    State Brackets and Predictions

Seriously MC125? I am thinking you dont watch much wrestling in region 3 do you?
  2. I couldnt possibly agree more. I would love to see this kid live here untill he graduates 8th grade and compete the remainder of this year as well as next year. HOWEVER, if this family moves back to Michigan after the completion of wrestling season then moves back again in September or October there should absolutely be something in the KHSAA guidelines declairing him ineligable. Lets hope this is nothing more than rumors and the family stays untill Mark graduates middle school next year. He is definetly an elite wrestler. lets hope he is getting the guidance to make him as exceptional a person as a wrestler
  3. Its sad some folks don't understand humility and good sportsmanship and being a good winner

    Raider Rumble

I hope you are right, otherwise, we are seeing the opening of a can of worms that could get out of hand. As said before though, if they plan to make residence here for the next two years , I welcome them and think its great that a kid of his caliber wrestle here!

"it will only make Ky kids better in the long run" I agree with you on that point but there seems to be a bit more to it than that. First off, I don't know first hand, only what I have heard, but apparently the father makes no bones about the fact that they are only here for wrestling season and then plans to move back to Michigan, then repeat the whole process next year. Am I the only one that sees something wrong with this being allowed? If they had planned to move here and make residence here for the next two years then move back after the boys 8th grade year, fine, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Again let me point out, I don't know this first hand, but I heard this from someone in the Ryle program. Another thing to keep in perspective here, we are not talking about just another 7th grade kid. This family lives for wrestling. Every time I can remember being at Jeff Jordan's with my son who is about the same weight, this kid has always been there. EVERY TIME! He is a numerous time national champion. A Trinity award winner. He has most likely won all of the W.O.W Roller national tournaments. So lets keep this in perspective here, its not like any and all 7th or 8th grade kids from Michigan or Ohio will just roll in and dominate our high school kids. This kid is one in several thousands, maybe more! He is this good because he lives wrestling and will certainly dominate in Michigan when he gets to high school there. That being said, do I agree with what is taking place here? If what I hear is true and they will only be here for four months out of the year then repeat next year, absolutely not! If they plan on staying two years then returning, heck yes, and I take my hat off to the boys father for being that committed to his son future and his wrestling. For those of you who say even if the rumors of returning right after the season then doing it again next year is true, so what, what is the big deal? Well, let this kid or any other in the same situation be the one that knocks your son out of a State title on Saturday, then move back to their home state the following Monday and see what kind of a taste is left in your mouth.

    Results from Elkhorn?

All I can comment on as far as Elkhorn is that they won their dual with Cooper by 6 pts. Cooper forfeited 3 weight classes, but congratulations to Elkhorn on winning the tournament

    SCRATCH WEIGHT

G-Of-Old, I agree completely that weight should be regulated just as strictly in youth and middle school as it is in high school but I don't see that happening. One reason, lack of knowledge would further complicate the situation for newer kids/parents. A lot of youth and middle school are not very experienced but are the only ones willing to devoted the time. Also what expense is involved with the body fat test to each program? I just don't know the answerers to several questions but I agree that weight needs to be regulated at this level as well.

    SCRATCH WEIGHT

can anyone confirm the rule this year as far as weight is concern? Does a kid have to make "scratch weight" one time to wrestle that weight for dist/region/state with the 2lb growth allowance? Or, can a kid wrestle a higher weight to allow a newer kid to compete at (just an example) lets say 103 while the better kid wrestles 110 weighing 105, or so then for dist/region/state weigh in at 105 and compete at 103?

    Returning State Champs and placers

Any state placers returning in the 103 and above weights?
  22. Are there any returning state champions this year still in middle school, and if so what weights are the returning champs and placers going this year?

    Region 6

I don't know enough kids in our region to even begin to attempt it. My only predictions are the kids I am familiar with TJ Ruschell will likely win our region at 119/112, which ever weight he goes Garth Yenter will likely win 103 this year if he is at that weight Michael Osborne and Cooper will have a good match for 125 or 130 which ever weight they go Palmer at 130/135 TJ bates at 135/140 Shotwell at 145 Jake Lee at 160 Thats the extent of the kids I am familiar with.
