Thanks Ranger for raising the bar yet another time! This report is awesome, I'll use it as a guide at the tournament for kids to watch. Thanks again!

The things you refer to are actions to sustain profit, work the fields to sustain livestock or agriculture to eat or sell for profit, work the shop of course for profit. I always thought the interpretation from the old testament is take the day off from what you normally do every day to make a living and worship, however you choose to worship. I dont think people should confuse sports to "work" as written in the old testament Sports is fun and celebratory, its usually a family gathering, anything but work. IMHO perfect for any day of the week, especially Sunday. I grew up wrestling dual meets on Sundays in a middle school league in IN with everyone's family in attendance, great wholesome family fun. It was a planned for 6-8 Sundays and everyone planned on it, go to church and then wrestle in the afternoon. Many times going out for dinner with family and friends. We played basketball and football on Sundays too, some of those kids grew up to be preachers. I respect everyones beliefs so if you feel Sunday is not appropriate for youth wrestling dont partake, but dont hold it back from others who chose to do so. Maybe its the 6-10 hour tournaments that arent great for Sundays.

Why would wrestling be considered work? Yes its physical exertion but by choice and for no compensation. I would think sports to be considered by most as play. I also think work is taken out of context in this situation.

How does no sports on Sunday honor the Sabbath? Whats wrong with sports on Sunday? NFL games are on Sunday, NASCAR, GOLF lots of sports on Sunday.

This spring attend the Tournament of Champions in Columbus, Ohio and let us know what you think about crowding the mat in Ohio. I personally love the tournament but its crazy!

When do they draw the brackets? Does anyone know the start time and if they have a time scheduled for the finals?

Just watched the movie "Legendary" (PG-13) with John Cena with wrestling in the story line. Pretty good movie, a little hokie a times but overall fun to watch. Its available on Netflix, some adult topics but no nudity and I dont remember any bad cursing either, actually pretty clean movie (hard to find these days). I would give it a thumbs up!

I don't doubt Ryle is a great school but I have to call out Dupont Manuals Academics Has lead the state for a long time. Male is very good too!

I shouldnt have referenced Hall in my earlier comments. I dont know his situation other than hes an awesome wrestler. My comments were meant more towards the issue of grades in general. I meant to really just question the validation of grades for any middle school athlete competing in a high school sport, any sport, anywhere. How are their grades validated to declare academic eligibility to be able to compete in any school sport.. My quess is that they are not in many cases.
-
Who was checking his grades while he wrestled HS and attended MS? How does that all work for MS kids wrestling HS, do the MS teachers validate he's passing classes with the appropriate grade point average?

The kids sounds like a great kid caught up in a very unusual situation. Another argument for middle schoolers to stay in Middle School. If they arent completing high school academic curriculum they shouldnt be participating in high school sports. I have heard of families relocating to KY for their basketball playing kids, but they are moving the family or the kids are moving in with family, Aunts or Uncles. This seems excessive but more reasonable. But to move just for the season and to live in a mobile home is a bit of a stretch regardless the reason. Where was the KHSAA on this?
