I am thrilled to see that Matt Mines will be wrestling for at Campbellsville for Coach James. I hope to see big things from Matt.

Who is hosting any freestyle/greco-roman tournaments and what are the dates along with specifics. Any help you can give is appreciated.

the tournament kicks off today. What teams and wrestlers are you pulling for? myself, i have always liked Minnessota because of J. Robinson as well as Ohio State but I am not expecting anything from them, and of course I am pulling from my alma mater-UT Chattanooga. Looks like Minnessota truly is #1 after beating Oklahoma State for the second time in a dual. They won 19-16. Cole Konrad beat Mocco again proving the pin in the first match was not a fluke. Should be real interesting come tournament time to see who actually pulls away with it.

The state draw will not be posted until all region results are submitted. The KHSAA does this to keep coaches from having their kids forfeit 3rd or in the finals to improve their chances at state. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it did happen hence, the postponement of draw until after regionals.

I never got the opportunity to wrestle in Mater Dei's Tourny but I would have liked to. Chattanooga was always a fun place for me to wrestle.

UofC lost to UTC but I think they beat Appallachian State. I don't think Cooper wrestled, can this be confirmed. Also, I follow the UTC program because that is where I wrestled in college and they look to be peaking at the right time.

It always depended on the opponent in the dual and where the tourney was at. I know when I wrestled Clarksville High in TN. I had no trouble getting pumped. they were the in town rivals. Tournaments, well, nothing is more stimulating than regionals and state. it's what you work all year for. Coaching: I loved to dual Union county because Dennis was always in it and it pumped me up even more to see another coach want to win as bad as me. I also liked to take my team to the father Ryan invitational because my boys had an opportunity to wrestle big guns from 3 different states.

Looks like Union County will run away with the team title and probably qualify the whole team for State. Outside of Union, it looks like Caldwell has 4 to 5 big guns to help them finish as runner ups. From 3rd down, it doesn't look promising for the rest of the teams and it pisses me off. From 3rd down the other teams just have 1 or 2 guys that they are looking at to do well in regionals and state. I think the emphasis is on building for the future. This is usually not a problem for a team however, when it is an entire region it is. Christian Co. has a lot of depth but they are young so in 2 years I think they will be back. Outside of them, I am not knowledgeable enough of the other teams to make any intelligent statements. I know that freestyle wrestling in the summer plays a big part in Union Co. success each year becasue they have a solid base coming into the program yearly, furthermore, Dennis knows his stuff and he has a great supporting staff. When I was at Fort Campbell, summer wrestling payed off tremendously for our boys along with are weight training program and low risk high success technique system. Think about it, in 3 years we went from 4th to 2nd to 1st in the region. A lot of that was due to summer wrstling. Union county has people outside of Coach Walls involved with their summer program. Lets model after their success. Also, scheduling has a lot to do with it. To remain neutral, I will leave that issue alone. Good luck to all the young men at regionals at state. Train hard wrestle harder.

I am curious to know what everyone else thinks. What is a good price for a wrestling camp to send your kids to?

Just interested in opinions of all, what makes wrestling the greatest sport the world has ever known. what seperates it from other sports, and finally, where would you be without wrestling?
