Free eBooks: High School Wrestling Novels

::: Update -- the coupon codes for free downloads have changed. See below ::: Here
  2. Hey wrestling people, I recently posted all of my books on a new site called Smashwords. This is a site where electronic books can be downloaded in various formats for any e-book reader, or as a word document or .pdf. All my books, including my wrestling books, are absolutely free. I just like people to read my stuff. Below are links to where my two wrestling books can be downloaded. You won't have to register for anything, etc. I don't write about wrestling anymore because these are by far my least popular stories. Too bad, because it's my favorite thing to write about. Both stories are about high school wrestlers. Thanks ...dave conifer FireHouse: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/5989 Throwback: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/5990 I'm participating in a program, Operation eBook Drop, by which American soldiers can download e-books for free (mine are actually free for everybody). The soldiers download tons of copies of Throwback and FireHouse. Statistics show that a high percentage of our soldiers wrestled in high school, something that doesn't surprise me. I think that's why they like these two books disproportionately. :-)

    FireHouse Update

If you liked "Throwback", check out the work-in-progress -- "FireHouse". It's another story about high school wrestling. Chapters are being posted as they are written. Chapter 8 was posted last week. The guys in the band are talking about kicking Zach out, and Zach had his wrestle-off with Mark Easton. Chapter 9 will probably be up tomorrow. http://home.infionline.net/~cpharm/Throwback Just go to the Throwback site and click on "Read FireHouse". Free as always...

    Free High School Wrestling Novel

Very cool! Just so you know, folks, that .PDF version is a little rough. Because it was self-published, there was no editing except for the errors I caught. In the 18 months since that version went out I've done a lot of cleanup to the manuscript and to the on-line version. Sorry about that -- that's part of why I hate to see anybody pay anything for it. There have also been a few additions. Most notably, the last match of the season wrestled by Ben's teammate Nick was added to Chapter 25. I got a lot of grief from readers because they wanted to know how Nick did so I added it. Thanks again Kentuckians...

    Free High School Wrestling Novel

Hi KD, I wouldn't mind at all if you distributed as many copies as you want. I dig knowing that people enjoy it (although some dislike it) and I don't really want good wrestling fans to part with any of their money. It would be cool if anybody who reads it sent me an e-mail so I could get my jollies. throwbackwrestling@earthlink.net Unless, of course, they don't like it! ...dave conifer

    Free High School Wrestling Novel

Thanks Mathound, for correcting my link. Also, thanks for allowing me to post my shameless plug on your forum. I don't make any money from this story but I really get a kick when people read it... By the way, I just watched a movie that was set in Louisville -- what a cool state you have there in Kentucky!

    Throwback Update

Here's a link to a website that's all about my self-published, low-budget high school wrestling novel. I wrote it because I think we need more stories about our sport. The entire novel can be read free of charge here. The site also contains reviews, reader comments and excerpts. You can even email me from there to tell me how bad it is. Wondering how Ben's teammate Nick did in the state finals? Wonder no more! Check out the revised chapter 25 to see how Nick did. http://home.infionline.net/~cpharm/Throwback
