  1. Bailey is a good wrestler, no doubt.  But in the finals last year he gassed as bad as any wrestler I have ever seen in a match.  He looked like it was the first week of the season.  If he isn't in better shape than that, someone will beat him this year.  That's why I said I could see Whiting beating him.  Whiting is not a typical HWT and would be very quick and aggressive.  If he's "strong enough" to hang with Bailey, I think his quickness will wear Bailey out.  That's my 2 cents worth.

  2. On behalf of the entire Michigan wrestling coaching staff, I would like to invite you to one of our Michigan Wrestling Camps this summer. Our camp staff is among the finest in the country, featuring several an NCAA national champion, several NCAA All-Americans, National team members and world medalists. It is the same coaching staff that has led the Wolverines to eight consecutive top-10 NCAA team finishes, including a sixth-place finish in 2006-07 behind the performances of five All-Americans. We are committed to helping young wrestlers develop the skills to become champions!

Michigan Wrestling Camps cater to many different age groups and skill levels. 3. Region 5 is pretty good, but I always go with points scored at the state tournament.  Every region gets the opportunity to put their 4 best in the bracket at each weight and has the same opportunity to score points.  Using that method, Region 7 has been the toughest the last few seasons.

Ranger, I sent you an analysis I did right after the state meet of regional strength right after the tournament. It shows 5 was the toughest last year. Follwed by 7,2,4,6,8,1,3.

  4. That was a 16 man bracket too. I saw where Hayden defaulted in the cons semis but, then lost to Crawford 6-4 for 5th. Was he ill or injured? Anyone remember what happened?

16 man brackets. That's when it meant something to be a state qualifier. A topic for another thread.

  5. Bout 512 -- 1st Period: No score after a minute...1:30...1:00...most of the action is in the tie-up, very few shot attempts...0:30...end of period, no score. 2nd Period: Ruschell defers, Griffin chooses down...escape Griffin...1:15...action the edge, works to a stalemate...scramble and a roll-through ends in no points, end of period. 3rd Period: Ruschell starts down...Ruschell comes through trying for the reversal...on the edge and a stalemate, Griffin stays on top...1:00...Ruschell with the escape...0:15...Griffin's 1:14 RT proves the difference-maker, 2-1.

  6. sullivan didnt look very "outstanding" in the finals,he still won but he dindt deserve it, zarth won the hardest weight class and made it look easy,, thats outstanding

Like I said, WOW not MOW. If you don't think coming back like that isn't outstanding, I guess you have your opinion. It made the rest of the finals boring in comparison. I'll say this, if he hadn't come back, the MOW would have and should have gone to Whitley Co.

  7. People like you scare the crap out me. You google around and cut&paste till you think you have supported an arguement.

    You haven't.

Number 1. This is Old news

Number 2. These are equivelents. Men's vs Women's program

Number 3. Ask J Rob if this was a red-letter day. He's closer to the UofM's AD than you

Number 4. This is a wrestling forum. Not a " I want my Maypo er, Title IX" forum.

( The tangent this thread has taken get's you a pass. But. I believe the orginal intent

was more of a what's good for the goose senario)

Number 5. Google all you want. You ain't gonna find a middle school girl training to be a rower in

                  college.

  8. Okay. You want me upset that basketball scholarships are given to non-US citizens. You got it. I'm pissed. I get pissed when I meet recruited faculty that can barely speak English. Then, all their post graduate positions are filled by non-Americans. I've got plenty to say about that, Bub. Unless you're a combat veteran, your rebuttal will not hold water so, don't even go there.

Back to the topic. I don't have to cite statistics or give examples of how I feel and my preception of what Title 9 has done. You still haven't shown me that little girl that's training to paddle her canoe for ole' State U.

  9. I've yet to see, read, or hear about the little middle school girl who is training everyday to pursue her dream of one day rowing for good ole State U. However, her chances of getting a scholarship paddling a canoe are far greater than the young man who just won his 4th middle school state title. What really gets my britches in a wad is when I see one of the teams created to become compliant and the scholarship goes to some girl from Yougoslavia. You know that is my federal money they're spending. Fellas, it ain't going to get better either.
