teams that have the biggest advantage

TT; Don't get me wrong every KID on that team will recieve by full support and help, If I can give any. My door is open to every one of those kids on that team. However, I will never again wear the purple and gold, nor will that team recieve any financial help or volunteer time from me or my family. A 25 year friendship was lost over this, and a lot more.

teams that have the biggest advantage

I hope you are correct MPire about no one wandering around. It will dedinately help YOUR team (NOT MINE) win another state title. From what I know about this team, this team needs someone (not a coach) to be in their face. Franck got Mathews in line and Garth tried to keep Woods, Hamilton, Bachman, and Keaton in line. I know at home by boy said "I was cheering hard at the conference against SK because I didn't want to get yelled at by Garth and his dad again". I have no doubt about your two, they have trained and grown up under different conditions. They will do their think and lead by example, (If anyone on their team will pay attention). I fear that many on the team will live their goals through Stephen and Austin and not do it on their own. Not S. or A. fault its the others fault. We will see, maybe Austin, Stephan, and Fausz can carry this team. There are some others on the team who will give it their all. Krebs, Spahr, and Maggard, but they are young and will have to make great strides to reach your boys and Fausz level.

In reference to the 90 team I was refering to the wrestling room. Hamilton is not a hard worker in the wrestling room. I've seen it for 6 years now, unless he changes this year. As far as the 90 team goes only Fausz, Yenter, Stephen and Austin would start on that team. Different era and different style, but the 90 team dominated the upper wt.s Maybe after a full season under his belt I will proclaim Stephen the best CC wrestler over Zinga, and Austin may even surpass that. I can tell you this, living in a house with one of those seniors on next years team. The senior class needs to get focused. They need someone to hold them together, I personaly was hoping it would be Stephen, but you say he is not a leader off the mat. That is what this team needs, they got it from Garth last year, but who will step it up this year? If not for Garth the team would wander around the gym during meets not really watching anyone else wrestle and get down to the mat when it is there turn to wrestle. Go back and look at the duals they wrestled, they rarely cheered on their teammates, it's why Ryle beat them at CC last year.

MPire: You are correct in the notion that there will not be any senior leaders for Campbell next year. There will be maybe 6 Seniors on the team next year. Powers, Woods, Hamilton,Meyers, Bachman, Keaton, and maybe Moore. I don't see a leader among them. Powers, Moore, and Woods does not have the respect of the team. Keaton does not have the work ethic, Hamilton wants to play all the time. Bachman (my son) and Meyers (using your words) don't want to be leaders. Your comments about Hamilton and Meyers being the best ever at Campbell in the practice room. Hamilton is not a good practice room person, he has the most talent of all the wrestlers in the room, but has not reached his potential yet. He has improved much but still not the leader or great wrestler he could be. Wr.fan: Not sure who your nephew is but he has given you good information. I've been talking about that exact thing with my son and his buddies. By the way the 90 team at campbel had is the best wrestling room ever. The 4 top weights should have all been state champions. Zinga was a state champ (probably the best ever at campbell) R. Turner and P. Hagan both defeated the state champs that year. J. Newman lost the the eventual HWT in the last seconds in the Semi's. Along with Strause and Coach Gray (who was a Jr. that year), not to mention Brandon Wilkins an 8th grader who became a 2X champ and a 5X placer. No 215,or 220 otherwise another Turner would have been on the team. By the way I was not part of that team i was part of the 83 team.

    State Duals

Wrestling probably need to take a page from kentucky basketball and hold an All "A" State Duals. This way the small schools could still participate in the State duals then also compete in the All "Small" State Duals.

    Circleville Duals

Nky sent 2 teams to these duals. They placed 4th and 13th. Both teams could have done much better if some didn't back out at the last minute. Turner and Woods from Campbell, and Chamblee from SK. I know at least 2 CC boys that went 5-0. Hamilton 155 and Bachman at 163. Other CC boys Krebs 1-4 (1-0 at 109,0-4 at 116) Maggerd 3-2? at 123 Mathews 4-1 at 185. Humphries at 135 Jordan Mason at 223. Wanted to give the Boy some props. Bachman had 4 pins and one decision. Only gave up one takedown, was down 8-0 in the first came back to tie then pin his opponent.

