If you want to change your teams attitude at practice and during a meet you have to get one or two good leaders who are willing to bust their balls during practice without complaining once. You need just a couple of individuals who put all their trust into Coach Badihda's hands without question. The rest of the team will follow their example and practices will become much more intense and proggresive. You might also want to see if Peace and Reid will transfer.

Best matches at state this weekend.

I agree with Kalen; the 285 finals were unbelievable at the end. Did Byrd get a stalling or fleeing the mat call agaisnt him at the end? Because that would have made his takedown at the end a must. -
I agree... Over the next three or four years region six should be working its way back on top.

I'm unsure to the size of region six, but it seems as though the schools within it are dwindling. While SK, Ryle and Campbell usually have solid teams, teams like Dixie, Holmes and Scott have been loosing numbers of the past decade. This is primarily because these schools have absolutely no feeder program. Newport and Conner each have middle school programs that show promise along with the Grey, Twenhofel and Campbell Co. programs. I think that this has lead to a lack of competition throughout NKY wrestling

The end of the 285 match was crazy. You can't blame the wrestlers for their mistakes because the overtime rules have changed so much in these last years, and also with the adreniline pumping and emotions running high you can't expect them to have the most focused minds. -
What teams are going to the Five Star Classic so far?

Is the tournament this weekend or the thirteenth? -
This is the usual line up with a few added: South Dearborn Woodford County South Oldam Harrison County Louisville Eastern Conner Scott Lexington Lafayette Louisville Ballard North Oldham

Nolan winning state is one of my proudest Northern KY moments of all time. Even though he beat a Northern KY wrestler (Neil Cooper) to do it.

Didn't Shotwell only tech agaisnt Ryle?
-
How is that criteria measured? What is it based off of?

Anything that makes it easier to cut weight and less dangerous for the wrestlers seems like a good idea to me.

Coach Carr vs. Courtney -or- Murton - or- Ruschell -or- Scheure (I believe Carr, in his prime, would tear Courtney up, but it would be fun to watch)

Nice job once again Ranger. Thanks -
I would say Woodford County and Larue. It use to be WC and Xavier come state, but St. X hasn't put on much of a show the past couple of years.

Reitz's hwy (Moose?) deserved the MVP in my opinion. He wrestled aggressivley the whole match and ended up beating the favored Byrd to lock the team victory over Fern Creek. The only; reason why he didn't win OW is because everyone decided to vote then leave without watching the finals.

I'm sorry I read the thread wrong. I was listing tough tournies. WCI is by far the best ran in the state. Always on time and always benificial for the wrestlers.
-
You would think that CC might be lacking this year, but time and time again they show up to region with a full line-up of pretty good wrestlers.

Scrambling has to do with agility, flexability, and heart. We always say that in order to be a good scrambler, you have to be "balls deep". Whatever the hell that means. :-P

Even thought this will make things a lot easier on everyboyd, it doesn't really seem fair to the kids who made the original weight all year long. Now there will be quite a few guys just waiting until Christmas to drop the weight; I'll be one of them. :|

Wrestlers who use bulimia to cut weight are sad and pathetic. Not only does it hurt your body but it gives wrestling a terrible reputation. Please, don't let any of your wrestlers, team mates or friends develop such a repulsive eating disorder.
