Nice to see kyle get a little revenge over molinaro fro PSU in the 3rd place match. Who would have ever thought palmer would have beat metcalf by 6 points?!?
-
i very seriously doubt he went 0-2 his freshman year at WCI. He placed 3rd at state at 119 that year

Those that are upset with myrons celebration should not forget the pressure that was put upon him by many on this site. For the 3weeks between the dragon loss several formus were started about what would happen to the furture of kentucky wresting if an seventh grade outsider came in and beat a defending state champ to win state. (no matter how phenominal Hall was, and he was that a phenom). So please rem the amount of pressure that was put on myron from the entire state to basically uphold our states reputation before you judge his celebration. I watched the video again and he threw his head gear at his own coaches feet let out a relief screem of excitment and went back to the center of the mat on to be greated by the boos of a select few ryle fans. (not all, the LARGE majority of ryle fans, including all coaches, Mark hall and his father were very respectful and congradulated myron on his victory) So i believe he simply reacted by saying your boos cant take my enjoyment of achieving somehting i worked for over the last ten years. Thank you for considering these facts from someone who is closer to the situation.

pace from wayne county was undefeated, caleb ervin was also undefeated, he didnt go to the beast or ironman (got sick on the way). Also hitchings was the 2009 171 champion.
-
It was in the 3rd OT.
-
From where i was it didnt sound like the ryle fans were booing. i think they were chanting twooooooooo in reference to myrons 2nd state title! I think all of this was just a miss communication in the after math of such a highly anticipated match-up

Halls match would not have been enough. trinity won by 28pts and the hall match would have only been an 8 point swing. However in the 215 match the referee blew the whistle after trinity's 215 stepped out of bounds imediatley following the escape. So there was no takedown.

Who is the Ky High School wrestler of the decade 2000-2009?
12345 replied to risingtide160's topic in 2010 Season
Has to be between Ruschell, Murton, Starks, cooper, or knable. No one dominated the way murton did for his entire career -
St. Paris Graham vrs. Blair Acadaemy (New Jersey)
12345 replied to oldwrestler81's topic in 2010 Season
villalonga (blair) beat Stephens (G) 11-5. 21-6 (G) thru 145 -
I think bradbury from trinity has to be on the list.
-
i think someone has been left off this list

I don't think it would be such a bad thing if wrestlers from other states moved in to compete, even if it was just only for a year. This will only force the level of wrestling in KY to continue to increase to keep up.
-
i don't think the weight class makes a hill of beans difference. Ruschell obviously killed that when as he grew and moved up to in weight never took a step back. he actually continued to train and got much better. David Taylor was the best in the country at 103 and 112 for three years then jumped up to 135 and was the best in the country at all weight classes. if you are good you are good. and fahy is good. who cares if he is a soph or fresh or a 5th grader. if you are the best you are the best. period. i don't rem anyone telling henry cejudo that he wasnt the olympic champion bc he was the youngest or one of the youngest in the comp. no matter what level you are at your age or grade has nothing to do with wether you are the best at your level.

I want make clear i believe Davis is as equally deserving as any canidate but since he won I am gonna make cases for 5 other wrestlers. These 5 are in no particular order....Matt Zarth 3x state champ and has never won OW he deserves one for his career. Luke Ervin had the best tournament against one of the toughest draws. John Fahy gave up nothing but escapes and won every match with ease. Made highley ranked wrestlers looks silly. Myron Bradbury gave up one total point in 5 matches while pinning 4 opponents and piched a shut out in the finals dominating from every position. Brad Hitchings dominated even tho looking sloppy with technique at times. One of the best high school seasons in KY history considering his 5th place beast finish as a junior. Higher than ruschell and murton as seniors. Congrats to courtney on a great career but he got one last year, lets share the wealth!
