Woodford Co. and Campbell Co. traveled to West Virginia Dec 19th for the Grapple at the Castle duals. This was a very competitive and tough tournament. A ton of state champs, state placers, and All-Americans. Woodford Results Rd. 1- Bye Rd. 2- Woodford 63, Greenbrier West, WV 16 Rd. 3- Woodford 70, Winfield, WV 9 Rd. 4- Woodford 44, Parkersburg, WV 27 Rd. 5- Woodford 37, Cabell Midland, WV 36 Rd. 6- Finals (1st place dual) Woodford 51, St. Alban, WV 21 I believe Campbell Co. took 4th place and looked very good doing so. They wrestled some tough teams as well.

It came down to a 3 way tie. North Oldham beat Campbell County Woodford beat North Oldham Campbell County beat Woodford All 3 were very good duals. Looked like all 3 teams didn't have all of there starters probably but great competition. 1. Woodford (winning on criteria) 2. Campbell 3. North Oldham

Saturday July 20th there will be a free clinic for all the wrestlers competing in the BGSG's. I am bringing in Abe Cross (asst. coach Lindsay Wilson College) to do an hour long clinic free of charge. The clinic will be in between sessions. Here are some of his credentials; - 2x state placer (Michigan) - D1 varsity letter winner @ Michigan State Univ. - Head coach Team Michigan Gold (Disney Duals) - Asst. Coach Lowell High school (team state champs, numerous state placers, one state champion) - Current Asst. Coach @ Lindsay Wilson College (12 All- Americans, 2 national champs , 5 national finalists) Abe is a great wrestler and coach. This clinic is an opportunity for all the wrestlers competing in the BGSG's to learn new technique, workout with great competition, and have a great/ fun day on the wrestling mat! We are very excited to have Abe come down. - Time Schedule is looking like this; 9am-12pm: bantam division - schoolboy division 12pm-1pm: Abe Cross Clinic 1pm-4pm: cadet division - open division * All times are estimated and could change for multiple reasons. But we are trying to keep a set time schedule and this is what we are shooting for!

July 10-13 Woodford County is hosting it's annual youth/elementary camp. It's a great way for your young wrestler to learn the basics to becoming a champion! Woodford County's annual wrestling camp is approaching soon. This camp is great for all wrestlers to learn proper technique from some of the best technicians not only in the state but the country. The records and credentials for Coach Carr Sr. and Coach Carr Jr. says it all. 13x team state champions. 4x state champ. 5x state finalist. Pan Am silver medalist. And not to mention the price doesn't break the bank. Also many past state champions and placers will be there to give wrestlers more 1-on-1 time with instructors. Also a chance to wrestle others from around the state and even some out of state wrestlers.
