  1. Goodness someone takes themselves or this thread a bit too far.  Ya want to see a hood try LA.  People wouldnt even claim to be what they think is hood if they had ever truly been part of one.  This is KY.  Never heard anyone say man you know those thugs out in Kentucky dont play.  Nah there gettin laughed at as they probably should.  Grow up get serious,  Dawg money loc

PS if this offends you then you are the pretender Im talkin about.

Did you not read the post where I said "im not claiming to be hood" I just lived IN the hood. Ive had family in sheppard square since i was 7 years old, and one of my best friends lived his entire life in clarksdale, so dont tell me somthing you know nothing about, and if you did you would be agreeing with me..

Let me PROVE to you.. why you sound like an idiot..

    http://www.angelfire.com/nv2/louisville/clarksdale1.html

    ^^Clarksdale Projects^^click this link^^

Tore down for a reason, am I right? YES, I AM. Because downtown Louisville was NOTHING BUT housing project's. Along with shepard square. Then you got the west end,Iroqois, park duvalle, etc. The crime rate was high. People didnt go downtown BECAUSE of the projects. So how the hell are you going to say louisville is being laughed at when we are one of the top cities with the most housing projects?

Why your on the subject of LA.. im living in the westcoast right now. HAve you even BEEN to LA or you just going by what you see on tv?

Like I said before. DONT ARGUE SOMTHING if you dont know what youre talking about.

  2. I was actually agreeing, 17th street becomes Dixie Highway, last time I checked.  Perhaps I'm thinking of another spot...

Shortys is on broadway. Google map it!

I know one thing DINO'S gas station has the best chicken in the hood! Its the only place in town I know of where you can get dinner,an outfit,an underground hiphop cd, AND some gas.. all in one place. :) haha! And the subs are hittin hard ALL hours of the night.. rockin the one.. AND only genre.. I like to call.. HIP HOP!!!

    "Remember Rappin' Duke, duh-ha, duh-ha

You never thought that hip hop would take it this far

Now I'm in the limelight 'cause I rhyme tight

Time to get paid, blow up like the World Trade

Born sinner, the opposite of a winner

Remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner

Peace to Ron G, Brucey B, Kid Capri

    Funkmaster Flex, Lovebug Starsky

I'm blowin' up like you thought I would

Call the crib, same number same hood

    It's all good"

    -REST IN PEACE BIGGIE

  3. Shorty's gas station is on Dixie Highway.. on the border of what Louisvillians consider the start of the West End.

    Just saying :-P

WRONG you are again. Shortys gas station is on broadway. Nowhere close to dixie highway, and trust me, its in the hood bruh. Its owed by a guy named "Shorty", and I dont know of any gas station on dixie highway where you have to order everything through a window past 6pm. ha! I wouldnt make shit up. I lived RIGHT in front of it when they made that huge drug bust by my house and 2 cops ran through my front yard with machine guns as I sat there eating my ramen noodles o the porch thinking "WTF"..

  4. pat you are 20 calm, down with arguing with high school kids and Travis quit antagonizing it (even though it is a little funny)

    21 sprout..

But uh.. dawg how old is grappler of old? If im too old to be on a forum argueing with high school cats you better mention somthing to him am I right? Im on this forum like once a year, and the ONLY reason ive been getting on here recently is because some fools made some STUPID remarks about an issue they know nothing about.

As for TRAVIS.. yo ask yourself this, would you really want to wrestle for central after being a TROJAN? come on now.. you want to win state, step in coach latshas dungeon. Not for the weak of Heart.. seizures, or epilepsy. haha

  5. dude you come straight out of eastern how hood could you possibly be

WHO went to eastern? What are you talking about? I comuted EVERYDAY my senior year FROM the west end. SO dont speak, if you dont know what you are talking about.

Aint noone claiming to be hood anyway. I simply said go to the west end as far as the shorties gas station, walk up to ANYBODY and tell them that rap takes no talent. I bet you dont. Just sayin.

I stick up for hip hop culture ANY day. Theres no argument. Check the charts. Hip hop is WAY on top. Country is on the bottom.

