Best match

I think Sullivan would beat Coty hands down considering Ross Carpernter Frasier beat Lewis last year and then Frasier got beat soundly by Vinsant and Sullivan beats Vinsant easily now even when Vinsant is up two weight classes. I am going to say if Vinsant stays at 125 which probably wont happen and Lewis is at 125 then Vnsant wins by at least three. Another thing the Sullivan vs. Martin matxh hapened last year and Sullivan pinned him really quick and you might get to see that match again, considering Sullivan is weighing in naturaly at about 110.
  3. Hey Ranger just wanted to let you know you still have Steven Watson ranked at 171 and he is not eligible to wrestle this weight class this year. I also have a question about Johnson Central. I heard they wrestled a match and they still have not got their weight assessment done so wouldn't that be illegal?

    Region 8 outcome @ region & state

IMO! Sullivan is going t slide back to three by the end of year and win it Daniels is going to drop to 112 and win it, Vinsant is goig 119 and win it. Who is Roscoe from Mccreary? If Stephens makes it to 152 then it will be a battle between him and Winchester but Winchester wins it. For this reason Stephens will win 160. Singley wins 171 unless Dials makes it then we will just see which Singley shows up. Sheldon Clark wins 189 unless roe of mccreary makes it and then we will see. watson wins 215. I dont know about the rest

"Who Will go Undefeated this Year?"

I dont think Martin will go undefeated because IMO I think Sullivan will drop back down to three and then we know what will happen. He is only weighing around 109 now.

    Stalling in KY

I would like to know what everyone else thinks about how refs call stalling in KY. I think the refs call stalling so inconsistent through out the state. I hate watching two guys push each other around the ring for six minuteswithout tking a shot and only get hit for stalling once maybe twice. You see this alot at the heavier weights but now I am starting to see wrestlers (even in the lower weights) lay on the mat or just stay in a good position on bottom and waiting on the top guy to make a mistake. I know coaches are not teaching this to their wrestlers so why are more and more of it happening. I think the refs need to start calling stalling at a much more consistent and faster rate, and that would hel out with this problem.I can't remeber a time in the past couple of years where a kid has got DQ for stalling, but I have seen several cases where it should have happened. What do you all think?
  7. I heard that Sam Scheuer of Ryle is going 112. He lost to Sullivan and bumped up to wrestle a light Dalton Evans last week and Tech falled him. Also Daniels Of Wayne beat Evans last week not sure of score. Watch out for Scheuer at 112. I think you do a great job on the rankings but you should rank people where they have been wrestling not where they are going to wrestle acooring to people on here. For Example Starks has been wrestling 215 and should be ranked their, Coty Lewis hasn't even been wrestling(don't know why)? This is just my opinion.

    Stalling in KY

I apologize if it sounds like I am really mad at you that is simply not the case. What I am mad about is the way stalling is being treated around the state. It only seems to me that stalling is being rewarded with slow warnings or maybe even the first stalling point and never a second point even when it should be given. To your point about making the fight come to you when you are up is not very smart. As long as you are not coming in wild trying to lock up or throw yourself how can you be thrown. If I am up in a match I will definetly still be attacking but in a controled manner to keep my opponent on guard and keep them from attacking me. You should always look for those bonus points (major, tech, or pin) for your team points and to put know doubt in your opponents mind that he was ever in the match.

    Stalling in KY

Wow!! you are one of those guys that I am talking about. Just because you are up on points does not mean you have the right to stop wrestling. Also yes it is important to gain wrist control but you can not lay on your somach fighting for wrist control as the top man tries to work for a pin, this would be stalling and should be hit by the referee within a short amount of time. Just in case you didn't know wrist control can usually be obtain much better on your knees then laying flat with all of your weight and your opponets weight on your wrist, and what's even better then that is fighting for control on your feet.

    Stalling in KY

What I have ben seeing in the past couple of years includes what most of you are saying, it is becoming a technique theefore it is used more often then it use to be. I think if a kid is laying on his stomach, just not moving in a good down position, running from a man on his feet, or just not taking a shot on his feet when the other guy is clearly being offensive taking shots, then it should be called stalling. If someone is just going out there trying not to be pinned or trying not to lose by two many points then the ref should penalize them for that and get them off the mat.
  11. Where is Shane Parks this year? He is not on the Woodford assessment page, so that means he has not been assessed. Neither has Coty Lewis. I saw Shane this summer and it looked like he was around 135. I think that Coty Lewis will go 119 and Shane will jump to 125, but just my opinion.

    region 8 rankings

I wouldnt necessarily say that Sullivan is going to win 112 because he may go 103 or 119. I do agree he can win it at what ever weight he wants. Cory Spencer will not win 119 because of Bryan Daniels of Wayne, also heard Evans is going 119 which will be a test for Spencer. What if Sloan goes 119 he is tough as well. I would like to see Sloan and Sullivan, it would be a good test for Sullivan even though he would probably be victorious. Good luck to all the guys this year.
