Rick Vaughn Sr....I am assuming these kids that you are talking about are all from Twenhofel. Who is Trevor you are referring to? What weight class did he wrestle last year? How did he do at Middle School State?

Just wondering if any state placers from last year are going 75, 82 and 89 this year? How about it everyone? Who are the kids from your school or club that placed last year that will be at theses weights this season?

There are many factors to tournaments here (KY) lasting TOO long. Most of which have been mentioned allready. I really believe that the bout board system along with having one more ref than mats would go along way to solving most of the problem. You would only need a quick break, maybe ten minutes after every two or three rounds for the table workers to use the bathroom and get a drink..Go ahead a wrestle all bouts except the finals. If you want to set up one mat in the center to wrestle the finals matches, this should only take 15 minutes or so...

Anyone know any websites for TN tournaments like ohiowrestler for OH?

Did anyone hear about a "stud" that enrolled at Ryle this year , from the state of Michigan? Heard this from a realestate agent two or three weeks ago. Any info on this? what weight or grade he is in?

OKIE: there is at least one tournament if not more each weekend to choose from just across the river in Cincinnati. However, I dont think that their is going to be alot of this type of thing for you in that area around Wayne Co. They do have a few open tournaments around there, but the numbers are pretty low. If I were you , I would look into Tennessee tournaments. It might be about a hour and a half or two hour drive but you may be able to find a tournament just about every weekend there. The Jr High and youth scene is going in the right direction here, but isn't probably isnt up to the level that you are used to yet

Okie: club teams do participate in the Middle School State Tournament. This is a team tournament. There is a "school" as well as "club" trophy handed out. As of right now, it is my understanding that you can compete as unattached. As of now. What area of the state are you moving to? Good luck to your son/sons

bulldog leader: thanks for the reply. Maybe so. I guess I figured since we know what weight my son will be going, so did everyone else. But we stay at least somewhat active in the sport during the off season. He has been to three good summer camps and started fall wrestling club this past week. Good luck to everyone this season

dscicle: I don't really understand, but I now see that. The only thing I can figure on this, is that a coach wants to wait to see what weight the kids that he feels his kid or kids cant beat, and then chooses to dodge that weight class if possible?? :?

Matmom: I am a big Jacob Murton fan, but your statement was that" he easily beat the sr nations champion at the beast of the east and now that kid signed with Nebraska".....Who was this hs sr nationals champ that Murton beat and what was the score?

I have heard that a kid just moved into the Ryle's school district from Michigan. A frosh or soph. Supposed to be a very good wrestler. If this is true, it is great to see good kids moving here from other states,regardless of what school they attend. Anyone have any first hand knowledge about this?

Having someone to push you really hard in practice everyday is just as important as any other factor, in determining how good a kid turns out to be..just my own opinion

RYP, you would know more about this that me, but I have been to (dont know if this is accurate or not) the last two times Brent and Myron wrestled head to head, Myron (Bradbury ) had won.

RYP, You are right about Brent Hitchings. He should probably be ranked # 1 at 96. Only thing is, I am not sure if any placers from that weight class will be back this year or not. Maybe you would like to give your top three in each weight class?

I will comment on the few that I do know a little about....I heard from Matt Watsons football coach that he has a knee injury. He may not be able to wrestle till around January and also he is weighing over 90 lbs, right now,so I am assuming he will go 96. Just a guess. I am pretty sure Ruschell will go 82 lbs. Also it is a safe bet that Troxell will not be at 89 again this year. At 75 will be the younger Fahy(Matt). The older brother (John) will go 82 this year. At 103, I am almost positive that Bates (Conner) moved on to high school. Thanks for the Work you have put into this dscicle...Wish I could give more insight but that is all I know for now.

LOL....I understand why they may be biased after reading your last post....."all but two of our kids", but I respect that. The only thing I don't like to see on here is mudslinging or downing another program or worse, a kid. OK, if not individual rankings, how about your top five or maybe top three in each weight class at state this year?

Also....care to take a stab at individual rankings?

Thanks, dscicle...I didn't realize that Trinity had lost so many kids. How about Gray? I see you have them third? How do you feel their chances are to maybe upset LaRue for the team title? From what I saw last year , I kinda expect them to be second in team points, ahead of McCreary

dscicle, Maybe you know more about the middle school scene that I do , but just wondering about a couple things? Why Conner as the # 1 club team? I thought they lost most all of the kids that placed last year to high school? Also. Trinity isn't in your picks at all. Did they loose that many kids to high school that you don't think they will be in the top five?

Almost 2600 kids entered in the Ohio Tournament of Champions on April 29th and only 11 kids from Ky entered! What is up with that? Why dont more people take advantage of this oppurtunity. A national tournament being this close to us and the chance to get to compete against the best kids from all over the United States?

Can anyone give me some info on this years elementry school state tournament. In particular the age divisions or grade divisions as well as weight classes. Any info would be greatly apperiated
