So you're conveniently ignoring the rest of the post and just adressing his TCI win? I'm aware that TCI was a weak field, does that mean he should be penalized for winning it?
-
I posted this same blurb in the HS rankings thread done by Ranger. -------------------------- Beto won TCI, pinned McCrCent(ranked #20) in the semis and dec. Dunbar in the finals. Earlier in the yr he pinned Wright from Seneca (ranked #6). At region 2 duals he pinned Chenault (ranked #15) from Central hardin, and beat Hall (ranked #11) from Larue.
-
So they're top 10 in a better state. TC is supposed to be a top 10 team in KY and that means not getting beat in 13 of 14 weight classes. They had to have some kids out sick. Did Hedges, Griggs and Brown all get beat?
-
Beto has beat everyone but Hull, I believe. And won the TCI.
-
Beto should be higher at 145.
-
WOW. TC got dominated. All their wrestlers healthy? Is Reitz that good?

Louis Beto from Danville at 145 should be top 15. He won TCI, pinned McCrCent(ranked #20) in the semis and dec. Dunbar in the finals. Earlier in the yr he pinned Wright from Seneca (ranked #6). At region 2 duals he pinned Chenault (ranked #15) from Central hardin, and beat Hall (ranked #11) from Larue. Not sure but his record is about 22-2. I know Danville is a hard team to get results for but you can find all the aforementioned results at www.amnews.com. Larry Vaught for the Danville paper actually does a decent job covering Region 2. Thanks for your hard work, Ranger. -
Does woodford still attend this one?
-
The only matchup I know for sure is Logsdon and Zarth at 119.
-
I think some varsity are leaning towards going, kasey. Its ultimately up to the coaches, though. I hope they do so I can come watch. I'd like to see you and Travis K again and maybe Logsdon v Zarth again (btw they will meet again tonight in the finals, Mack pinned his semis opponent).
-
Hester is back and went 5-0 at Harrison duals w/ 4 pins.
-
If woodford sends their Varsity guys, which they may not.
-
I think it was 6-3.
-
Winning WAY WAY WAY more than you lose is dominating, despite the score. Sounds like you got beat one too many times by a WC wrestler, or should I say got dominated?
-
The biggest news of the tourney was probably Franklin Co. beating Henry Clay. FC looks tough and is only getting better.
-
I meant the domination continues (not by a big margin, though). The last time Woodford lost their region these kids wrestling today weren't even born.
-
thanks for the update flyboy.

Going back to Monday: Logsdon (WC) beat Lenz from Harrison Co. after he bumped up to wrestle 119. Logsdon also beat Lacy (Laf) by 9 or 10. Lacy's only pts were given to him (escapes, and one unsportsmanlike call). Logsdon got pinned by Zarth in the 1st period. Logsdon shot in for the ankle, Zarth put on a front headlock, locked up a nearside cradle, there was a small struggle, then Zarth hooked his ankle and it was over. I look forward to seeing these two go at it all yr. Then on Tuesday Logsdon beat the TC 112 after he bumped up to 119.

Travis K. had Heges on his back several times and was winning the match. He got caught (kinda) and it was an EXTREMELY quick defensive pin call. I thought it was too aggressive of a call for HS kids. Woodford has a long way to go but they still dominate their region.
-
Where's Evan Hester at 215?
-
I agree. Its going to take some kids stepping up, but I think it will happen. Woodford's elite kids need to pin, the kids who are on the verge of being elite need to win, and the kids who are still learning their role need to keep from being pinned. Simple as that. One wrestler I see making a big impact will be Cory McCall for woodford. Freshman, unranked and ready to make a name for himself.
-
Some of the older folks may correct me but I think Woodford has been to every state dual tourney ever held. Pretty sure Parks was the one who jumpstarted the format yrs ago. My prediction: 1 Woodford 2 Harrison 3 TC Good luck region 7 grapplers!
-
yeah, tc. Joe Jr. had a pretty long streak from soph-senior yr. Maybe 180 matches (just guessing).
-
I've followed TC for years and I know their history as a team. Them winning the region (duals OR indiv.) would be a pretty big deal. Not exactly a wrestling powerhouse. They normally assume their position behind Henry Clay and Dunbar (and WAY behind Woodford). Nice to see that program is making strides. I'll be anxious to see what they've got this weekend.