And yes.. new rap is grabage. Check out old Digable Planets tracks. Theyre sick, and what hip hop was origionally about. Good beats, Breakdancing and graffiti Art culture.

By the way, someone mentioed somthing about it taking no talent in rap because rap uses "beats". I have a cousin, who is going to college for audio, TO MAKE beats, and hes VERY talented at it. Its not as simple as you make it out to be, or anyone could pick up a mic and make a million dollars.

"Sold out seats to hear biggie smalls speak"-RIP

  6. Aiight then, it's on.

    ROCK over RAP.

Rock music is played by REAL people playing REAL instrument, not some drum machine. Rappers don't sing, they rap. I get pumped from hearing people SING, not people just saying stuff in beat with the song. You don't need to be a "musician" to rap. You think most rappers today know what a B# minor scale is? no. But I bet you any rock band worth anything has a guitarist and a bassist who know their theory. Rock is played by talented people and you can feel the emotion behind what they're playing, plus, rock ROCKS!

Maybe you identify with rap, and you identify yourself with the lyrics, but rock is way easier to do that with..

"Soulja Boy Off In This Hoe

    Watch Me Crank It

    Watch Me Roll

Watch Me Crank Dat Soulja Boy

    Then Super Man Dat Hoe

    Now Watch Me Do

    (Crank Dat Soulja Boy)

    Now Watch Me Do

    (Crank Dat Soulja Boy)

    Now Watch Me Do

    (Crank Dat Soulja Boy)

    Now Watch Me Do

    (Crank Dat Soulja Boy)"

    (Chorus from Crank That)

What? Does that make any sense at all?

WOW man, you really sound like an idiot. Plus I can tell youre whiter than clorox bleach because you just picked "soulja boy" out of A LOT of TALENTED hip hop artist's. Go to the west end and say hip hop takes no talent! Better yet go blair soulja boy and see if you dont get laughed out the hood bruh.

Soulja boy sucks.. hes publicity nothing less.

    Listen to real stuff..

    Gangstarr,tupac,biggie,dr.dre,snoop dogg,lil boosie,jadakiss,jay-z,d-block.. list go's on.

HAHA cant beleive you just brought up soulja boy.. that made my day. I can definently tell your from south oldam.

  7. I actually have a reason to believe it is easier.  A few of the "HOOD" kids challenged me 2 years ago.  They gave me some lyrics (don't ask me which ones I forgot, mostly because I didn't care), I studies them for a week, then they set up some "Beats" and I rapped them.

According to them it was not bad at all.  Does that mean I should become a rapper?

Molly Cyrus?? Isn't that the girl who plays Hannah Montana on TV?  I guess if I had to pick between her and biggie smalls or smallie bigs I may have to pick rap also.  I would turn them both off.

I personally prefer a little OZZY or Iron Maiden, with a splash of old school Matalica, and a side order of Black Sabbath.    :-D

SOWrestler---I knew my comment would spark a flame in someone.  I'm just trying to have some fun on here until the true season starts up and we have something real to talk about.

Yeah, Ozzy is ALWAYS good. No argument there. If were comparing music to fast food.. which would make a great thread for wrestlers by the way.. id have to order a Biggie sized Guns n roses,A side of aerosmith, and 2 for a a Dollar Miley cyrus(She makes one hell of an apple pie if ya get what im sayin)!

Besides that the colts are 7-0. That has nothing to do with anything I just thought id point out random facts worth knowing.

  8. I don't think he's tryin to start an argument dude. He's just admitting he's not going to understand it and doesn't really feel like trying. I say whatever floats your boat, i just don't feel like watching this go back and forth for the next page and a half...

Then dont click on the "rock or rap" thread then. I did read the name of this thread correctly right? and i'm argueing "rock or rap". He knows its nothing against HIM im just making a point and saying RAP over ROCK :-D

  9. Hey I can't help what the new generation is being forced to listen to.  It's one of the 2 forms of music I can't stand to listen to.

I still would argue that it is easier to rap than to actually sing.  Give someone the words and it's much easier to rap than to sing a song.

And please don't give me this "it's harder to free style."  Once a rap singer makes it big he or she has someone else write their lyrics, just the same as a rock star or country music star.

