    12/15 Tiger Duals Results

WOW! TALK ABOUT A GREAT MATCH! Woodfored's Shane White and Conners Lane Jones. Back and forth in a very close match. White winning by 2 points with just a few seconds left and Jones on top tryint to turn White and cant when white comes out for a reversal and wins 11-7. Great match, very fast paced with both kids on their back at one point! Was a pleasure to watch it

    Middle School State Predictions

Bigcoach: You are right. I forgot about the kid at 96 from Wayne Co. Depending on what side he is on, a really good kid wont make it out to the finals. Is he on the same side as Lonkard or Hitchings?

    Middle School State Predictions

She Hate Me: at 89 you mentioned a few kids, "Paden, Holtsclaw, White, Jones or Edens" Any idea how these guys have done competing against each other this year? My picks are 70: Yenter or Ervin. Slight edge to Yenter 75: Fahy 82: Fahy 89: who knows? Supe, Holtsclaw, Jones or White 96: Hitchings in a squeaker or Lonkard 103:Salyers 110? Jude Not familiar with the classes above that enough to make picks. Good luck to all wrestlers!
  9. UNLESS you used to wrestle for him. ....Just kidding

    State finals predictions!!

Kentucky 10: Not sure about that. Obviously I havent seen any of these kids wrestle all of their matches, but I am thinking you may have Lane confused with his younger brother..
  12. Age divisions going off of their age on the day of the tournament. Is this going to stay consistant from year to year? Last years age requirements were in line with highschool rules, meaning that a kid with a birthday after Aug 1st or 5th, not sure which wrestled his age last year......example. A kid that is 11 now with a Sept, Oct birthday wrestled 10 and under last year. I just hope the requirements stay consistant from year to year. Also, it is unfortunate that this "miscommunication " happened. Hopefully this will not happen again and we will build on this tournament, and in years to come if can you say you are an " Elementry School State Champion" this statement has alot of meaning. Good luck to both tournaments and all kid who participate.

    middle school rankings??

Mathound: I disagree. I would love to see rankings. Thats just my opinion. My son is a 6th grader and has been wrestling for 6yrs now. I see more kids starting at a young age. This would be something fun to kick around.

    High School Ref's Needed anywhere...

I would love to see our state have a requirement like Ohio has. They have a course for new officials. You have to attend 25 hrs and pass a ohsaa test. Then each year afterwards, it is required that you attend one state rules meeting as well as 4 district meetings. This is 5 rules meetings every year! I inquired to the khsaa about this and was told "we are so short of wrestling officials now, we are afraid that if we make the requirements harder it will be even worse"..Just a thought here. Would we rather be somewhat short on officials but alot of the ones we do have, not be updated on rule changes and miss alot of calls. Or be even more short than we are now, but all that we do have be very up to date and make good calls? Sort of a double edged sword here.

Does this club still meet for practices in Indy?

    Elementary state

Besides the "attendind school in this state" issue, my other main concern in just being consistant from year to year on the age guidelines for each division. I just don't want to see it change from year to year so that a kid is at the bottom of the age division one year , then come back the next year to find out it has changed and he will be at the bottom of the division again.

TWC COACH; Will this club's practices be held in Indy?
  22. refdad

    Elementary state

Mrs. Clark.. I am sorry to say the meeting is too far for me to attend, but my main concern is that we don't have a situation occur like last year, with kids that attend school in another state(Ohio) taking away championships from two of our own kids. I hope this issue will be addressed and some sort of requirement put in place to prevent this from happening again. I understand that there will be some growing pains with getting this tournament going but I am optimistic that after a couple years of tweaking to make for better competition it will turn into something big, like the Middle School State Tournament.

    2006-07 Top Middle Schools/Clubs

dscicle: about Nick Paden placing. Guess that depends on what weight he will be going. He went 82 I believe, last year. I assume he will be at 89? If so, I am going to say 3rd or 4th. If 82, I think he could be 2nd , behind John Fahy.

    Middle School State Predictions

I think it is a fairly safe bet that Matt Fahy will win 75...Even safer that John Fahy will win 82..I am not firmiliar with Trevor Frietsch but I really think the odds are against a kid winning 70 lbs( even if it gets approved to have a 70lb class)only weighing 50 or so. 89lbs..This has quite a few kid capable of winning. If Hitchings goes 89 he has to be the favorite. If not Watson or maybe Jones from Conner depending on who goes what weight. Paden from LaRue..Hitchings at 96 if he goes this weight followed by Troxell from McCreary Co.
