WEAK! The team raknings are ridiculous! I dont care if it's duals or individual, they MISSED SOME STUFF WHEN THEY DID THESE! 1. Woodford (fine, or 2nd, either way) 2. Larue (fine, or 1st) 3. trinity (even before state duals, look at the Dragon!) 4. South Oldham 5. Ryle (should be lower) 6. Fern creek (higher) 7. Wayne (lower) 8. North Hardin (lower) 9. Oldham (lower, or not even in the top 10) 10. Union (higher) More like: 1. Woodford 2. Larue 3. Trinity 4. South Oldham 5. Fern Creek 6. Harrison (nnot 13th!) 7. Union 8. Ryle 9. Wayne 10. North hardin 11. Seneca 12. Simon Kenton 13. Caldwell 14. Dunbar 15. Campbell Co. Oldham, Eastern, and St Xavier do not deserve to be on the list!

Who's better: Starks or Scherer? Both have excellant credentials, and both leave a path of devestation on the mat. Opinions?
-
I agree Allamerican157. Starks is a very improved wrestler. However, is there really that much competition at 171? Seems lukewarm to me. I may be wrong though. I would say that Goolsby from holmes gets a nod here too. Especially coming from such a small program.

Intresting points. As much as I would like to see Clark and Sullivan eat donuts, I don't think that's a correct comparison. Also, I believe Whitaker could defeat Scherer. Head to head? I would have to go with Starks. Scherer is a monster, yes, but look at the competition at 215, or even the general atheletic ability at 215. Alot of the 215's are overweight, chubby, poor shaped atheletes, while Scherer is in good shape, quick, and a hard worker. Of course he beats them. Look at the general atheletic ability at 189. For the most part these guys are in better shape, are more athletic, and have more staying time on the mat. it's not just a question of strength anymore. I think Starks is the better _wrestler_ of the two by a good margin. I also believe that Starks will be more successful at college, as Scherer is no where near as fundamentally sound as Starks.

Mustang Classic Feb 4th at North Oldham

Martin is another wrestler who the rankings don't give justice. Zeppa is another wrestler who is way to highly ranked. 3 times? Goodness. -
What are some of the good new progams around the state? Who's been making waves over the last 1 to three years?
-
So who are some the good first, second, or third year coaches out in the state? What's some of the good new young blood? We all know Joe Carr Jr is one, but that's a no brainer. Who's some of the news guys in the sport?
-
You may think that grappler, but you and I both know what will happen. It's a shame, but it's the truth. Remember, this is the same state that we cant get enough coache sin the first place, and those we have don't even support their own association.;

Personally, I thought Iroquois High School got off to a decent start this year.
-
Whoever wins state gets coach of the year. Duh.

What is easier for you to get pumped, dual meets or tournys?

Tournaments. Individual accolades. Live by your success, die by your success. -
Murtons are the best brosthers lately. Coopers a close second.

State Duals vs. State Tournament
run_the_half replied to vertically handicapped's topic in 2006 Season
The duals are a nice tune up, thats about all. There are only two tourneys that matter during the scholastic season: Regionals and State, everything else is just mat time. -
The "offical" ranking just plain suck.
-
From what i was told, Morlatt is out for the rest of the year, with a torn muscle in his shoulder.
-
Excellant rankings once again!

Which do you trust more? -
almost and lose are just about the same thing.
-
This is about the most innane poll I have seen. NO THEY WILL NOT HAVE 7 STATE CHAMPS! NO! Woodford homers: you're boys are good, but not that good. They'll have 2 at the best. R Starks is a no brainer. 7? Don't smoke before you get on the forum.

1. by a W i d e Margin---> Murton Not a single kid in this state at 135, 130, 140 can touch him. Sorry, but if you debate that, you haven't seen him. 2. Starks (West Point wrestling!) 3. Scherer (2 timer, soon to be 3 timer, and crushed TN two yrs now) 4. Banks (did you see state duals>?) 5. Sulivann (unstoppable at his weight)

A top 10 greatest and the history of Ky. wrestling
run_the_half replied to Jacobs_hook's topic in 2006 Season
The best KY wrestler: Issac Knable. 4x state champion, wrestles currently for IU. Hands down a better program than Joe Carr jr's collegiate program.
