  1. The 152 you speak of lost to one below him and defeated 2 above him. Just thought it was worth mentioning.

    Best match ever?

I'm a little bias but 2007 quarterfinals 152 Golsby Vs Ervin. Golsby winning by 1 with 30 seconds to go gets taken down by Ervin then scrables to an almost reversal at the buzzer.

    Region 6

My point was that, they didn't need to move up those three, they would have still won the dual. It didn't much matter where they wrestled. Between 130 and 145 all 4 were fairly close in abiltiy at Campbell last year. However your boy probably wrestled the better of the 4. Which was Hamilton.

    Region 6

I'm not a fan of the moving around either. Maybe it comes from my years at Campbell. Coach B. always said there is no reason to move kids around, if we can't beat them straight up then we don't deserve to win. He also didn't like to move a kid out of a varsity spot who earned their spot just for a better match up. With that said, when I coached my own team. We did switch but just because we only had half a team and we wanted to make sure there were mathes to wrestle. Some teams moved their wrestlers to compete with some of the few above average kids I had, but they not trying to win the dual (they probably already won the dual from forfiets), just trying to get a good match for thier kids. I can tell you 1st hand that when we (Campbell) wrestled Reading no-one was moved around. Reading moved up your boy and the next two wt's (not sure why)
  5. I guess it really comes down to what Hamilton decides to do. If he goes 145 then you may have it correct. However if he goes 138 (which he has mentioned several times) then someone is out. Stadtmiller has told Jr. that he is not going to wrestle this year (going to focus on baseball) I hope this does not turn out to be true. I'm just curuios on how things work out at Campbell. The new wt. system has thrown a monkeywrench in things and I think someone who was varsity last year will not be this year.
  6. When Jayce made the trip to the Simon Kenton one day clinic. Pappa Carr told me that Jayce will be back at 132 next year. Said he would have went to Fargo at about that wt., but he was not able to attend the tourney. Remember Ranger is ony making predictions on where kids are going next year. Most of the Campbell kids are not where they plan on going next year. So don't get too saddled with what Ranger has postd here. He will have the wt's more closely accurate come December.

    JV State Tournament

Pnc; I totally agree with "no wrestling on sunday". However I spent 9 years at a school that had absolutely no parental support. Each year I was lucky if I had one parent, not a set of parents show up for a meet each year. I also had no assistant coach for most of the time. Most of my assistant coaches were not old enough to take kids to a wrestling meet. (Ex-wresters from 18-20). I would also like to point out that 80% of my wrestlers came from single parent homes which the mother was the only one present and they didn't come to the meets.
  11. I can tell you this Ranger Kent stepped on the scale this morning and was 144.6. He tells me he wants to try to make 135. I don't think he can. As for Hamilton. I was told he was about 131 already. (I didn't see it first hand though) I agree that Stats will probably be the 171 and hopefully Grant comes out and wrestles 160. Woods is an anomaly. He fluctuates from 140 to 150. He may actually end up the 152. (He is the one who can't cut weight). I've seen the boy eat first hand. :-D

Middle Schoolers banned from varsity for Jefferson Co Public Schools?

I was one of those coaches that had to use middle schoolers to "Fill in spots". I didn't do this because I was trying to win a dual or a tourney. I did this because it was the only way my middle school kids would get any experience. I was an only coach and my budget would not allow a middle school schedule. If I would have been forced to not allow middle school kids on the varsity either the varsity wrestlers or the middle school wrestlers would suffer. I could not be in two places at once. What I did however was choose tourneys that would satisfy both. Most of the tourneys I attended were weaker tourneys. However even though they were weaker tourneys overall, I tried to make sure that there were at least a couple of larger more successful teams there so that my true varsity wrestlers would at least get one or two good matcheds in the placement rounds

(Fairdale)(I've e-mailed the A.D. with no response) Can anyone help me here, I don't want my team to have an open sat. this early in the season.

REMOTE WEIGH-IN SITES: Horsepower Tournament April 24th

Northern Kentucky remote weigh in will be at Campbell Co. between 6:30 and 7:30 on Friday 23rd.
  19. At Amelia. The competition at the high school weights are usually good. The middle school weights are hit and miss.

  21. Can anyone tell me how to get hold of fliers for the tourneys listed? I already have the Boarder wars flyer. If anyone can send me the info for the other tourneys I would be gratefull. Our team is having our banquet next week and i would like to get all the information to the wrestlers at that time. I would also add that there is a Tournament at Amelia High School in Cincy on March 20th.

    North Oldham Tourney

This from Campbell Co. Strait from coach B's mouth, at practice today, to the team. "The varsity will not wreslte this weekend, I like to take the week off. Unless for some reason I change my mind tonight, but I doubt that I will." it looks like the JV will be attending unless they re-schedule the JV state. Then I don't know what will happen.

Same side of the Bracket at state

Campbell's "B" team will be at North Oldham not the "A" team. They always take the week before regions off.
  24. No longer wrestling. It's complicated why? Started with an injury at the beginning of the season.

    TCI (Tates Creek Invitational)

The only way any of their varsity would be there is if they are eliminated on Friday of the Fairfield tourney. This must have happened to Yenter last year.
