  1. For a program that was started within the last 3 years I believe Meade County has done a great job. Their boys wrestle to win the whole match, are in shape and obviously know where the weight room is. With a couple more years for them to work on their technique, which takes the longest time to get especially with a new program, and they'll be a contender."

I didn't realize Meade county had only had a wrestling program for three years. If that's true they are doing great. Congratulations to them for making angreat showing at State.

  2. I don't think Walton is a very good example for this discussion. No disrespect to the program or the coaches but they did/do rely heavily on the "Big Schools" for some of their wrestlers."

    Act Like Youve Been There,

I don't understand what you mean by this statement? How is it you get the impression that Walton relies heavily on " Big School" for some of their wrestlers?

  3. I don't know who called anyone a name or insulted or discredited anyone specifically but I didn't mention any one team or any one kid. I however did see two teams in specific needing injury time quite often in the third period. If you didn't see this situation as a problem them apparently we just disagree on this topic. Faking injury time to get a breather only takes away the advantage the other kid gained by working harder throughout the season and is total b.s

  4. I don't know if anyone else agrees or not but I saw WAY to much injury time being called in the third period and 90 percent of the time, the kid took a one minute breather then was fine. To me this is nothing more than legal stalling!

  5. WHS98:

Good grief sir, you are taking these comments WAYYYYY out of context. I take KYCOACH's comments that Wiley's level of wrestling was great to beat a 2xer by the margin that he did. He is pointing out how hard that he had to have trained to accomplish this, especially after having lost to your son earlier. No intentions at all to belittle anyone here, especially a kid. Your comments toward your sons performance were far more harsh (10 fold) than anything anyone else said.Don't take everything so personal. Sounds like you also are having a hard time dealing with a loss of a match. Just my observation though

  6. Ahern's results placing at SWOCA and GMVWA show he is for real, and not to be overlooked. I just think Carr and a terry are a level above the rest at 130 but 3 thru 8 are just a toss up if Carr and Terry are opposite side at State. Should be exciting!

  7. I thought this would be a bit of an off year for Ryle after loosing a few State Champs to graduation but they have proven themselves this year with wins at the Rumble and great showings at SWOCA and GMVWA in Ohio. Trininty looked really good at the Dragon. Union is stacked agin this year after adding Blackwel and Carr. Its a toss up for first with these three teams. Johnson Centeral and Larue both are capable of coming in and stealing it away from the other three. I am going with:

    Union Co

    Ryle

    Trinity

    Johnson Centeral

Larue.. But, I wouldn't be surprised by the top five shaking out in any order. Good luck to all

  8. For all of you that have never tried it, don't be so quick to criticize. Try officiating a match that has several flurries and you look up after a take down two reversals and one set of back points and see both coaches with their hand up saying the score is wrong! Well yeah, it probably is because your table help are highschool or junior high kids that are not paying attention because they are too worried about play grab butt with their boyfriend/ girlfriend. A really up tempo match requires a lot of hustle and focus to be in position and make the correct calls so despite what a lot of you may think the official has more to do than keep track of the margin of difference in the score.

I will be the first to say that some officials we have in Kentucky are less than first grade but a lot of you nay sayers need to try it for yourself before you make fun or criticize!