    Circleville Duals

it started last year with SK and CC putting a team together then filling in the holes with kids from other teams. It was kind of the same this year except they put together two teams to take up Mostly CC,SK, and Ryle. Conner was represented by a 220 Dixie was represented by a 145 Grant was represented by a Hwt. I think that was all that was represented I could be wrong.

    wrestling and the economy

The team that I had got no support from the school and most of the parents did not even see thier kids wrestle. I recieved nothing from the boosters, I didn't even have a full set of singlets. We used 3 different sets to make one set, and had no warm ups. I was told if I used my money on warm ups then we would have to limit our season. I thought it more important to wrestle every week. As for fundraisers, I only had about 10 kids on the team with maybe 4 parents involved. (When I mean four I dont' mean four sets of parents) What is the ruling on boosters supporting summer wrestling?

    wrestling and the economy

I for one will admit that in our house the economy has caused a reduction in competition or the thought of traveling to compete in the summer. I also know from experience about kids who needed to work instead of participating in sports. Where I use to coach this was a huge problem. Even during the season. When we traveled to Lou. or Lex. Most of the wrestlers did not have money for food and drinks, this was why I had to change my schedule so as not to travel to Lou or Lex as much.

    Open mats at CC

Will there be open mats today since CC is on spring Break?
  12. I received a call from a close friend and old colleague. Andy Price. Andy was my assistant coach for 5 years and then took over the team when I left. Andy has been the head coach at Holmes High school for the last 3 years.. He has notified me that he is in bad health. He will be missing the rest of the school year and maybe more. Without going into great detail he will be going through treatments to try and correct his problem. Andy is still young around 37, and in relatively good shape. So the docs say this will help in his recovery. Andy has a long road ahead of him and any thoughts from the wrestling community can do nothing but help. So lend your prayers, meditations, chants, or any other way of conjuring good spirits and health that you may practice upon a wrestling family member. Thanks ahead of time k. bach

    Local Cincy/Nky tourneys

Anyone know if there are going to be any touneys in the cincy/NKY area. Our pockets are not very deep this year so we can't do much traveling if any this summer. Is Conner still holding the Border Wars and if not is anyone picking it up. I know that Amelia usualy holds a tourney in March/April also. I have not heard anything about either of these.

    MOW

Thank you. As I have said. We have made peace with the Meyers. My son calls Stephen a freind, and has been to the house a couple of times. I myself have cooled down a little. My wife however? Well we all know how moms are. She has burned many of the CC stuff and gave away the rest. Not much I can do about it. Mom's in general are probably more emotional than the Dads. My only hope is that my son continues wrestling. I, like every other dad, hopes he wins every match, but just competing is good enough for me.

Don't drag us back into this conversation. My opinions will be held to myself, and would appreciate if everyone else would leave it that way. There were a lot of ifs and mistakes made by many parties involved.

    State Team Scores

Since I was directly involved in this I would ask that everyone let sleeping dogs lie. The season is over and our families worst state tourney is over. We are moving on and exploring our options for next year. I would like to point out that Kent returned to the team to help out the team at practice. He felt that he wanted to at least try to make something good out of a bad thing, and help his buddies on the team do the best they can. I personally would like to thank all the coaches that talked to me at the state tourney (We were there the 2nd day away from everyone). I would like to congratulate the individual accomplishments of every campbell co wrestler. I also want ot congratulate Coach Gilbert and the other Nky wrestlers on there accomplishments. As Handcontrol pointed out: I have no ill feelings toward any of the wrestlers or wrestling parents. We will be around next year in the stands. Most likely not on the floor, I have little left to offer anyone on the mat.