As my name suggests I'm an old school kind of guy and I'll never like rap rather it is gangster rap or Jesus rap.  To me it's all C'rap.

This is the opinion of GOO.

    Take it or leave it.

    HAHAHAHAHHAH!!!!!!!!!

Dude.. eminem went from the hood of detroit to a millionaire, and ALWAYS writes his own music. Biggie smalls, from the hood, wrote about his life as did tupac. NOBODY wrote their stuff for them, i cant beleive you just said that. RAP is actually KNOWN for writing your own music and collaborating with others.

Rappers are hated, because they speak of REAL LIFE, not fantasy love worlds that donot exsist. Most rappers have made it from nothing to having whatever they want. They made it from the hood to the life they dreamed of.

Listen to tupac, he writes about real life, and you can feel the emotion in his voice, and theirs ALWAYS a message. Same with biggie.

"birthdays was the worst days, now we sip champagne when we thirsty"- biggie

"Uh, Damn right I like the life I live, cause I went from negitive to possitive, and its all good"-Biggie

    No talent to rap eh?..

Yo give a sheet of lyrics to miley cyrus as hot as she is, and her stuff will come out whack. Give the same lyrics to lil wayne and youll be bobbin your head. It takes talent to spit out lyrics to sound right. Lyrics can be complicated, and tongue binding. It takes skill.

HIP_HOP GRAFFITI CULTURE LIVES!!!! GET USED TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  10. TACO BELL  :| :-( its pretty much the best food ever there, oh and monster energy drinks

Monster energy. WORD.. but theyre crooks. I addicted.. theyre goin the same direction with energy drinks as they are the tobbacco prices. Get ya HOOKED.. jack up the prices.. your hooked so your payin whatever the price is anyway. They get your money. SMART marketing, but EVIL

  11. How do you get pumped up from rap?

If you can get pumped up by someone talking to you then let your coach yell at you before the match.  :-D

First of all, rap music today, is blowing away EVERY genre there is,check your music charts. There's no argument there. AND!! rap takes skill, its not just someone talking, so dont make a statement unless you know what youre talking about. Theres diffrent styles, not all of it is gang realted. Its a new generation, times are changing. Accept rap or not.. hip hop and graffiti culture isnt going anywhere. Word to that..

Yo dont get me wrong. I love classic. Blind Melon,Guns n roses, soundgarden. I actually just seen Pearl Jam and Ben harpor out here in seattle a few weekends ago. Best show of my life.

    This videos for you Grappla..

For pearl jam fans.. heres eddie vedder drunk holdin himself up with the mic stand at the concert.. totally awesome! The ends intence!

    GO TROJANS!

  12. I guess head bang stuff gets your blood pumpin if your one of those skinny aggresive lil boogers that die their hair black and wear their sisters eye-liner. Guess its not as bad as that awful teenage girl music like good charolette or whatever. Those dudes wear more make up than my mother, and the music sounds like whiney bullcrap.

  13. Okay heres the deal. Maybe You new(or old) southern guys may be able to help me out on this.

A few years back, louisvilles whas11 or wave 3.. one of the two.. came to southern for SOME odd reason to do a news story on our team, I dont remember the details. Maybe the reporter thought coach latsha was cute.. who know's.

Anyway, Im trying to find a link to the video clip if anyone has it or knows how I may find it. I definently pinned the hot blonde news lady, and never seen the story when it aired. This is the main reason I want to see it. Plus Dude.. pin a hot news lady in high school.. you want hard copys trust me. Who gets to do that?

    Good times. Goodtimes.

    Any info let me know..

    GO TROJANS!

  14. Granby nailed it.  I went there about 6 years ago when I lived pretty close to it and tried to talk to them about getting a program started there for the above mentioned reasons and was told it wouldn't happen.  It was never specifically said but that's the reason I infered from the conversation.  And it is a shame becaue I think they would be really competitive especially since as southern112 kinda backwardly points out, most of their students don't come from around that area and wouldn't pull from just one school.

I wish they did have a team when I wrestled back in the day. Purple vs purple. Male VS southern would have been intense. Although Southern would have made it closed curtains for male.
