    Region 7 Predictions

Not sure but Davis had him on his back several times. It was in the first round of consos.

    Strongest Wrestlers

Well, call Guiness b/c the men's record for bench press in North America for a high schooler in the 198 weight class (I gave Joe an extra ten pounds) is only 336 lbs (record was broken in Feb 08). Even in the 220 weight class its only 352. Remember these are HS records. source: http://www.nasa-sports.com/American%20Records/MenUneqBP.htm

    Region 7 Predictions

Those couple of good moves and stupid stuff was good enough to beat Lacy and hang with Logsdon. If he wrestles with the same intensity as he did at the Dragon Inv. I think he'll do fine.

    Region 2 Rankings 01/26/09

Beto will win regions at 145.

Me neither. McCall will major him this time around.

    State Duals

Oh, I was not aware of that rule. But I know some coaches won't care. You have to beat the best to be the best, so why not do it earlier in the day?

    State Duals

Ahhh. This changes quite a bit. Unseed campbell co., imo.

I call bull on "benching 450 regularly." That's NFL size.

    Region 7 Predictions

I forgot one more: Travis Krauziewicz WC over Kasey Hedges TC at 125. (I suspected this was the case earlier in the yr but Travis getting 2nd at Dragon and Hedges getting 5th made this an easier pick)

    State Duals

I see them being seeded as such: 1)Trinity 2) Larue 3) Woodford 4) Union And if SoOldham drops out does that mean NorthOld gets their spot or the host team (Henry Clay) gets to wrestle?

    dragon officiating...

Damn, I saw hedges pinning the Southern kid in the consos and assumed he won. Perhaps he did lose twice to a kid he had no business losing to once.

    Region 7 Predictions

IMO: Lenz over Bryant (although it will be close) at 112 Joe Davis over Jimmy Lacy for 3rd at 119 Corey McCall in the finals w/ Thompson at 130 Derrick Campbell in top 4 at 189 Trey Gentry in top 3 at Hwt.

    The Dragon Invitiational

I didn't know they gave a takedown or backpoints. If so, that was some very quick points to be awarded. Zarth was never on his back, imo. If anything he was exposing Osbourne to his back in the last 10 secs. But, I had my eyes split b/t the 112 final and the 119 final, so I could be mistaken. Its funny how two people so differently perceive the same match. I never once saw Zarth not in full control.

    The Dragon Invitiational

OK, you're counting the back points, I wasn't. It was 9-3. And Zarth doesn't cut Logsdon loose, he earns the escapes thru constant movement and flurries. Zarth rode out Osbourne for nearly 2 periods. Logsdon just has to stay out of trouble on his feet to keep these matches closer.

    dragon officiating...

Hedges only lost once to the Southern kid. But officitiating was not that bad. Several mishaps with the scorekeepers and clock workers occured but I didn't see any majorly blown calls. I liked that they rushed the finals right on thru. Face-offs and one mat is overdone. Just do that for regions and state only.
  16. I saw Hedges second match with the kid from Southern and I have no idea how Kasey got stuck by him in the quarters. Joe Davis came to wrestle on Sat. He beat Lacy from Lafayette and gave Logsdon all he could handle (Logsdon was dominating the whole match, taking him down at will, but w/ 20 secs left Davis tossed him and nearly got the pin. Logsdon only won by 3 or 4.) Joe also beat the trinity kid for 5th place.

    The Dragon Invitiational

I think Zarth won the finals 6-2 but the match never really felt in contention. Zarth pinned Logsdon in the semis. It was 6-3 in the 2nd period before the fall.

    Dragon Invitational

bryant scored first off a hip toss and kept bradbury on his back for a full 5 count. they were near the edge of the mat and bradbury finally worked his way out. after that bradbury took control of the match and won by pin.

    WOODFORD COUNTY!?!

yeah, and those 13 state titles and plethora of indiv. champs has nothing to do with their overwhelming crowd support. nope. not a bit. 8-) you could hold the tourney in paducah and woodford would still bring the most, is my point.
  20. bigboss: Obviously we disagree on what transpired at state duals, so lets just agree to disagree on this one. Larue had a heckuva team that yr, probably the best they've ever had. They stepped up at State Duals big time and took the crown. But it should be noted that KGray did break his ankle at state and that was the reason for his default to Detre (which totally KILLED him, but it was a coach/trainer decision). Without that injury Gray places top 4, easy.
  21. "Am I wrong" Yes, the dual was within 3 points going in to the HWT bout. And Kevin Gray (189) didn't get stuck once all yr and would not have been stuck by Detre. Whitaker definately would've stuck the Larue 215 (pinned every opp. but 3 that yr and held the national record for pins in a season as a junior). But you're right about it being in the semis...I forgot that CampCo. was in Woodford's pool and that was the dual where the ref was removed. You're not arguing that happened, right? And this never happened: "Also another ref, not the one on the mat, walked out and told the ref to stop the HWt match because Woodford had an illegal headlock(no arm). Because the other ref stepped on the mat is why the pin was not called." The match was never stopped.
  22. Not to rehash, but jpizar is dead-on when he says "Larue kinda won." That ref (who will remain nameless) was scheduled to be the ref for the semis b/t Woodford and Campbell Co. but Parks stepped in and said he wasn't allowed to ref b/c his son was on CamCo. (JV, I think). which INFURIATED the ref. He made a big scene and they didn't allow him to ref that dual. In the finals b/t Larue and Woodford guess who was the ref? Yep, same dude and he took it out on Woodford, big time. Bad calls the entire time, worse of which was the HWT match jpizar refers to. If I remember correctly that ref was not allowed to ref the state tourney that yr b/c of his actions. Still, though. Props to Larue for winning state duals in 99. Did I mention 2 timer Josh Whitaker was injured that day? Yeah, it still bugs me if you can't tell.
  23. Woodford won in 99, bud.
  24. KYgrappler

    WOODFORD COUNTY!?!

Well, it is kind of difficult, jpizar, since woodford takes up nearly 1/4 of the crowd. Not many teams have that many fans follow wrestling. Who else has every home match broadcast over the web w/ color commentary?

    Best Overtime Matches you've seen.

99 state semis. Anthony Smith (ChrCo.) vs Isaac Knable (StX). Refs hit Smith for stalling (4th time) in OT, he went crazy, family almost stormed the mat, was later DQ'd after refusing to shake Neal Crawford's hand after a conso match (in which he stuck crawford). He was stalling, though. Knable took a junk shot just to force the ref to call it.