    Dedication and Commitment

What do these two words mean to a wrestler? What is expected from the wrestler? What do these two words mean to a coach? What is expected from a coach? The last question is what does loyalty mean to a wrestler and a coach? What is expected from each? I ask these questions because it seems that Campbell County's coaches have forgotten what these words mean.

    Dedication and Commitment

I will conclude this by saying this. These are the ratings of a papa bear that was unable to protect his cub. I ultimately blame myself for not being a bigger threat than others are to the coaching staff. (In other words, being a push over) I know that my ratings are somewhat irrational and probably classless. But I have towed the company line in expense of my son and family for too long. I made this conscious decision to air the dirty laundry, knowing that it will look bad on me. I am OK with this because I am allowing myself this luxury at least once in my life. If this can stop any further wrong decisions on anyone’s part I am OK with this. I will still support my family any way I can. I will also add that at the end of this day (midnight) I will have this thread closed. It will be time for a new week to begin and for many to start their march toward a state title, and others trying to advance as far as possible in the post season. I only ask that after midnight tonight that all talk be about the post season (Regional tourneys and state tourney). This is ultimately what we are all on here for. Good luck to all. And I hope everyone a safe and successful post season. KBach finished.

    Dedication and Commitment

You are correct, I did not mean to implicate his teammates. If I did that was not my intension at all, I support all of the wrestlers themselves and hope to see them return with many individual state championships and medals. I am not even bitter at the newbies, they are good kids and I wish them the best. I would even go as far as saying I hold no ill against the newbies father, and I wish his hopes and dreams come true for his kids.

    Dedication and Commitment

All I am saying is that since He has been betrayed by his team then he needs not go out of his way for the team itself. I also said HOPE, not that he was told to do so. As you well know Handcontrol Mr. Bankemper did not allow a kid to wrestle regions last year after winning a wrestle off because he did not work hard in practice. He did this to sent a message to the kids that if you don't work hard for the team you will not be on the team. I disagreed with this move but remained quite about it. A similar think happened 2 years ago with a wrestle off but you were not there. (Also involvling my son) Now he is making the opposite decision. I also pointed out that it will be unfair to the 160, 182 (a second time) and possibly the 195. No matter what happens next the betrayal has occured and things will never be the same again. All in all my greivence has been said and the outcome over. My hope is that I will get to see my son wrestle another match this year. And hopefully next year (if this has not soured him) He has already said I wish the season was over already? I hope that no-one else will ever have to see a 17 year olds dreams dashed by betrayal. It is one of the hardest things you will ever have to witness as a parent. I have told him if this is the worst thing that ever happens to you be grateful. There are many other things that are much, much worse. As a parent however it is devestating, our entire home has been affect by this.

    Dedication and Commitment

His thoughts may not have been directly on a state title. His thoughts were he thought i would be easier to handle than Papa Meyers. As stated by another, I am doing just what Papa Meyers has done fight for my kid. To show my support to my kid I feel that I must make a stand and draw a line in the sand. I now must follow through and I have personally broken all ties with campbell county wrestling. I know this is not a huge loss for the team but its my only coarse of action left. My son cannot go 145 and it is way to late to transfer schools. As i told Mr. Bankemper, If I could remove my name from the banners hanging in the gym now I would do so. Now Kent must go 160 and maybe take a spot from another hard working wrestler, who then may go up and take a spot from someone else. This in no way makes for good team chemistry. My hopes is that if Kent does wrestle 160 or any weight. That any matches that he can possibly win he will win by 7 or less so as not to gain extra team points.

Yes you are correct I have no loyalty left for the program or staff. At least I admit that. When one is not shown loyalty one should not give it back. HC. I have been coaching him, but I don't make the decisions at CC. CC; I have more loyalty to my family than to freinds. I no longer represent CC in any form as a coach, or volunteer. I will go and watch my son wrestle nothing more.

State Duals Split into Big School/Little School

jacketcoach; I think you are correct. While coaching at Holmes old Coach Webb told me that we (Holmes) were the largest school in the small school division and Dixie heights was the smallest school in the big school division. That was 10 years ago, I'm not sure if they changed the division since then.
