    State video coverage?

I was wondering if there was video coverage of the state championships this year. I know that in the past there has been. If anyone has a link please post.
  2. Ok guys its that time of year again. I want to know who is going to a national tournament to represent Kentucky wrestling. Post and let me know. We had a great state tournament and I encourage everyone to go to NHSCA nationals in VA beach or Flonations (preferably both). Here are the links to registration for all events. Attention Louisville area wrestlers. Coaches Reed, Martin, and Hayes have started a new wrestling club in Louisville called Ascend Wrestling. It is a USA club dedicated to anyone who wants to get better no matter what school you wrestle for. We will be hosting nationals training as well as holding the first Ascend wrestling tournament this summer. Here is a link to our facebook group: ascendwrestling@groups.facebook.com. Ranger: Please help us out and make this a priority thread so as many people as possible are informed about nationals.

    Oldham Super Duals

Can someone post the results from the Simon Kenton vs Larue dual? I specifically would like to know the score of the 112 match-up.
  4. Ok guys, its that time of year again, state is over but there is still wrestling to do. Kentucky wrestling has done nothing but improve every year, I encourage all state placers (and anyone else) to compete at the NHSCA championships in Virginia beach. Its such a great experience and a time for everyone in Kentucky to get to know each other and compete under the same banner. Year after year we have produced All Americans and last year our first national champion (Caleb Ervin). We could have our best showing ever if all of our talent makes the trip. If you don't have a way to get there, get in contact with another team in your area that goes. If you want to compete, there is a way make it happen. These are teams that usually take wrestlers to Virginia beach: Seneca, Trinity, Ryle, Union, Henry Clay, Wayne, Woodford, John Hardin, Sheldon Clark, Johnson Central, North Hardin, I'm sure I've forgetten a few. Here are the links to the registration pages, registration is open to any freshman, Sophomore, or junior. Seniors must have placed 1-4th at state at some point during their careers. Seniors! please please come out and wrestle, even if you aren't planning on college wrestling, this is one of the best recruiting events around. Freshman: http://www.nhscaevents.com/event.cfm?id=30 Sophomores: http://www.nhscaevents.com/event.cfm?id=32 Juniors: http://www.nhscaevents.com/event.cfm?id=33 Seniors: http://www.nhscaevents.com/event.cfm?id=35 Elementary and middle School:(I'm talking to you Brock Ervin and Mark Hall!) http://www.nhscaevents.com/event.cfm?id=34 I'd like to see more Louisville area wrestlers compete this year in all age divisions.

    How much is Ky improving?

I totally agree. As a whole, KY wrestlers and coaches need to raise their wrestling IQ's. Just like basketball and football, the very best players are usually those who have the greatest understanding of their respective sport. I wish I would've had a resource like flowrestling when I was competing. Wrestlers now have instant access to the highest levels of wrestling 24/7. You can learn so much by watching the best and then applying what you have seen into your own technique and match management skill-set. I recommend that anyone who wants to improve get on flowrestling and click extra hard on the coverage button (and do it every day).

    Virginia beach (2010 NHSCA NATIONALS)

There will be several coaches from Kentucky at the tournament. Nothing is formalized, but if you need a someone in your corner, there is no shortage of coaches willing to help.

If you guys are having trouble with hotel reservations, be aware that the convention center is within walking distance of any hotel along the strip. There are dozens of hotels along Atlantic blvd and many are cheaper than the hotels listed on the NHSCA site. You can get a good deal if you look.

Great to hear workhard. We need to start utilizing kywrestling as a tool to get our wrestlers out to the big tournaments. That's the only way we're going to get competitive with the tougher states.

Hey guys, do me a big favor and post on this thread as much as possible. I want it to stay at the top of the list so people continue to see it. The more people who read it, the more kids find out about nationals. Thanks

yes, it is 106, and i believe it is just one day weigh ins. Seniors get to weigh in once they night before competition! ridge44: seneca will be training for virginia beach, casa de valle will be a great training partner for you, he is going 106 at juniors. Personal message me for more info, I will help you get into contact with coach reed of seneca. Is Trinity going to run a nationals training group like they did last year???

Sorry my video didn't embed correctly guys, here is a link to highlights from last year: [ftp=ftp://bit.ly/8YysmU]http://bit.ly/8YysmU[/ftp]
  13. Which KY wrestlers have qualified for nationals and will be competing in Oklahoma city in two weeks? These guys don't get enough support from us. These are the ones that I'm sure of: Elliott Martin: @ 133 sophomore Lindenwood University Jacob Murton: @ 149 senior? Campbellsville James Linker: @ 165 Campellsville Who else?
  14. Fahy would dominate at 119, and martin didn't lose as soon as he bumped to 119. He dominated it all year. First lost to miller at state duals when he was sick and traded 1-1 with a 3 time state champ (zarth). A technical wrestler like fahy can dominate at whatever weight he wrestles.

    G.P Bruin Invitational (Tennessee)

Hooker is not nationally ranked, Caleb is though. Still a nice win.

When and where will the dual be held?

    Region 4

Anderson to Reed was no average coaching change, he has been groomed for the job for the past 4 years and has brought new energy to the program. Like a Dan Gable to Tom brands kind of change. Seneca will not suffer any off years. I only see them improving under Reed. They may even slip a few into the finals this year...
  19. what are the weight classes for the folkstyle tournament this weekend in senior division?

    Missouri Valley Open

ummm, exline has been ranked second all year, he was moved down two 7th in the ranking just released, so is elliott's win somehow less impressive to you now? And the other guy is not ranked yet only because he just transferred from D1.

Will Union County repeat as state champs?

Bradbury's level is too high for Leavell to handle, the kid has talent on his feet but on the mat is a different story. I think Leavell will be lucky to last 6 minutes.

    Most Dominant in each position

Harison Courtney is by far the best bottom wrestler in the state. He scores many of his points from peterson rolls, granbys, and shrugs. He uses bottom as a weapon to score, he doesn't just try to get away or get a reversal.

    Oldham Co. Super Duals

The super duals were very interesting. Seneca ended up winning, Larue came in second. Pool D was crazy, there was a three-way tie between John Hardin, Harrison Co, and Oldham. It was interesting that Seneca won because they were without Warra 112, Harper 125, Lofton Wright 171, and Austin Reed 135. Once all those guys get down to weight, they will be a really tough team.

    Courtney?

Mark Perry was beaten (and I'm fairly sure he was majored) by Jacob Dieffenbach, 2X NAIA national champion 1X runner up.
  25. Elliott Martin placed 5th in the Missouri Open this sunday for Lindenwood. Not yet sure who all he wrestled, but I know Missouri, OU, Oklahoma St, Illinois, Cal Poli, and a lot of other tough schools were there. The first of many good showings I expect. Great to see Kentucky wrestlers mixing it up with the best. Good job bro :-D
