Bailey is a good wrestler, no doubt. But in the finals last year he gassed as bad as any wrestler I have ever seen in a match. He looked like it was the first week of the season. If he isn't in better shape than that, someone will beat him this year. That's why I said I could see Whiting beating him. Whiting is not a typical HWT and would be very quick and aggressive. If he's "strong enough" to hang with Bailey, I think his quickness will wear Bailey out. That's my 2 cents worth.

Anyone who would like to see the statistical analysis of last year's state meet that shows region5 as the best, e-mail me. I'm not smart enough to attach a file to this post.

Ranger, I sent you an analysis I did right after the state meet of regional strength right after the tournament. It shows 5 was the toughest last year. Follwed by 7,2,4,6,8,1,3.

There was a case in Huntington WV where a home-schooled student sued so he could wrestle on a middle school team. I think he won but, has since enrolled and wrestles at a public high school.

That was a 16 man bracket too. I saw where Hayden defaulted in the cons semis but, then lost to Crawford 6-4 for 5th. Was he ill or injured? Anyone remember what happened? 16 man brackets. That's when it meant something to be a state qualifier. A topic for another thread.

I've yet to see, read, or hear about the little middle school girl who is training everyday to pursue her dream of one day rowing for good ole State U. However, her chances of getting a scholarship paddling a canoe are far greater than the young man who just won his 4th middle school state title. What really gets my britches in a wad is when I see one of the teams created to become compliant and the scholarship goes to some girl from Yougoslavia. You know that is my federal money they're spending. Fellas, it ain't going to get better either.
