I've spoken to the new principal, I've known him for awhile through my wife's family, yes they will have a program. Not sure who the coach will be but knowing him, he'll probably wait until after the season's over to make a hire, or announce it, in an effort to not cause a distraction from wherever the coach comes from, assuming he would be an asst or head coach somewhere already. He's a high-character guy who I think will really support the program. The school is situated between HC and BS so yes I imagine it will pull from those two mostly. I assume they'll be in Region 7 with the rest of the Lexington schools.

IHigh used to broadcast the matches from the state tournament. Maybe they have archived some of them. I'd start there, that or youtube search specific matches.

I've heard Tucker is injured, haven't heard it confirmed from a source close to the team though.

I thought Bryan Station pulled off a first-class event yesterday. I like pool tournaments because they guarantee everyone five matches.

The answer is to provide the new uniforms for free like they do with singlets. Many programs won't be able to afford to buy new uniforms for a few years but the KHSAA should allow maybe five years for programs to purchase them. In the meantime both uniforms should be acceptable.

I think Pat will take the Bryan Station program to new heights. I'm excited to see the results in a few years.

NFHS I believe, I think we can do 42 x 42 in high school.

As a sport that struggles with participation, removing one of the major excuses I hear, at least at the high school level, is a step in the right direction, especially since it won't have any effect on results.

Especially with Coleman Scott as the head coach. Each has won an NCAA title and represented the US in a World/Olympic championship. UNC has one of the best coaching staffs in the country. Frankrone's in a good situation.

I agree with the traditionalists that a singlet is part of the uniform to wrestle, but maybe the uniform could be changed. At the least it would take away a common reason why kids say they don't wrestle, competition wouldn't change much at all.

Hall has had ice in his veins since his time in KY. He never got rattled that I saw, amazing at that age. Calipari calls it "competitive confidence."

I'm pulling for Hall even though I'm traditionally and Iowa fan as well, the KY connection is too strong. Hall also seems to be a grounded young man despite his success. He's certainly earned everything he's won and deserves all the praise he receives. I'll also predict a major, without knowing anything about the other wrestler, simply because Hall is so good. He majored Valencia last year in their rematch! On a side not, I am proud of my state that Hall wasn't able to win a title here, although he beat Bradbury earlier in the season in another tough match. It just feels fake when middle school kids come to KY just to be able to compete in high school. I know that we're not as good as some surrounding states or even close but it makes me feel like a "jv state." I don't mean to hijack the thread for a side conversation but anytime someone brings up Hall people are going to think about this issue. I'm also proud that KY will always have a part in his story, especially since he's a good kid. I know it sounds like I'm contradicting myself being proud of both Hall and KY/Bradbury, but in my mind I'm not.

Coach Carr wrestled a bear one time when he was younger I think. One of my college coaches told us he fought an orangutang once a long time ago. He says the orangutang wrapped its leg around the pole of the cage in the corner and waved my coach over. Once it got ahold of him he said it hit him over and over again with a basically a hammer fist but with an open hand. Apparently their hands and wrists are huge. He said it was so brutal the trainers had to tranquilize it to stop from doing permanent damage. All this happened in a minute or two. I think I'd rather fight a black bear than a monkey honestly.

If you're talking about Zeke Jones he's the head coach at Arizona State now.
