    woodford with 5 state champs!!!!!

Olympic Wish started a poll on Jan. 31 asking who thought Woodford would have 7 champs. We all said no way. And we were right, however if someone hadn't set their sights pretty high then Woodford may not have 5 champs today. Congrats Woodford!! on your championships and for having the wisdom to set high goals. I hope next year everyone else will set high goals too!

    2006 MOW?

Sorry to offend you Bacon Mom, I was just expressing an opinion

    2006 MOW?

I think Richard Starks certainly has a record that shows he has brought a lot to Kentucky Wrestling for his entire HS career. He has also performed superbly in Ohio! Richard has also been considered just as unbeatable as any wrestler in the state. Jacob Murton has brought a lot to the table also but hasn't been bringing it to us in Kentucky as long as Richard Starks.

Most memorable moment for you or a teammate

It's a little hard to say but, I was very impressed with Richard Starks performance in his final match. I was also impressed with the class he exhibited when it was over and he was the winner. There was no grandstanding, only the behavior of a gracious winner and he was truly respectful of his opponent and their coaches. WAY TO GO Richard!!!

    The champions!!

Grandma, You were right after all. I guess I'll have to learn to respect my elders a little better.

    The champions!!

Grandma, You are obviously from Woodford County because your picks seem to be biased that way. However, I thing you give Lewis and Courtney too much credit. Lewis starts playing games everytime he gets in trouble which may work most of the time but not at a state tournament. Last time he faced Luna he had all kinds of injury time but received nothing but coaching and he just ran out of the ring one time which should have been a disqualification. Not exactly champion material. I also believe Courtney will be beaten by Banks from Larue County as he was a State Duals.

    state dual

And The WOODFORD TEAM lost to Larue County!!!
  8. EaglePappy189

Woodford w/ 7 or more state champs

I'm just glad Larue showed Woodford they aren't necessarly the best. In the end all of the Woodford coaches choices didn't put his team on top did it?
  9. EaglePappy189

    state dual

I don't by that since #2 Matt Byrd (Woodford) sat out against #1 Taylor Scherer also. Who knows what their game is? It seems to be about winning by choosing the odds that suit your needs.
  10. EaglePappy189

    state dual

Yea, we knew that! I guess the coach didn't have confidence that his man could win against both wrestlers.
  11. EaglePappy189

    state dual

I guess he couldn't beat both. Not the sort of material real winners are made of.

    Rebel Rankings 2005/2006 - #6

Ranger, I wonder if the 171 wrestlers you ranked #1 and #2 doubt your rankings. Yesterday at State Duals both their teams suspiciously forfeited that weight class each time their team wrestled against the #3 wrestler in that class while wrestling. Starks and Jones wrestled all their other matches while denying Rupp a good match.
  13. EaglePappy189

    Congrats LaRue Co.

Larue County did an excellent job of letting Woodford know they have some competition. It was fun watching these two teams wrestle. The Hawks wrestlers and fans also showed how to win with class!

    THE COST OF WRESTLING CAMP

Applachian State is a good camp for around $250-300. It's only drawback is the distance.
  15. EaglePappy189

    state dual

I wondered why Will Starks chose not to wrestle Ben Rupp. That could have been a good match. They were close at Woodford!
