I'd say they're competitive It's in their DNA
-
They really did blow last year. I think Barry Davis is on his way out.
-
I'm a big David Taylor fan but, with a response like that, Dake moved up a couple notches.

What BigEd is saying is real. A real problem for the kid, his family and our sport. But, don't blame today's economy. This happens even in the best of economic times. Plenty of these kids have had to give-up playing football or basketball for the same reasons. I am sure it happens to the Science Club, Language Clubs and Band too. I honestly have never heard of a kid who had to quit, soccer, golf or swimming to help pay the family bills.

If you argue that, then Stieber gets 2 in the 1st period on the edge. Ryan was funny. Especially faking that guy at curtain out.

That's a good one but, hadn't he beaten Metcalf already that year? Pinned in a spladdle, I think.

Kentucky State Folkstyle Wrestling Tournament Info
tiltfor3 replied to cmccoy's topic in Events & Marketplace
Why call it Kentucky State if out-of-stater wrestlers are welcome? Just call it something else if it is not a qualifying event. -
But, that was already on their list at #4. They got it right with their #1 pick. It is OK to be a homer. I'd like to know what the ranking would be in the history of the tournament. Would anyone argue that Gable's loss to Owen be #1.

Where are you staying?

Were they on the Maury Show? C,mon. Now, that's funny!!

I saw Yetts get choked out by Kolat at the Big10 tourney the year he placed 3rd at the NC2As. Helickison went crazy. Not OttoCrazy but, Kolat was pretty good at hiding that front headlock/choke.
-
I was hoping to see you there...

I am concerned for the sport and ALL kids that wrestle no matter if they go to public, private, or are home schooled. It is America. We must protect the rights of the few for the good of all.

Careful BullDog, the inveiglement of the Kentucky Wrestling Kardashian drama can deluge the mortal mind.

Has anyone ever won a state championship for two schools in KY?
tiltfor3 replied to Mathound's topic in 2012 Season
Football, for sure. That's whole new crew coaching football at KCD now. Had they been there, who knows if he stays? Was Chris Gold the wrestling coach then? -

If I recall, that is why HS soccer is in the fall now. School teams were losing their best players to club teams. We are talking middle school here. So, if my middle school kid is an All Star QB and is in the Waggener feeder system, he still has the opportunity to go to Trinity. If he's a middle schooler and wrestled for Waggener, he is pegion-holed into having to attend Waggener.
-
Dude- You just made my point. Your school benefited from a club. You need further proof? Look at soccer. Also, as long as middle schoolers are allowed to compete at the high school level in wrestling, you could conceivably pigeon-hole a young man's choices as to attending high school. I fail to understand how eliminating clubs could ever benefit a child. Your position is self-serving at best.

otto - you're not so crazy. When the world never seems to be living up to your dreams it's time you started finding out what everything is all about

Certainly everyone has their own opinion. Likely, one would vote for their own DNA. I was asking about someone referencing "rules" of voting at the state championship.
-
I hope the kids have more focus than the posters here. It is suppose to be MOW. Relative to MOW at the KY state tournament, someone posted that by their own rules it was to be for that competition only. Where did you get that? Isn't it an award from the coaches association? I've never seen it and have been in a position to know if a document exist.

I'd love to meet the parents of such an inspiring wrestler. Thanks for sharing.

For gawd sakes, even Jim Jordan's Congressional district says North Central and West Central Ohio. Ask him if character counts.
